trips - Tecumseh TrailTrip Info
DescriptionWe will be hiking the Tecumseh Trail from the Low Gap Trail Head on Low Gap Road to the Fox Den Shelter which is about a 9 mile hike. The shelter is about 1-2 miles south of Richards Road also known as Lower Bear Creek Road. Water should not be a problem there is a small creek right before you get to the shelter.I will be taking and using my tent the shelter is nice but it faces the west so if you are planning on using the shelter you might want to bring a tarp. Directions to the trailhead if coming in from 37 turn east on Mahsiville Road THERE IS A SHELL GAS STATION ON THE SOUTHEAST CORNER.And follow it around to the first road you can turn right on that is LOW GAP ROAD take this road right around to the TRAIL HEAD on left side of road.Should say something like Low Gap Backcountry Area. We will meet at 10:30 local time on Saturday Morning if you need Friday Night Camping you can Camp anywhere from this Trailhead on to the East.
