<<<<<<<<< TRIP IS BEING POSTPONED >>>>>>>

Tentative itinary is to to 37 miles from Route 56 to MP 51.7 of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Since we will be going southbound this would entail attacking the Priest from the opposite direction of a NOBO thru-hiker. This means a nice 3000ft climb in 4 miles.

The other alternative would be to drive up to the parking lot at Crabtree Falls, hiking the fire road to the AT and then hiking NOBO to the shelter. (Please note that although this dirt road has been improved, it is still not a great road for passenger vehicles). One other alternative would be to hike UP Crab Tree Falls and make your way to the AT from there.

Regardless of how you get there, we will meet at the Priest Shelter Friday night were we will make our confessions while throwing back a little hootch.

Saturday we will hike approx 18+ miles to the Cow Camp Shelter. On the way we will hit the beautiful views from Spy Rock.

Sunday we will complete the hike by hiking 14 miles to the Blue Ridge Parkway just North of The Punchbowl Shelter.

Please note that the hike up the Priest from the North Side is fairly strenuous, however, after that, the hike, although long, is not too strenuous...
