trips - Mt Rainier & Adams July 2009Trip Info
DescriptionMt Rainier & Adams July 2009 Mt Rainier We will be using International Mountain Guides for the Rainier climb. There are only 4 spots left as of today 11/05/2008 for this climb. IMG limits climbers to 8 total. Link to guide service - http://www.mountainguides.com/rnr-dc3.shtml Dates: Jul 28th – Fly into Seattle and stay at airport nearby for that evening in order for everybody to meet up and get our rental vehicles. Jul 29th – Drive out to Rainier to the IMG office for the mandatory meeting and gear check (2pm). We will be staying at a hotel next to it. Link - http://rainieroverland.net/ Jul 30th – 6am meet at IMG and climb to Camp Muir ( Training day) Jul 31st – Climb to high camp at Ingram flats 11,000 feet ( More Training) Aug 1st – Summit day !!!!! and return back to IMG office. Stay overnight at overland again. An-den……. Aug 2nd – Drive over to Mt Adams (2hr 45 mins per MapQuest) and head up to a camp spot at Lunch Counter. Here is a link describing the route - http://www.summitpost.org/route/155590/south-spur.html. Aug 3rd – Get up, and bag the summit and return all the way down. This is where there are options. I would like to fly back on the 4th. So getting to the airport would be easier if we headed back to Seattle right after the climb, to catch an early flight out on the 4th. Depending on how many people are going will determine how many rentals cars we need and who wants to head back and when. This is the reason why I am posting this so early.
