Description

Planning on starting out on or about Aug 21st at Alturas Lake heading west down Alturas Lake Creek Trail(034), Mattingly Creek Trail then north on Middle Fork Boise River Trail(460) onto Tenlake trail(463) then onto South Fork Payette Trail(452) to Grandjean. Then North on The Trail Creek Trail(453) to Stanley Lake Trail(640) to Stanley Lake.Heading south on trail (528) past Iron Creek Campground on to Redfish Lake area. The last portion will be continuing southwest of Redfish Lake on The Gand Mogal Trail(045)conecting with Trail(092)past Hell Roaring Lake,Imogene Lake,Toxaway Lake, Twin Lakes and Alice Lake as the Trail joins the last leg Trail (095) to Petitte Lake. Then a short dirt road walk to the car back at Alturas Lake. About a 125 mile loop hike in all.Resuppling at Granjean Campground, Stanley Lake and Redfish Lake. Not really carrying more than a few days of food between any one resupply locations. Should take about about 9 days tops, averaging about 15 miles per day.
I will be flying into Sun Valley Airport, renting a car on Aug 19th and then head north to the Stanley area most likely grabbing a room for the night. The next day will be used to drop off resupply items at the above mentioned resupply points.
