DescriptionWARNING: THIS IS A STRENOUS BACKPACKING TRIP! NOT FOR BEGINNERS!!! You are welcome to car-camp (that is for beginners) !!! I am reserved a group campsite at COVE/STONY CREEK SEQUOIA NATIONAL PARK 6500'. It could have 50 people on car-camp on both night. You are welcome to join us if backpacking isn't your thing. There are many places to explore. Close to our orignial campsite of Dorst Creek. We would meet at Friday night for campfire. YOU ARE WELCOME TO HELP OUT BY LEADING A COUPLE DAY LONG HIKING WHILE STAY AT CAMPGROUND! Please write to me if you are interesting of leading day-hike! My backpacking group (only allow 12 people per permit. We might reguire two groups if more people wants to backpacking? Let me know!) would be hike from Jennie Lake to Twin Lake juction total 11.1 miles with eleveation gain 3300' and stay the night and loop back (optional on loop back of 14.2 miles). There is $10/pp for sign up on this trip. You would pay when you arrived! Deposit are paying for campground fee, permit fee and any associated fee/fund which are relate to group! GENERAL INFORMATION Entrance fee to park is $20 for 1-7 days. The general park information number is (559) 565-3341 or www.nps.gov/seki NOTES This facility is limited to a maximum group size of 50 people, and a combination of 20 automobiles or 10 RV's. Special food storage rules in effect, this is black bear country! There is a 2-night minimum stay on weekends (3 nights for holiday weekends). Pets must be leashed at all times. No all-terrain or off-highway vehicle use in the campground. No usage of chainsaws, firearms or fireworks allowed Description: This USFS group campground is part of the Hume Lake Ranger District, Sequoia National Forest. It is located approx. 95 miles NE of Fresno, adjacent to Sequoia National Park. Hume Lake is approx. 18 miles from the campground, offering swimming, trout fishing, boating and hiking. Normal season dates are 5/15 to 9/15. 1/4 mile to gas, store, showers. Warning: Bear habitat! This facility is operated by California Land Management.
