I never claimed the Big 10 was the only league Arcy. Talk about your myopic views! I wasn't even talking about the SEC. My point was that while you bust on teams like Michigan, the only real winning history you can enjoy are the Sperier years. Which of course you flew right over and began talking up the whole devision's winning ways. At least Michigan doesn't have to feed off other Big 10 teams wins to lend credance to their own record.

When yer Gaytors get into the top five in wins and winning percentages...come talk to me.

I've been to football games up north and I've been to games down south. There just ain't no comparison.

--arclite

It is not often that I whole heartedly agree with arclite, but this is one of them.

A tailgate party up north is a webber grill, some brats and a case of beer.

A tailgate party in the south is a 28' stainless steel grill, a whole hog and an 18' refrigerated bob truck loaded with kegs and multiple taps mounted to the side.

Trenton Times (AP)
Late-breaking news from the NCAA reveals that Rutgers is being investigated for "throwing" the game against Miami. The university and the athletic department have declined comment, but it is widely rumored that Rutgers coach has recently aquired a priceless Stradivarius VIOLIN. (Caps mine) Also, in the post-game interview, the coach was overheard mentioning receiving a gift of highly sought-after Free State Beer.
Opinions of the fans who were at the game were in agreement that the Scarlet Knights had the game well in hand, but seemed to lack intensity in the second half. This coincided with a supposed fan, wearing a Trail Talk tee-shirt appearing on the sidelines and talking to the Rutgers quarterback. More details to follow.

So you see, fellow college football lovers, the contest between Violin and myself to see who has the worst team cannot be fair. I should be excused from having to pay up to the lying, cheating Fiddler. I rely upon you, the jury, to judge this case.

Drat,

Cocoa just hung a banner in my office, per our bet, that says...

War Damn Eagle!!
28-23
2 in a row, 3 out of 4
(I added the note: & Tubby is STILL out on his A$$)

I'm getting used to this, and I love it! ( I added Good luck finding a new coach!)

Losing the Iron Bowl sucks.

chili, I read on a Bama board that a Bama fan came in to work 2 years ago after UT beat Bama and every other one of his ceiling tiles had been painted orange. Gotta give an A for effort and creativity there. He said it looked just like the UT endzone.

Kinda gay in a ha ha sort of way
As little as I watched the Iron Bowl I did catch Adrian Karsten's interview with one of bamer's male cheerleaders. Karsten kinda pushed him to sound off a quick War Eagle to close the interview. It was reported yesterday that he was kicked off the bamer's squad from pressure by AD Moore. If you remember he explained how he had close connections with Auburn and how his heart was still there although bamer recruited and offered him a spot to help out their squad. Looks like a lawyer's dream case.

What a bunch of freaking losers
Bammy is in such bad shape, they are worried more about a MALE CHEERLEADER than their football team.

Everybody sing along with me.
Give me a L, Give me a O, give me S, give me a E, give me an R.
What does that spell BAMA, one more time BAMA

To sum up the shape of Bama football:

Running backs turning to dope and cheerleaders getting fired, coaches propositioning dogs (I mean ugly strippers), AND A BIG FAT 28-23 LOSS to Auburn for the 2nd year in a ROW.

Got to love ol' Bammy

Bama did go overboard on the cheerleader. I take way more issue with him repeatedly saying his heart was in Auburn than I did with his half-hearted "War Eagle" cheer. Adrian Karston is a putz. He kept pushing the guy along and it looked like he wanted to tell Adrian to get lost but was trying to be polite.

As you know, the charges recently directed at me are terribly serious. They are, however, predicated on a big lie. This will be shown in court, and we will be able to put this horrible time behind us.

Because the charges are so serious, I hope you all will understand, on the advice of my attorneys, I will be limited in what I can say about the situation. There will be times when I cannot comment at all. No doubt, this will be frustrating for all of us.

For that reason, I have set up this website to serve as a source of official communications on my case. Any statement that does not appear on this website must be considered unauthorized.

You are right to be skeptical of some of the individuals who are being identified in the mass media as my friends, spokespeople, and attorneys. With few exceptions, most of them are simply filling a desperate void in our culture that equates visibility with insight. We will not engage in speculation. We will not provide running commentary on every new development or allegation du jour. We intend to try our case in the courtroom, not in the public or the media.

I thank you all for your support and understanding.

God bless you,

Violin

Two guys are moving about in a supermarket when their carts collide. One says to the other, "I'm sorry - I was looking for my wife."

"What a coincidence, so am I, and I'm getting a little desperate."

"Well, maybe I can help you. What does your wife look like?"

Some things do go over my head Nigal, but not a whole lot. There is a lot of nonsense that I CHOOSE to ignore. It helps to play in a garbage conference to rack up that many wins. Notice how Mushygone, Ohmeohmyoh St., Nebraska, and Oklahoma have high winning percentages? Two team conferences tend to inflate those stats. Mich./OSU, a yawner for dinosaur lovers.

Come on, chili, you love my ideas and you know it!

OPIE, is it still great to be an Auburn Tiger. Could the admin screw up this situation any more. They interview a coach for the job before the season is over and before they fire their current head coach. The media gets ahold of it, the prospective coach turns them down, and they still haven't fired their current coach. Nice!

Just a little blurb on the Michigan/OSU game not being the granddaddy of them all:

I’m not alone in my thinking that this is the biggest game in NCAA football. Not only did a 1999 ESPN poll name it as the biggest rivalry in college ball but it is the single greatest rivalry in ALL OF SPORTS for the last century. The only other college rivalries that even made the list were the Iron Bowl #8, and 3. North Carolina vs. Duke and THAT’S B-ball.

"1. Michigan vs. Ohio State
When Ohio Stadium opened in 1922, Michigan spoiled the party with a 22-0 victory. The rivalry was heated in the early days as both have been long-time college football powers. But it got even hotter in 1969, when Bo Schembechler took over as Michigan's coach and upset Woody Hayes' No. 1-ranked, undefeated Buckeyes. Four times in the next six years, both teams were ranked in the top five when they met. In 1970 and 1973, both were undefeated (they tied 10-10 in '73). From 1970 through 1975, Michigan entered without a loss every year. The Wolverines won just once. Ohio State was 9-0-1 in 1993, 11-0 in 1995 and 10-0 in 1996. The Buckeyes lost each time. That is rivalry."

3 words: Northern media bias. Isn't that what us Southern folks always shout when things don't go our way.

Seriously, I think it's a matter of degrees. All the Big 10 has is OSU/Michigan. That's it. It'd better be good and it looks a whole lot better than the rest of the games. There is NOTHING like the Iron Bowl, but we have plenty of games that are just a notch below. This means they don't shine quite as brightly by comparison. UT/Bama, UF/UGA, AU/UGA are very good rivalries in their own right, but they're not the Iron Bowl and they're a damn sight better than Purdue v OSU or Iowa v Purdue, etc.
