Ok, folks, time for a chili prediction.

Sabin goes to the bears.

Spurrier goes to LSU.

Chili finds plenty of new friends in Arkansas who dislike Spurrier more than he does.

I am getting a lot of chatter from our Chicago HQ that Sabin is going there.

Houston gets a free win this week.

Hopefully Army gets a coach who knows what a football looks like.

Go Army; Try not to lose!

Hey Bongo, How 'bout a little beer bet for the game on the 29th?? Are you going? (Can't remember if we talked about this last year when I was still MartyB....) Loser buys a pint for the winner at some mutually agreeable establishment in The City or Oaktown??

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - DonTrell Moore, the nation's leading scorer, ran for two touchdowns and 188 yards, setting the single-season school rushing record in New Mexico's 24-12 win over Air Force on Saturday.

Air Force (7-4, 3-3) came into the game with the nation's third best rushing attack at just under 302 yards a game, but the Falcons' option offense found few holes in the Lobos' everyone-to-the-ball defense.

Air Force finished with season lows in yards rushing (158), points and total offense (273). At the half the Falcons had just 61 yards rushing and got most of the rest after the game had been decided.

Scracthing Head

Let's see, Ohio State:
* Just beat a top ten team
* Are defending National Champs
* Place in toughest confrence in NCAA
* Have the best defense in the nation
* Have 10 wins
* Have, soon to be projected 5th toughest stregth of schedule.

LSU
- actually GAINED points in latest USA Today poll by beating (no offense dayhiker) another loosing team. It makes a ton of sense.

NOT!

As much as I hate to say it, points matter.

LSU
* Played 4 teams that have winning records (lost to one of them)
* Played only 4 teams who are or were ranked at one time. (lost to one of them)

OSU
* Played 6 teams with winning records (lost to one of them)
* Played 7 teams who are or were ranked at one time (lost to one of them)

This makes absolute sense now!

It's simple really. LSU plays in the SEC. OSU does not.

In spite of the game we had a great ball game experience. Tailgating was a blast.

UT finally generated some offense,,,,allbeit against Mississippi State. Their Defense continues to shine.

No help from Auburn, so it looks like UGA has the inside track to the SEC Championship.

Florida squeaks by....has arclite been revived yet? Has anyone checked the hospitals in Gainsville to see if he was admitted with heart related problems?

However, the big news is here in Memphis. The Tigers go on the road and crush Louisville. This is the first time since 1976 that the University of Memphis has won 7 games in a season. I follow Tiger basketball much more than football, but I have to say the electric feeling around town and the excitement generated by what should be a sure trip to a bowl is something special.

I like to see fans get excited about the progress of their team. This is what college football is all about.

I've come around to your way of thinking. The Buckeyes are the defending champs, play a tough schedule and win close games. Give em a shot at Oklahoma.

I was adopted into the Michigan family 14 years ago. My wife was born in Yipsi and at least half of her family works at the University. Her aunt was the assistant to the athletic director. I used to have great seats on the 50 every year for the OSU game . She retired and I haven’t been able to score tickets for that game sense. It’s my sincere hope that within the next few years I’ll be able to post a trip report of Mine and Buddah’s trip to the big game. LOL!

OSU/Michigan weekend is like a holy holiday. We go up and stay with family, tailgate at the game and then have a big gathering afterwards. It’s better than Thanksgiving!

Woody
Woody was famous for his hatred for Michigan and anything that had to do with the state (he referred to it, of course, as "that state up north" or "that team up north") . One night on a recruiting trip in the state of Michigan, an assistant noticed that the car he was driving was going to run out of gas. He let Woody, who was dozing in the passenger seat, that he had to pull over for gas. Woody refused, and the assistant drove on. The assistant, who saw the weather was starting to get bad, began to become worried about getting stuck in the middle of nowhere, and once again stressed his desire to pull over and get gas. Woody erupted: "No, goddammit! We do NOT pull in and fill up. And I'll tell you exactly why we don't. It's because I don't buy one goddam drop of gas in the state of Michigan! We'll coast and PUSH this goddam car to the Ohio line before I give this state a nickel of my money!" The assistant knew he wasn't kidding, and they barely made it across the border and sputtered into the first gas station they found in Ohio.

Actually, what we need here is for a couple of the top five teams to get blown out, and for TCU to run the table, thus elevating TCU to a BCS game, allowing the Liberty Bowl to take the University of Memphis.

It would be the best thing that ever happened to Memphis Tiger Football.
