Listen dude. I like you, like your posts, and am glad tou have taken a break from school to come back and join the rest of us bp'ing freaks, but we are the National Champs, which include bragging rights. I back up my smack with something called facts, and until you do, your assessment of the Buckeyes, or college football in general will be suspect.

1. If you watched the game, Ohio State dominated Bowiling Green.
2. There are about 5 MAC teams that are better than Notre Dame (including BG).
3. Thanks for all the props you gave Ohio State when they ran the table last year, I'm sure I can expect that from you again should we be fortunate agin this year.

Alabama will be 2-3 after their 5 game home stand to open the season. With wins over S. Fla and Kentucky. Then they open on the road at UGA. Lookin at 2-4.

from the Associated Press, Nov. 24, 2002: "Police fired tear gas and wooden pellets to break up rioting by college football fans who set fire to cars, threw bottles and burned furniture in the streets early Sunday in celebration of Ohio State University's victory over rival Michigan.

In the minutes after the Buckeyes' 14-9 victory, which sealed a 13-0 season for the team and a trip to the Fiesta Bowl, fans swarmed the field and threw chunks of turf at state troopers who used pepper spray to try to prevent them from pulling down the goal posts.


At least a dozen fires were later set near the Columbus campus. Police said 45 people were arrested for disorderly conduct and alcohol violations."

According to students surveyed by the Ohio State Office of Student Affairs and Center for Survey Research, students living off campus were more likely to believe that the behavior of the rioters was embarrassing to the university. (Ohio Report, 2003, p. 28)


These are facts, quoted from a variety of sources. This is opinion: OSU fans are the worst in football.

Oh and one ancedotal story: When I was at ND we played OSU in Columbus. OSU frats had "bounties" on ND students. Beat one up and get paid.

No other school continually faces these kinds of problems. 19 riots in 7 years! a state law issued to punish students who riot! C'mon BB, you have to agree that this isn't "good" behavior.


As for football accomplishments:

-you have never responded to my post about national titles, all-americans, heisman trophy winners or graduation rates. Most would consider those to be strong "facts" that point towards a school's football accomplishments. Yet you stated that ND was overrated...where are your facts to back that up?

-OSU, last year and so far this year has won all of their games. They are the top dog for now. I certainly concede that point. But it is my opinion that their luck will eventually run out, probably this season, probably during the big ten portion.

-As for ND this year, probably more than 5 MAC teams are better than us this year.

And finally, I don't know if I can honestly agree that you guys won the NC last year. Your best player was a non-student, getting paid by Columbus car dealers. Shouldn't using an illegal player disqualify all of your wins last year? Besides the 4 he sat out with an injury, of course?

Anyways, the feelings of like and respect are mutual BB. But it sure is fun to disagree with you about college football. Rock on.”

“I can't see where Ohio State is any better than Michigan. OSU struggles ( again) and barely beats (again) BGU. Oregon was a much tougher opponent for Michigan. So they lost. Big deal.
Michigan's gonna whip the Buckeyes this year.

ND is on hard times...maybe for a long time. Check their grad rates though and compare that to OSU's, or anybody's. How can they compete when boosters are paying Mo Claret and the like.

I'm pulling for VaTech ( a growing collection of "model" student athletes LOL)now although I'm not sure their D is up to stopping Miami on Nov 1. However if they get past the Canes, I could see them in the Sugar Bowl against.....? Oklahoma, Tennessee, ???”

Last year we went to the alabama-LSU game in baton rouge. They acted so terribly, I have never been happier to see a team get the ever living sh*t kicked out of them like LSU did that day. 31-0 I was yelling ROLL TIDE you MofoS all the way to the car.

There were alot of really nice people, but many were rude. It's one thing to yell for your team, it's another to yell at and cuss the other teams fans.”

My observation on being overrated is based on Notre Dame's movement in the Polls over the last ten years. It's something that would take hours for me to prove, but I think you know what I'm talking about.”

“Well, if I were to apply your rules for making a "legitimate claim" I would need for you to analyze ND's movement in the polls in the past ten years and compare that to ever D-I school. And develop some sort of metric to rate each one against the other that we can agree with. Only then would I agree to the claim that ND may be overrated once in a while (and don't get me started on some of the other schools you should really be picking on--K state, Texas and Auburn come to mind).

“Hey, Arky, unlike K-State, the Jayhawks have played only one double A team. We have played one Little Eleven team and two Mountain West teams. That's as good as most Div 1A teams.
Anyway, I do think that Texas has more talent than Arkansas and most other schools in the nation. However, that doesn't always translate into being a better team. I am willing to say that Arkansas is better, though I'll wait to see what each team does during the season to make my decision.

That was a close game until the fourth quarter. The fans went wild. I was hoping that they would be real cool about it and not tear down the goalposts. However, Missouri vs Kansas is the oldest rivalry west of the Mississipi and you gotta celebrate a win, especially after last year. I'll bet you Misery fans thought you got rid of KU's quarterback last year with your late hit. Well, your worst nightmare just came back to haunt you! I went to the game last year in Columbia, and that makes it all the sweeter.
Anyone would have to say that Mangino has this team headed in the right direction. I am happy to see them refusing to quit. This one could have gone either way until the 4th quarter.
KU's defense shut down Heisman hopeful, Brad Smith. He's only a sophomore, so he'll have another day in the sunshine. Just not THIS day!
I'm looking forward to Kansas beating Missouri two or three times in basketball, now, especially after they are put on probation by the NCAA.
