What I didn’t expect was Tennessee to have a glut of obnoxious fans. I’ve always viewed Tennessee as a classy program. Now Jawja, there’s a bunch of no-class thugs. Trailhound, the quote was in the newspaper and made its way to the Florida locker room. The players spoke about it being extra motivation. Apparently Washington has a lot of trouble keeping his mouth shut. Just like Alex Brown (ex Florida Defensive end) did a few years back, and Tennessee made Florida pay for his stupid comments. Thanks for setting me straight on the Fulmer quote. I know that Steve always had a lot of fun needling opposing coaches and it got under some folk’s skins. I would have hoped that was the spirit of Fulmer’s comment. I've always liked the guy and think he does one heck of a job both recruiting and coaching. It’s nice to know that you at least took the comment that way. I love a needling sense of humor and respect someone who tells it like he sees it.

Dayhiker, there’s a typo in your post. It should have read, “arc, you WOULDN’T hold the Bear’s jock.” You right ‘bout dat! Not only would the Bear’s jock be too small for me, I don’t hold pink jock straps.

Chili, I don’t understand how Tennessee could have dropped so far and Florida moved up so little (#7 in the AP). The GATORS are a pretty good team and I really believe that Miami is the best. Tennessee is a solid team. What I really don’t understand is how Ohio St. (with a weak win over Cincy) and Jawja could be ranked so high. Those two teams won’t last.

On a positive note, what I liked about the Florida/Tennessee game was the character Florida showed. Nobody believed in them, they were playing in front of 108,000 rabid opposing fans, and they had just finished with two disappointing games. They dug down and found some character. What a lot of folks aren’t talking about is that Florida didn’t make a lot of mental mistakes when the pressure was on. Florida put pressure on Tennessee and the VOLS messed up big time. If anybody thinks that Tennessee created all of those fumbles, penalties, and missed tackles without any help from the way the GATORS played, they don’t know how big a part momentum and the mind play in college football. Florida did what they needed to do when the pressure was on. Tennessee did the same thing last year.

Dunadan (notice how I save you for last), I said that the teeny-weeny twelve is weak but that the SEC also doesn’t look very impressive this year. Heck, the tiny (big) ten looks downright pitiful. I think we are witnessing some parity in the college game. None of the traditional “power” leagues look dominant this year. BUT THE TWELVE STOOGES LOOK ESPECIALLY PATHETIC!!”

“I remember the Gators beating the Vols in the same manner in either 96 or 98 (can't remember}. The game was in Knoxville and it was raining like crazy then too. Flordia pounded them relentlessly for the entire 1st half. The sun came out the second half of the game and Tenn started being able to play football again. Way too late though. That was the game that turned me into a Gator fan.

We actually had about a half dozen Hard core Vol fans lay out of work today. BooHooing I guess. I wore the Gator shirt today and didn't verbally rub it in to anyone and hadn't planned on it either.
Tommorrow I'll be wearing my Philadelphia Eagles shirt. I got a friend that is a DieHard Dallas Coyboy fan. hehehe

“First of all, we don't buy our players. The university itself was not found of ANY wrong doing. 3 boosters were found to be messing around where they shouldn't. Of the 3 players we got in trouble with, 2 of them were heavily recruited by Arkansas. It was down to the wire with who would get the signatures. You're nieve if you think Ark wasn't involved as well. It has already come out that Ark, Ga, and Bama were heavily involved. Also, none of those 3 players are still at the University.

Secondly, Southern Miss is typically a good team. They had the #3 running back in the country. We held him to under 60 yards. USM usually upsets one big team each year.

Franchoine never comments on injuries unless they are season ending. I'm as much in the dark as you are. I doubt they would ask the starting qb to limp off the field before the first series was even over to get the backup some experience. He is actually hurt.

Dubose's 2nd or 3rd year we got our ass whipped 42-6 in Fayetteville. That was one of the worst defeats in Alabama history. Yall dominated us in every facet of the game. I think you even had more "you knows" in the post game interview than we did.”
