In 35 years I have never seen anything like today’s game. Does 14 total yards at the half signify a pathetic offense? I think not. Calling Florida’s offense pathetic is like calling Kate Beckinsale attractive. I’d be happy to finish in the top 100 with an offense like that. How about Florida State running up the score on Samford? What an obvious example of a mean and evil coach trying to embarrass the other team. I expect much media attention on this subject followed by fan outrage. How about Georgia running up the score on Louisiana-Lafayette? What an obvious example of a mean and evil coach trying to embarrass the other team. I expect much media attention on this subject followed by fan outrage. How about Miami running up the score on Florida A&M? What an obvious example of a mean and evil coach trying to embarrass the other team. I expect much media attention on this subject followed by fan outrage. How about Wake Forest running up the score on Presbyterian? What an obvious example of a mean and evil coach trying to embarrass the other team. I expect much media attention on this subject followed by fan outrage. How about Arizona running up the score on Toledo? What an obvious example of a mean and evil coach trying to embarrass the other team. I expect much media attention on this subject followed by fan outrage. What say Dayhiker? You were on that bandwagon when Florida was scoring lots of points? Where’s your posse of indignant thought police?” 1:25:45 PM 9/04/10 “boiler down!” 4:40:59 PM 9/04/10 “I'll go ahead before the Bama game ends and point out that our freshman backup QB got playing time starting in teh 2nd qtr. Our best offensive and best defesnive players didn't play. The only way we couldn't have scored would have been to down it. arc, that Oregon game was your kind of contest. Admiral Ackbar is crying for the Rebs.” 6:30:32 PM 9/04/10 “49-7 MS STATE Go Dawgs!” 7:02:53 PM 9/04/10 “What a great day. Wife and kids were out for the day so I had football on all day. My Wolfpack played well even if it was against Western Carolina. 48-7 feels better than struggling against weak talent. And the cream on the pie ... ABC announcers are crushing the tarholes all most as bad as LSU is.” 7:11:09 PM 9/04/10 “Violin, stop wasting space in a football thread. LOL Ole Miss needs the Admiral. "It's a TRAP!!!" God the commentary on CSS, and their cameras are horrible. Tyler Watts said that it was 3rd down and Northport.” 7:28:38 PM 9/04/10 “Good lord, LSU truly sucks. They are going to have a tough season against the SEC this year.” 8:22:08 PM 9/04/10 “LSU's doing its best to **** up this otherwise delightful evening.” 8:32:45 PM 9/04/10 6 to 3???????? “The Mighty Bisons of North Dakota State takes a Big 12 team, (well, they are Big 12 as of this writing), to the woodshed. The Big Blue Jayhawks can only manage 3 points in an entire game. It is going to be a LONG season.” 9:32:29 PM 9/04/10 “Holy Cow, Dunadan! That's even worse than Florida's performance, and I didn't think anything could be worse than that. Come on over for some milk and cookies and you can regail me with stories of Kansas basketball. Or we can beat our heads against a brick wall. It would be less painful than watching our football teams this year. Yeah, Dayhiker, how about Oregon running up the score on New Mexico? What an obvious example of a mean and evil coach trying to embarrass the other team. I know the media didn't tell you how to feel about it yet but you are outraged aren't you? Oklahoma struggling with Utah St? Apparently, a number of teams needed this first scrimage to iron out "first game jitters." I can only hope that's what it was for Florida or we'll finish out of the top 25. It's hard to fathom 14 total yards in the first half and 26 total yards going into the fourth quarter. I can't wait to watch Meyer's show at 12 today. Florida will need a scrimage against South Florida just to stay within 20 points of Tennessee because Dooley is an obvious example of a mean and evil coach who will embarrass the other team by running up the score. Chili must have hope now. And we can't let that happen to someone who so obviously revels in running up the score to embarrass the other team. The only thing more pathetic than Mike Pouncy's ability to hike the ball is my ability to pick games.” 8:28:48 AM 9/05/10 “Jesus arclite, we did everything we could to not score and gave them every opportunity to at least hang 3 on the board If we had wanted to run up the score it would have been 100 to nothing I don't think we are that good but UTM is pathetic However after watching Florida and Ole Miss I don't think we are the only ones in the SEC that have issues” 12:43:26 PM 9/05/10 “Chili, you know you take great pleasure from embarrassing opponents. The mentality runs rampant throughout college football but it's especially egregious at successful programs that hire evil men like Steve Spurrier or Derek Dooley. We just need the media to lead the charge once again and convince fans to become angrily indignant over this moral outrage! That way you too can know the pleasure of sitting in a little bar in Port Angeles Washington while some moron tells you what a jerk your coach is for "running up the score." You'll probably hear it from Dayhiker too. And where is that moral crusader from California who eloquently expressed his moral outrage on this very thread? I miss him. Issues? I'd say that the Florida offense needs to be given a lobotomy, stapped in a straight jacket, and thrown into a padded room after being injected with 300mg of Clozapine. How's THAT for issues? I know for sure that I've got issues.” 2:56:46 PM 9/05/10 “I love college football, especially when your rivals associate coach and head recruiter known as "Black Santa" resigns in the face of a full blow NCAA investigation and criminal investigation by the State of North Carolina.” 5:14:43 PM 9/05/10 “Sounds as if you've got some issues too, hyway. Can't we all just get along?... ...except for violin. Nobody gets along with violin.” 5:54:41 PM 9/05/10 “oh, my, if only a tenth of the information coming out tonight is true the UNC football program is going to make what happened to SMU look like a slap on the wrist.” 9:27:32 PM 9/05/10 “Georgia State Panthers, in their inagural season, debut before 30,000+ at the Georgia Dome... crush Shorter 41-7! Fast forward to November 18th... suppose they roll into Tuscaloosa with a 10-0 record? They will be unstoppable as they face the Red Elephant and pounce upon it's chickeny back just like on the Youtube video of the rare striped panther coming out of nowhere to demolish the elephant and it's coach. Yep. I am predicting the greatest upset in organized sports history!” 5:18:15 AM 9/06/10 “A Bill Curry coached team will not beat Bama in Tuscaloosa. Bill Curry respresents all that is the pu$$ification of America.” 6:59:20 PM 9/06/10 “arc, I didn't give Oregon a second thought. Was too busy trying to pack for a family campout. I assumed they played a team that really, really sucked and couldn't help but score. We both know we disagree on this topic, it's been batted around for years, is quite boring, and I won't bother with it this year. Also, it doesn't look like UF is going to be running the score up on anyone thus making it a moot point :)” 7:01:12 PM 9/06/10 “Dayhiker, people use the excuse that they're bored, or they won't discuss, for topics about which their arguments lack any coherence. That's certainly the case for your inconsistent stance on the topic of "running up the score." Like most of the masses, you think what the media wants you to think about this topic. Florida will have trouble scoring on St. Mary's Girl's School for the Blind. But if they do, and the media complains, we can be sure you'll be on that bandwagon.” 7:16:38 PM 9/06/10 “BSU managed to come away with a win It is still too early to tell but they may have a legit claim to be in the title game if they run the table” 4:04:14 AM 9/07/10 “LOL..come on we all know the first couple of weeks the BIG boys play the insignificant schools as much for warm up as it is to pump money into the smaller school's coffers....” 6:11:28 AM 9/07/10 “BSU managed to come away with a win Extremely interesting huh, chili? And Oregon State lost to TCU so they may not be much of a challenge to Boise either. TCU vs Boise State for all thee marbles! I don't know if it's much of a win for the BCS however. You'll have one camp that believes the underdog should have a shot and you'll have another camp complaining about "strength of schedule." That sounds more like a win for the media.” 6:36:43 AM 9/07/10 “OLE MISS! OLE MISS! OOo0o0OOoOooOOOLE MISS! poor poor Houston Nutt....” 6:46:32 AM 9/07/10 “I don't think it is a win for the BCS. I imagine at the end of the year, we will have the same argument.” 7:59:33 AM 9/07/10 “The Clarion Ledger here in Jackson had the following headline in Sunday's paper.... (not the sports headline, the front page headline) "Ole Miss gets Cold Cocked" The Mississippi State fans are elated.” 8:04:28 AM 9/07/10 “GO TO HELL OLE MISS!!!!!” 8:29:59 AM 9/07/10 “Boise St. doesn't have a chance at a nat'l title wihtout running the table - and even then, their schedule looks weak compared to schools in the "power conferences". But that final touchdown sure did make them look for real. the Va Tech players LOOKED like they were beaten the whole 4th quarter.” 8:47:38 AM 9/07/10 “come on we all know the first couple of weeks the BIG boys play the insignificant schools as much for warm up Apparently not all of us know that, XL. It's not as obvious to the media nor to the media masses, XL. And you are missing the inconsistency of the way some folks think about the issue. For the media, their position is consistent inconsistency. They try to whip up the emotions of weak willed individuals in the hopes of selling their product. Why the media masses keep buying that product I'll never know. Maybe they're bored. We can understand how the media can be without consistent values because they're mostly leftists. But the fact is that it's not obvious to people who keep buying the media product that they have an inconsistent philosophy based on wherever their emotions take them today. When some teams, like Oregon, score lots of points against lesser opponents, some folks don't give it a second thought. When other teams score lots of points (especially when it's against your team), it's cause for criticism. When some coaches (such as Tom Osborn) run their offense and score lots of points throughout the game, some folks don't give it a second thought. When other coaches run their offense and score lots of points throughout the game, it's because they are a mean and evil person trying to embarrass the other team. It always depends on which team was doing the scoring, which team was getting scored upon, and/or how much attention the media pays to the issue. THAT much is obvious. But we don't all know that.” 8:55:39 AM 9/07/10 “Arclite sounds like a fan whose team managed about 12 yards of total offense in the first half.” 9:28:31 AM 9/07/10 “If that makes you feel better Arc, you just keep telling yourself that....” 9:33:17 AM 9/07/10 “http://sports.neswblogs.com/2010/09/07/espn-ole-miss-admiral-ackbar-commercial-video/ I loved the ESPN/Ole Miss commercial last night during the Boise/VT game.” 9:37:50 AM 9/07/10 “I used to really like Nutt when he was here....but man I love to hate him now!” 10:50:34 AM 9/07/10 “Your link doesn't work for me, dh.” 10:53:17 AM 9/07/10 “Working now.” 11:10:48 AM 9/07/10 ““Arclite sounds like a fan whose team managed about 12 yards of total offense in the first half.” Chili, there were varying statistics from different sources on that subject. The one I SAW said 14 yards. You make it sound so pathetic when you quote sources saying 12. Are you being evil and trying to humiliate your opponent here?” 12:32:51 PM 9/07/10 “And if you're nice and comfy with your head buried in the sand, Strat, go for it. All schools are treated fairly and equally aren't they? Because I was watching ESPN where a pundit made sure to point of Tennessee's off-field troubles this year as part of a slam on the SEC. What I didn't hear was any mention of this: According the WNDU, eight Notre Dame football players were among 43 students arrested Friday night after police were called with complaints about an off-campus party. http://www.uhnd.com/articles/football/players-arrested-party-6842/ Nor did they mention this: Notre Dame football player from New Jersey arrested for marijuana possession http://www.nj.com/sports/njsports/index.ssf/2010/05/notre_dame_player_from_new_jer.html According to your view, it must have just been an oversite, huh.” 3:25:30 PM 9/07/10 5:16:31 AM 9/09/10 “now that right der's funny, i don't care who ya are. long live the wal-mart wolverine!” 7:27:20 AM 9/09/10 “The Michigan fans I've met were all very nice folks. The Iowa fans I've met were all extremely nice folks. The Penn St. fans I've met were aloof; an attitude that was epitomized by Jeremy Brown during the WPT tournament at the Borgata Poker Open in Atlantic City NJ. At one point, Brown had ninety-five percent of the chips in heads-up play. But Brown had it all. He had the aloof Penn St attitude. He had the arrogance that comes from being a financial youngster (accountant) working in the NYC area. And he had an unquenchable thirst for beer which he continued to chug throughout the tournament. In a real-life reenactment of The Hustler, Brown was "swimming in glory" like the born loser George C. Scott talked about in The Hustler. He got so cocky that his play became sloppy, his decisions worse, and his collapse total. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S8ipQ5G1K0w&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZIk8p4_U-Q&feature=related I don't normally root for people to fail but it was a joy to watch this cocky, arrogant, tri-state financial know-it-all get his comeuppance. http://www.worldpokertour.com/Live_Updates/Post.aspx?q={81C90448-05DF-47A8-9250-A4386A738972} The Ohio St. fans I've met (and I even met one while on vacation in Hawaii) were all a monument to jackass, rude, trailer trash behavior. M-Go-Blue this weekend baby!” 11:43:07 AM 9/09/10 “A Florida fan accusing someone af being trailer trash Oh the horror” 6:15:58 PM 9/09/10 “Ha ha ja ha ha!” 6:40:34 PM 9/09/10 “You SEC people think you are hot shiit with your disreputable recruiting, academic cheating, dealings with agents and so on. Well you're gonna look like choir boys when you get a good look at the UNC Tarheel program. I might bet money that Head Coach Butch Davis will be gone before their next game (Georgia Tech two Saturdays from now.)” 6:52:29 PM 9/09/10 “This was just posted by a poster who has been money all summer about the tarheel mess we affectionately call Tarmageddon WaffleIron wrote: What I heard tonight: Before the semester is over expect (Dec I guess?) Baddour, Butch and the entire coaching staff, the entire compliance department, multiple professors, athletic dept personnel, football operations personnel, etc. to ALL get the axe with some sooner than later. Thorpe is gonna start scalping people. Namely Chief.” 7:48:56 PM 9/09/10 “I would never accuse Tennessee fans of being trailer trash. Trailer trash is a step up from Tennessee fans. Gosh dang, hyway. You sound like me... at my best. Too bad about Miss St, Stove, but it was a great game for a detached fan. It was a tough defensive battle and this fan likes tough defense. I've always liked Miss St because they usually play the Gators tough. But we don't have much history. I've always liked Auburn because the yearly Florida-Auburn game used to be smash-mouth football at its best. So for this detached fan it was fun to watch with nothing to lose. It was interesting to see how the few (compared to Florida) bad snaps took Miss St out of their rhythm. I hope Mike Pouncey was watching. Mullen took some chances. I hope he'll be a good coach for y'all. But he was coaching against another former Gator, Gene Chizik. The crucial difference in the game was probably that the waterboy for Miss St didn't keep the players hydrated well enough. He was most likely from Tennessee. That's about all a Tennessee grad is qualified for. Great games this weekend! Oh joy! Oh bliss!” 7:10:49 AM 9/10/10 “Las Vegas has 5 to 1 odds that the majority of Jayhawk fans will leave the stadium before the middle of the 2nd quarter while Ga.Tech whups up on some Blue boys.” 2:30:28 PM 9/10/10 “Whoop up on some blue boys two weeks in a row please” 4:01:14 PM 9/10/10 “Marshall is playing well against West Virginia. Ex-Gator Doc Holiday has done a good job. It's been fun to watch all those ex-Gator assistants this year. Mullen at Miss. St., Chizik at Auburn, and Strong at Louisville. The next time I want to see how good a job those ex-Tennesse coaches are doing I'll contact Cletus' Septic Suckers to find out where he's got that crew workin' on Porta-Potties.” 5:18:37 PM 9/10/10 “Sanders at Kentucky and Chaviz at LSU are doing better than anyone you mentioned from Florida Of course I wouldn't expect anything more from a UF grad” 6:28:58 PM 9/10/10 “Go Marshall, GO!!!” 6:37:17 PM 9/10/10 “Holy crap - what a game!!!” 7:26:19 PM 9/10/10 Jump to Page << prev
