Suppossedly the UGA player has come out stating that the UF player didn't do anything, and didn't bother him.

Damn trying to keep street cred up and not "snitch" on a brother!

I was surprised that the SEC approved the discipline from U of F. The GA player should have been disciplined as well - he did the same thing a play or two earlier. Sure it goes on in lots of piles, but going for eyeballs probably doesn't happen all that often or we'd have a lot more blind players. They both crossed the line. A full game would have at least been sorta meaningfull - but even that would be pretty light considering the opponent this week.

The SEC should have imposed their own penalty against both players.

Kansas and Kansas State were both trying to lose last Saturday. Kansas won at losing.
Will there be another victory for the Mighty Jayhawks this season? Stay tuned.

Heads up! Mark the Mangenious is under investigation at KU. Players are accusing him of something, but the school won_t let it out. I_m guessing he_s stealing the team_s cheeseburgers.
Or, maybe it_s the school_s way of getting out of his contract.....

We play Alabama this weekend, and although we are a much improved team, we are not up to the task of playing the #2 FBS team in the country. Hopefully we can keep it respectable, stay injury free, and of course get a check that does not bounce.

Who in their right minds would take the job, Dunadan?

Fatty Arbuckle may be a Grade "A" Prick, but he brought the Retarded Crows from laughing stock to respectable in record time. He stumbled for five games and they want to toss him out.

What coach would want to step into that?

Better get used to being strictly a basketball school again.

Yep, I_m thinking it_s gotta be either Charlie Weis, Ralph Friedgen (sp?), Fulmer or someone with a little girth. We don_t want to lose any weight with the football world.
Yo, Violin, the word around town is that life is finally back to normal. A lot of people are breathing a sigh of relief. It_s like we all went on a simultaneous acid trip and imagined that we lived in a football town for a couple of years. Weird and trippy!

No, it was more like 48-0 or something like that. We pretty much ran a vanilla running O all 2nd half as opposed to our semi-vanilla running O we usually run. I think we gave up around 80 yards of offense.

Dayhiker it was my Chattanooga team you all were playing, and yes you probably could have put 100 up if you really tried, but the final score was 45-0.

Unfortunately, it will probably be a long time before another FCS school upsets a top tier FBS school, and Alabama is a lot better this year than the Michigan Team, that Appy State beat a few years ago and unfortunately we are not as good as Appalachian State yet either (although we are getting there).

Good luck against Florida

Yes, we have been I-AA since the split in the early 1980`s. We had some monster teams under Joe Morrison in the late 70`s early 80`s but it has been all downhill from there. We have only had two winning seasons in the past 20 years, but we just hired a new coach, an alum (`82), Russ Huesman, that has really re-energized the program and we went 6-5 this year with basically the same personnel we had last year when we went 1-11.

The best part is, Coach Huesman, came out and said that we as fans, the players, and coaches, shouldn`t be content with 6-5, and that anything short of a playoff birth is unacceptable. We had 4 starters hurt and out for the season, and he never once made an excuse. We had depth (we only dressed 17 defensive players - many true or red-shirt freshmen), and size (our O-line has 2 converted tight ends and a defensive tackle starting, and an average weight of around 255) issues this year, but played hard all game every game. I am so excited, I am tired of being only a "basketball school".

BTW: We play Auburn next year.

Terrell Owens is a UTC alum, correct? I also think our ex-DC Bill Oliver was a HC there at one time. Oliver was our DC in the Sugar Bowl against Miami when we won the NC. Dude is a heck of a defensive coach.

Glad to hear the optimism and that things are on the rise.

PS, do you live in the Chattanooga area?
dayhiker
7:34:19 AM
11/24/09

I do still live in the Chattanooga area.

Terrell Owens is a UTC alum. We actually had a receiver this year (Blue Cooper) break his career receptions record.

Bill Oliver was a head coach of the Mocs, he took over after Joe Morrison left for USC and had some very good teams in the early 80`s. Our new coach, Russ Huesman, was a player(safty) under Morrison and Oliver.

There are actually quite a few other Chattanooga-Alabama ties:

Alabama hired head coach Frank Thomas away from Chattanooga

Alabama also had a coach named Red Drew that was a former Chattanooga head coach

Chattanooga gave former Tide head coach Mike Dubose his first collegiate coaching job.

Our Current Athletic Director Rick Hart is the son of Dave Hart, the current Executive Director of Athletics for the Tide, and former FSU Athletic Director.

Way back in the day, the Alabama job was offered to the legendary Chattanooga coach, Scrappy Moore. Moore turned down the job but recommended a coach named Paul Bryant. Bear would regularly call Scrappy Moore for advice

Chattanooga and Alabama also have had the same AD in Steve Sloan.
