The Broncs are a shoe-in for the BCS (providing they get past Frez? No state!. Too bad, prolly. They'll get their comeuppance Hawai'ian style by some SEC also-ran.

So I am on the alabama coast where my dear mother only has rabbit ears on the tv. My son and I figured there was no chance to watch UT football. However today is our day and low and behold we got the game on tv. So far we have seen more offense from UT than we saw in almost all of last year.

I can't brag about that J State game. They are an AA team, but a win is a win, and I don't expect to many more this season.

So far this afternoon, the SEC has kicked butt, except for GA.

We're gift wrapping some of this for them. I can't believe the leader of our D lost his composure like that. It gave them that TD after we got a 15 yard loss on them. Crap.

Oh, and yet they lead at the half.

Oklahoma must have needed Bradford pretty badly. He goes out of the game and OK loses to BYU. Bad way to start the season. Can't wait until OK comes to Lawrence.
How 'bout them Cowboys? Big 12 - 1 SEC - 0.
Jayhawks roll against Northern Colorado. Yawn..... Maybe it's better than an inter-squad scrimmage.
Charleston scores 3 on the Gators. Moral victory.
Gotta get back to the Bama game....

Ha! Alabama wasn't messing around on that last score. Congratulations, Dayhiker and all the Crimson Tide fans.
Look out for the Jayhawks' second string QB. He is a big kid who can tuck and run. The future might be looking good for KU.

What are you doing on here during the game, dayhiker? Get the heck back to your chips, dip, and comfy chair.

We'll find out how much offense Tennessee really has in two weeks. They sure look better than they have in the past.

OSU was exposed? Do you mean TOSU was exposed? Because Oklahoma State took care of Georgia and their inexperienced quarterback. Georgia should get better as Cox gains experience but Georgia's defense sure didn't impress.

Exposed? What about Oklahoma? Dang, you'd think they were Michigan the way they got their pants pulled down to reveal their little pigs-in-a-blanket.

PAC-10 thugs. Where the heck is that Southern Cal bozo? He could use a good kicking... again.

But what really has me freaked is that Wounded Knee is gonna drop the Gators from #1. Good lord I wonder how far he'll drop them? I wonder how that will effect their national ranking? I'm just so upset.

Troy, now there's a powerhouse. One more scrimmage before SEC prime time.

Rock, Chalk, Jayhawk! You've got to like the Jayhawk's chances against Oklahoma. Even before Bradford went down they didn't look very good.

Arkansas could be a sleeper this year, strat. I know some Florida folks who are concerned about that game.

Gotta love that media hype, Dunadan. It allows retarded (excuse me, those who are unencumbered by the thought process) folks like Nigal to have emotional reactions to nonsensical information.

On almost every game I watched, from Thursday through yesterday, the announcers mentioned something about the SEC. Yessir, despite my feeling that strength-of-schedule would dominate the idiocy this year, SEC over-hype seems to be this year's bandwagon... so far.

It just goes to show how behind the curve the media really is. Heck, I've been hyping the SEC for years. The statistics back that point of view, and have for years. But once the media gets hold of an issue, they subjectively analyze it to insanity.

Georgia really disappointed me. I had that game as one of my picks and Georgia was getting six. Cox will improve but I thought their defense would be better than that.

Oh well, most folks think that Georgia is about the fifth best team in the SEC. And most folks seem to think OSU is about the third best team in the big-12. That seems to be a fair match-up.

Only time will tell how accurate "most folks" are.

That NC State/S Carolina game was uuuuuggggleee. In fact a lot of games looked ugly. And that's why I like Florida's creampuff early schedule. As ugly as those third and fourth string guys looked, they still weren't in danger of losing and they got experience. Heck, I had to go deep into my roster because I didn't recognize anyone out there. An awful lot of freshmen got experience yesterday. We had our fourth string quarterback out there at the end.

Tebow came out before halftime so his stats weren't impressive. I wonder if we'll see that statistics issue come up from those who are looking for an excuse not to give Tebow the Heisman this year.

The fact that Tebow had more first place votes than any candidate and still finished third in the Heisman voting last year is a testament to those who are looking for any and all excuses.

...And those who vote against him because they're tired of THAT hype.

See this is what I love about football. It takes your mind off of life for a little while and allows you to just not worry about the troubles in life. For instance; I have no doubt that as Arc watched the Flowrida game he didn't think once about the fact that he has no dick.

It's a wonderful thing I tell ya. Um football that is, not Arc's non-dick. :)

N, RichRod was set to take the Bama gig before Saban. Some folks think that our AD purposely lowballed him so that he'd pass and we could get Saban. Shula was fired over Thanksgiving weekend and Saban wasn't hired until after New Years. That was a long wait for our fan base and in the interim we flirted with RichRod. He actually accepted the job, flew back to WV pending some paperwork, they counter offered and the signed paperwork never showed up in T-town. We dodged a bullet on that one.

He actually can coach, he just may not be a fit for the blue bloods in MI. He sucked his first year at WVU but then totally turned them around. Alabama native Pat White didn't hurt either though.

Troy has Meyer's attention fur shur. I had a friend of mine who played for Troy. He said those were the days back when Alabama would march onto the field with twice as many players as his Troy team.

Rodr is a good coach and it's baffling as to why he can't work with the players he's got. Boy I could say something about his option needing fast athletic players rather than the slow, fat, plodders in the dink-ten but I'll avoid that insult.

Meyer had to adjust to Chris Leak when he came to Florida. He wanted to install his spread right away but Leak was a drop back passer. It took Meyer a couple of games to adjust his scheme. But then he adjusted to the personnel as opposed to adjusting the personnel to fit the scheme.

You'd think there could be some happy medium reached. It's not as if Michigan suffers from a huge lack of talent.

I mean what kid wouldn't want to play for Michigan? Ice fishing and igloo building for recreation. Early morning practice in bitter cold. A below ground level field with drainage problems that freezes to rock hardness. Fans who get to sit still for extended periods of time in a concrete stadium, waiting for your team to do something exciting, watching a football game in the freezing cold and snow. WOW! What's not to love about that?

Having your lips stuck to your girlfriend's lips after kissing is a big plus too.

JC and God were being invoked at my house too. Although I'm not sure I made any brownie points with either. Georgia was the only game I lost this week. I was 2-1 against the spread again.

Rutgers? Well what can I say but that I left my house at 5 to attend yoga class and was spared most of that tragedy.

Schiano is way to predictably conservative most of the time. But then he takes risks when he should be more conservative: Like passing for an interception instead of trying for a few yards and an easier field goal in the first half. That was a momentum killer.

But maybe that was the quarterback's fault. Decision making by the quarterbacks was shaky at best. Still, Rutgers can salvage a good season. But I'm afraid, much like Oklahoma, they're probably out of the National Championship picture.
