Maybe we can undo cocoa's play by play though. It sucked.” 12:56:56 PM 6/22/09 “I think we give our books back to the SUPe store, and redo the hike.” 8:34:51 PM 6/22/09 “SEC...crooked as a dog's hind leg... Better to be an honest non-contender than a crooked winner.” 3:21:15 AM 6/23/09 “Nigal....ease up on the hate dude (LOL) just because yoru teams get spanked each time they play the SEC is no reason to be angry. Look Ohio State got mauled by LSU because Playing Kent State as a big game really won't prepare you for the SEC...(LOL).” 5:04:23 AM 6/23/09 “As long as I don't have to carry those two packs back UP the trail, we can change whatever we want.” 8:54:25 AM 6/23/09 INVASION! “Hey,Dayhiker. I've seen two vehicles in my humble burg in the last two days with Alabama tags. The first one was a pickup with Tide stickers, so I didn't think much about it. The second one was a Lexus with a huge Jayhalk decal on the tailgate. Which one was yours????” 10:04:50 AM 6/23/09 “Mine was the no account pickup.” 11:23:15 AM 6/23/09 “I don't know what came over me with my last post. I felt a need to stir the pot and that's never happened before. I'm all for a repeat of Footballapalooza. And you can call me whatever you like, Dayhiker. I never pay attention to what you say anyway. When Florida had it's HUGE cheating scandal back in the 80's, where Galen Hall was forced to resign (and was unabashedly scooped up by Penn. St. and the dink-10), the MAJOR violations mostly concerned the coaches buying cheeseburgers for the players on road trip games. WOOP-DEE-DOO Now when your hockey players beat up your football players you've got a LOT bigger problems. Maybe Michigan should suit up their hockey players so they wouldn't play like a bunch of pink underwear pansies. Everyone should thank me now for settin' myself up. Don't anyone slip on their own drool as they await the 2009 college football season... ... and the complete DOMINANCE of the UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA FIGHTIN' GATORS. last edited: 6/23/09 11:16:38 AM” 11:25:58 AM 6/23/09 “And I guess I will have to walk back down from Silar's Bald and help haul your sorry ass back up the hill again, won't I?” 12:16:10 PM 6/23/09 “arc, if you'll remember, that's what we called you on the trip. You had a meeting with nature one morning, I heard rumblings in the bushes, and thought you were a bear. These geriatric folks today, can't remember enough to know if we're teasing with them or at them.” 12:31:09 PM 6/23/09 “So, Dayhiker, why didn't you stop by and say hello? Afraid of my football team???” 1:18:58 PM 6/23/09 “Kansas has a football team?” 1:23:44 PM 6/23/09 LOL. Florida “ ”1:26:10 PM 6/23/09 “Actually, now that you mention it, Day, the more deluded around these parts are predicting a top 10 finish this season, since most of the Jayhawks' potent offense returns this season. I can't see it, since KU plays the tougher schedule that includes Okie and the Shorthorns. If they can patch together a defense, they might make some noise. Keep your eyes open for a mythical bird on the national scene. In any case, I hope the Jayhawks can play some team from the SEC in a bowl and crush them unmercifully. (trash talk?)” 1:29:28 PM 6/23/09 “It'd be pretty awesome for yall to jump out and get one of the big boys in conf. Texas Tech should fall back to earth this year. I'm torn on Bama this year. We have one, unexpected great year and the loonies come out of the woodwork like we've been doing this for the last decade. Uhh, we've sucked for much of the last decade. We lose 3 on the OL, 2 TE's, TB, and QB on O. We have a tough schedule, but the LSU, Ole Miss, and VT games should be huge. We're opening in the Georgia Dome again against VT. The last time we played them was about 97 in the Music City Bowl. They spanked us big time. All that said and looking at our schedule, I see at least 10 wins.” 1:34:30 PM 6/23/09 “There are some interesting memories here. Fantasyland is alive and well. No Dayhiker, that’s what YOU decided to call me after you pooped your pants when I came walking out of the bushes after pooping my pants. And I guess chili won’t have to walk back down from Silar's Bald and help haul my ass back up the hill again, because he didn’t do that in the first place. As I recall, and the last guy (Jeremy?) to pass me can affirm, I was lying on the grass at the top of a mountain enjoying the breeze and taking my time at my usual 2mph pace. Meanwhile all you city boys were racing each other to the next campsite to prove…what?… That you don’t enjoy spending time in the woods? That you can't slow down and relax? That yall are really Damn Yankee Noo Yawk wanna-bees? Is that a picture of your mama, XL? I'll bet there's a strong family resemblance. It looks like she's got her mouth open talking nonsense. Just like her boy. Everyone in the country knows what Florida’s mascot looks like. Being National Champions two out of the past three years will do that for your team. Well, maybe not your team, XL. Get used to it boys. I don’t expect our defense to fold like Ohio State’s “stellar” defenses did. Everyone seems to be excited about Tebow returning. Me? I’m excited that all 22 first and second string defenders are returning along with some of the past recruits looking to take their jobs. You know, the same young defense that held an Oklahoma team that hadn’t scored less than 45 points in a game all year, and averaged over 51 points per game, to 14 points. A young defense that held Oklahoma, a team that set the NCAA season scoring record of 702 points, to 14 points. A young defense that held Oklahoma, a team that averaged over 198 rushing yards per game, to 107 yards rushing. A young defense that held Oklahoma, a team that averaged over 349 yards per game, to 256 yards. A "traditionally" tough Florida defense that Dayhiker was foolish enough to question before they held Alabama to a total of 1 yard in the fourth quarter of the SEC Championship Game. A defense that was still mostly underclassmen last year. That’s what I’m waiting to see. Are you coming down for the game this year, chili? I can carry your sorry ass out of the stadium after you faint when your sorry team gets their sorry asses kicked. Lick yer chops and drool on gentlemen... last edited: 6/23/09 7:51:06 PM” 7:56:57 PM 6/23/09 “arclite has a small dick...” 2:32:40 AM 6/24/09 “Everyone in the country knows what Florida's mascot looks like---arclite Well, except maybe Florida. Remember when yall put a crocodile on the front of your media guide?” 4:59:18 AM 6/24/09 “Florida, home to the New Jersey rejects.” 7:08:53 AM 6/24/09 “LOL..good reply Arc, I have to say I am slightly impressed with the Quarterback there. Gotta admit you just don't normally get QUALITY like him (not on the field but off the field). I had to throw the geico Gecko in there..its a running joke around here.” 7:15:45 AM 6/24/09 “I love how arc accuses Bama fans of being prideful. Pride, table for two. last edited: 6/24/09 7:26:36 AM” 7:36:54 AM 6/24/09 “day I love SEC intergroup battles. The fun part is when we play the 'lesser" Conferences. I am a Georgia Bulldog Fan but the cool part is showing up at to watch the LSU OHIO state abuse....a station full of Purple and Gold. And I loved every minute of it. My Boss got ticked last year when I pulled for Florida in the Championship. Sorry but when we leave the SEC I still cheer for the only real Conference.” 8:05:21 AM 6/24/09 “I think ya'll hillbillies need to have butt sex and relieve the tension in the air on this thread.” 10:46:10 AM 6/24/09 “I think the tension is solely coming from one direction.” 11:23:29 AM 6/24/09 “It the fans from inferior conferences that tend to get tense here.” 11:42:18 AM 6/24/09 “So what you're saying, dayhiker, is that the whole thing could be solved if arclite would simply go fukc himself? LOL!” 1:09:42 PM 6/24/09 “ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK KAAYYYYYYY UUUUUUUUUUU !!!!!!!!!!!! (I know you're all jealous!)” 5:17:07 PM 6/24/09 “In think we should just not play the 09 season and go ahead and crown Florida as NC, Tebow gets the Heisman, and their entire returning 22 on D as the 1st and 2nd team AP All-American team.” 6:12:48 AM 6/25/09 “I thought Tebag was going for immortality this year?” 6:39:32 AM 6/25/09 “Nigal, Tebow, regardless of what you may think of the Florida Geckos (LOL, is an incredible story for rising atheletes. Lord knows listening to his story and his life is somewhat refreshing after hearing for months about Michael Vick (LOL).” 6:49:42 AM 6/25/09 10:01:37 AM 6/25/09 “I couldn't quite get a glimpse of Chili directing that chorus, but I know he was there. Poor, abused kids.” 12:29:26 PM 6/25/09 “he was off camera with the AK pointed at them (LOL)” 12:32:00 PM 6/25/09 “Sorry, Dayhiker, there’s no room for fans of second-rate teams at the GATOR HEAD TABLE. If you had a poll vote, Dayhiker, I’d think you the most intelligent gentleman in the world. But even without a poll vote you’re absolutely correct. Tebow wins the Heisman again and Florida wins the Mythical National Championship again. It’s a foregone conclusion. Don’t wet yourself thinking about cutting and pasting that quote in the future. Tebow is quite the class act theXL. Danny Wuerffel is too. Emmitt Smith is too. Between the three of them, it makes up for some of the less savory characters we’ve had like those who seem to find their way to every institution. And then there are those institutions that are famous for the unsavory behavior of their players, especially those thugs at Michigan who are always fighting with their hockey players. You’ve always got to feel good when a role model like Tebow comes to your school. He’s a hell of a football player but an even better human being. And as far as your other post, it really surprised me to read the Oklahoma fan sites where they said they hated to root for the other teams in their conference. I root for EVERY SEC team against ANY non-conference opponent. I don’t understand those fans that say they like competition but don’t feel some measure of respect and brotherhood for the other teams in their own conference. Heck, Radagast was teasing me because I was wearing Georgia colors while riding around New England during Laconia. What can I say? I like red and black. It doesn’t make sense not to root for the other teams in your own conference on a lot of levels. I even root for FSU to go undefeated before we play them. It doesn’t do my team any good in the polls to beat a team with a mediocre record. Some of those Florida/FSU games in the 90s brought big national attention to both schools. Beating an undefeated team only helps my team. And winning all those bowl games only helps my conference, which helps my team with bowl money and recruiting. I really don’t get how some folks think. A good fan has respect for his opponent. And you would surely know about size, Nigal, after taking it all these years. You bigass sumbich. last edited: 6/25/09 6:21:18 PM” 6:31:44 PM 6/25/09 “So many bama fans want Auburn to go 0-fer. Aubies want us to do the same. BS, I want us to both be 11-0 going into that last game. I pull for conf team and especially state teams. It has been tough to pull for UT of late though, but I'm getting past that. I totally agree with your post David. I think people like to hate on Tebow because of the media orgasm over him. It doesn't change who he is or what he stands for.” 7:44:26 PM 6/25/09 “We are world wide, baby!” 8:07:58 PM 6/25/09 “I love the predictions on a run up to the BCS games. LOL. They poor mouth SEC teams against the "lesser conferences". But you gotta admit the LSU Ohio State BCS game was hilarious.” 5:43:51 AM 6/26/09 “The Bama/Utah game was sad.” 6:18:20 AM 6/26/09 “SEC against the world. I would rather my team be at the bottom of the SEC than the top of joke conferences like OS.” 7:11:01 AM 6/26/09 “And you would surely know about size, Nigal, after taking it all these years. I expect nothing less from a Gaytor fan! 8) BTW- have I ever told you you have a kind chin? LOL!” 7:16:06 AM 6/26/09 “i'm hoping Auburn goes 0-11 this year... and they have to get on their knees and beg tuberville back, he says no, and they get stuck with a bowden son again.” 9:45:16 AM 6/26/09 “Nigal, according to you, how much less can you expect? In my previous post I was going to say something about you having been reamed so often by big beefy OSU linemen that boinking you is like sticking my pinky finger in a 50 gallon drum but that would have been totally uncalled for. By gosh! Could you actually imagine me saying something like that? Every year I drag myself through the mud (hopefully) for the amusement of others but even I have limits... ...I just haven't reached them yet. Bama loosing to Utah was sad. There was no glee in my house. Bama played good ball last year and I hated to see them go down like that. Some of my favorite SEC Championship memories are of Florida/Bama. And the game announcers were all talking about how the SEC Championship game was one of the great games of 2008. Those are the battles I relish no matter how much nonsense I spew before and afterwords. Dayhiker, has it been hard to root for UT because of the alleged tattling, or what? I used to despise Georgia but have overcome that because we spank them like drunken monkeys every year now. Winning heals a lot of pain. This year, Florida will will finally have an all-time winning record against Tennessee. I miss those ferocious UT battles but I'm looking forward to that stat. My prediction: It's gonna get ugly for the Florida/UT game in The Swamp this year, real ugly. Kiffin has no fans in Gainesville. Kansas: Home to the OZ rejects.” 8:15:23 PM 6/26/09 “you having been reamed so often by big beefy OSU linemen that boinking you is like sticking my pinky finger in a 50 gallon drum I was always partial to "but it's like throwing a hot dog down a hallway.". LOL!” 5:31:57 AM 6/27/09 “I have bad memories of someone trying to play a joke on me with a hot dog. Actually, I'll bet his memories are worse. I have been reading some of the preseason magazines. I have read Lindy’s, Sporting News, Athlon, and the most accurate magazine over the past 10 years (I know that because he keeps saying so over and over throughout his magazine), Phil Steele’s. I hope some of you folks have read Street and Smith’s, Game Plan, Preview Sports, and Jim Fiest’s, to fill in the gaps. I don’t think Sports Illustrated and ESPN Magazine come out until later. After 2006 & 2007 I would have expected better truth in journalism. Old habits die hard and, with journalists, stuck-on-stupid is the habit. Now, I like Kirk Herbstreit. He’s usually very knowledgeable and insightful. He usually does his homework and is well informed. So how can I explain this: “Herbstreit insists the Big Ten is just as fast at the skill positions as any other conference. The difference comes on the defensive line, where elite teams in the South tend to produce faster linemen than the Midwest. “When you look at the defensive line and linebackers in the SEC, they’re trimmer and faster,” Herbstreit said.” Lindy’s 2009 College Preview; pg 31. For years we’ve heard journalists pontificate about the slower, bigger, Big Ten power vs. the speedy, smaller, SEC finesse. Am I wrong to believe that 2006 & 2007 should have put that myth to rest once and for all? According to Terrance Cody (Alabama’s nose guard) himself, he has wasted away from last year’s weight of 365lbs to around 350lbs. That still seems pretty big to me. Those Big Ten guys must be monsters. Wait… According to the preseason magazine projected lineups: Florida has 5 defensive tackles, in their three-deep rotation, that weigh over 300 lbs. Ohio St. has one guy at exactly 300 lbs in their two-deep. Penn St. has three guys over 300 lbs in their two-deep. Michigan has two guys over 300 lbs in their two-deep. Something doesn’t seem right here. Maybe Herbstreit was talking about “trimmer and faster” defensive ends? Florida has a 290lb defensive end. Carlos Dunlap was MVP of the BCS Championship last year. This year he may be a backup. Alabama has a 315lb DE. No 290lb DEs for Ohio St. No 290lb DEs for Penn. St. No 290lb DEs for Michigan I can’t find any 290lb DEs listed for any Big Ten team. Something doesn’t seem right here. What about those “trimmer and faster” linebackers? Florida’s middle backer, Brandon Spikes, is 6’-3”, 258lbs. Ohio St.’s biggest linebacker is 234lbs Penn. St.’s biggest linebacker is 236lbs Michigan’s biggest linebacker is 240lbs Something doesn’t seem right here. Maybe they misquoted Herbstreit when he was really talking about those “trimmer and faster” SEC offensive linemen? Florida’s O-line averages 318lbs (but that stat is skewed because of our tiny 291lb center). Alabama’s O-line averages 311lbs. Ohio St.’s O-line averages 308lbs Penn. St.’s O-line averages 309lbs Michigan’s O-line averages 290lbs Something doesn’t seem right here. Maybe Herbstreit was really trying to say that the SEC is “trimmer and faster” than most of the other powerhouse conferences? Texas’ O-line averages 310lbs Oklahoma’s O-line averages 300lbs USC’s O-line averages 290lbs Something doesn’t seem right here and I am so disillusioned.” 7:31:18 AM 7/02/09 “arc they are comparing the players to the college students? Come on 300+lbs at Florida...thats a trim Co-ed foryou guys right? (LOL) (Ducking and running for cover)” 7:49:23 AM 7/02/09 “Who is our 315 # DE? Marcel Dareus would be my guess. In Saban's 3/4 D, our DE's are really DE/DT's, with Cody in the middle as noseguard. We have a bigger than usual DL and LB's that are big, fast, and mean. Our D is going to be awesome this year.” 8:04:23 AM 7/02/09 “It's the beans and ham with cornbread that does it. Oh, and the biscuits and gravy.” 8:13:17 AM 7/02/09 Jim Bob Cooter “http://www.wate.com/global/story.asp?s=10628232 Former Vols backup QB Cooter arrested for burglary KNOXVILLE (WATE) -- Former Tennessee backup quarterback Jim "Bob" Cooter was arrested on June 27 for a burglary in the Fort Sanders neighborhood. Cooter, 24, of Indianapolis, Indiana, is charged with aggravated burglary. He was arrested at 2:40 a.m. that Saturday at an apartment complex at 2201 Franklin Station Way. A woman called 911 to report that someone had broken into her home. When police arrived, they heard the woman scream for someone to get out of her room. As officers broke through the door, the woman ran from the bedroom. Officers found Cooter lying in the bed. That's where he was arrested. The woman said Cooter had broken in through a bedroom window. Officers found the screens of both windows had been removed. While he played for Tennessee, Cooter was arrested and charged with DUI in June 2006, earning him a team suspension. In 2007, Cooter was a graduate assistant on the Tennessee staff.” 9:28:50 AM 7/02/09 “oh good grief..... XL, i used to live in FL and from my "observations" you'd have to come up with about 3 of the FL co-eds to get to 300 pounds ;) and every one of those pounds was pretty much in exactackally the right place.” 9:41:37 AM 7/02/09 Jump to Page << prev
