Son of a gator! I make fun of the SEC playing creampuff teams like Troy all last year, and who is on OSU's schedule for game #2? Troy.

I wonder if the girls in skirts up North are playing App State again this year?

I'm looking forward to OSU's 4th National title game this decade, and seeing if the Tide can win the SEC with one heck of a recruiting class.

My only prediction this year - Wells over Tebow for the Heisman, and he wins it stiff arming the crap out of Michigan in November to go over 2,000 yards.

SEC Report:

They are all over-rated, but Georgia wins the SEC over-rated team of the pre-season award. Florida will be tough, until Tebow goes down with an injury, and Tenn will be the sleeper there this year, but will lose 3 games by less than 3 points, prompting chili to call for Fullmer's resignation for the 11th straight year.

Big Ten Report:

Michigan sucks. This will be JoPa's last year. Michigan State is the darkhorse this year, with top 25 seasons coming out of Illinois, Wisconsin, OSU, Penn State & Michigan STATE.

OSU v. USC - should be a good game - watch for Mr. Pryor to be a huge factor. I predict a Buckeye win (as usual).

Best of the Rest - check out Rutgers recruiting class for 09' - top ten! West Virginia will melt down again in the late season...

more to come from the birthplace of football.

Illinois got smoked in the Rose Bowl, as everyone predicted. They have a chip on their shoulder this year though. They will get better, probably this year. As every one who looks at recruiting knows, there is a good chance it will be this season. But we will see.

As all of you know, and none of you can deny, Kansas was the National Champions last season due to only one loss.
However, a new season is dawning and challenges await the Mighty Jayhawks. Such as playing the Sooners in Norman. Uncle Dunny says those boys know how to play at home and KU goes down to defeat. The rest of the schedule looks winable, but I'm predicting 3-4 losses. (Which, in the past, would make any Jayhawk fan drool.)
Here's to the Crimson and Blue!

Many publications are saying Kansas wasn't a fluke, Dunadan. It would be great for the big 12.

Kansas/South Florida, Kansas/Oklahoma, and Missouri/Kansas should all be interesting games.

However...

"Kansas was the National Champions last season..." ?

Anybody who butchers the English language so badly can’t possibly claim a football championship in an English speaking country.

Why, you could even be an imposter from some Podunk, backwater, foreign country…like Ohio.

It's hard for Gator fans/players to smell anything with cocaine up your noses. Time to bring in Crockett and Tubbs?

TAMPA, Fla. -- Police in Tampa say former Florida Gators football star John Reaves had cocaine on him when they arrested him for pointing a gun at two men during a dispute.

Tampa police reports say the 58-year-old Reaves was arrested Wednesday in connection with the gun episode four days earlier. A police report released Monday says a deputy who searched Reaves at the jail found a plastic bag in his pocket containing cocaine.

Reaves is charged with aggravated assault with a firearm, possession of cocaine and introducing contraband into a detention facility. He is free on a $9,000 bond.

Reaves' attorney, Nicholas Matassini, said his client plans to plead not guilty to all the charges. A message could not be left at Reaves' home because of a full voice mailbox

A first-round draft choice of the Philadelphia Eagles in 1972, Reaves started 15 games over 10 seasons with the Eagles, Cincinnati Bengals and Houston Oilers. He returned to play two games with Tampa Bay as a strike replacement in 1987.

He also worked as an assistant coach at the university of South Carolina.

Dominant SEC?
Here is a snippet from ESPN's 08' CFB Preview:

"Farewells: Poor grades and other off-the-field indiscretions prematurely ended the careers of several top players during the offseason. Among the players who departed their schools: LSU quarterback Ryan Perrilloux, Alabama linebacker Jimmy Johns, Penn State defensive tackle Chris Baker, Syracuse receiver Mike Williams, Virginia defensive end Jeffrey Fitzgerald, Virginia quarterback Jameel Sewell, Virginia Tech tailback Branden Ore and Mississippi State guard Mike Brown.

SEC wins with 3 out of 8!

"Offseason brawls: Off-the-field problems and arrests ruined offseasons at several schools, including Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia, Penn State, Virginia and West Virginia. Many coaches couldn't wait for preseason practices to begin."

SEC taking 3 out of 7 in the brawl category. Congrats!

I goggled Florida Gator Arrest
And here is the long rap sheet:

1. Selling Drugs - to Johnny Reaves?

2. The great Samdwich Assault Incident.

3. Gansta! Gansta!

4. Time to mix in some theft here.

5. This dude has a top ten list, lol!

"1. After Jarvis Puffy Moss jumped up (Ganja increased his vertical by 18″) and salvaged the crocs season against the Gamecocks by blocking a last second field goal attempt, it was revealed he to also failed a drug test during the summer as the clock ticked to zero. Guess what game he missed? The showdown between top ranked UF versus division 1AA Western Carolina.

2. Gator great, Marcus Medicinal Puff Thomas - a multiple drug test failure, pot and GHB. Gator fans tried to convince us all it was from the same test then the truth came out, near the end of the season with his dismissal from the team. Moss and Thomas were both drafted by the Broncos. WTF was Shanahan thinking?

3. Baby Momma Slappin Avery Atkins. The alleged victim, Benerah Sanford, told police: She and Atkins argued Saturday on a drive to Atkins grandmothers house. Atkins leaned over and punched her at least 13 times, and pushed her face against the cars window while he conversed with relatives. Every time Sanford tried to exit the car, Atkins either punched her or stepped on the gas. When the pair finally arrived at Atkins home, she ran off and called the police.
Earlier this month, Atkins was found in a car in Daytona Beach with weed, gun and digital scales. To top it off, it was not his car. He had enrolled in UF in January with plans to fight his way back to the cornerback slot.

4. Brandon James a football player and Brandon Powell who coincidently is the basketball player who sucker punched the Vandy student in the back of the head [link], were found together in Gainesville with. you guessed it: marijuana in the car during an undercover buy bust. One felony and one misdemeanor purchase of a controlled substance and possession of >20 grams of marijuana suspended indefinitely.

5. WR Riley Cooper smashed a windshield, welcome the perfect gater. And just who is Jasim Alidina? Adlina was the victim of Freshman Riley Coopers flailing haymaker through his car window. While Alidina survived the incident, remarkably unscathed, neither Cooper nor the car were as lucky. Cooper was taken to the Morton Plant Hospital.

6. Florida defensive back Dorian Munroe charged with felony for removal of parking boot and placing it in his trunk. This was later ironed out as expected as UF is thin at the corner. One felony theft of a police metal parking boot from his car

7. At Da Club, Ronnie The Rifleman Wilson slaps some guy, then spits on him, then ends it by shooting at him, luckily police actually stepped in one time before he killed that guy. two felonies and one misdemeanor gun in a parking lot near campus suspended indefinitely

8. LB Dusty Rhodes Doe, pummels some dude (ala Channing the Chainsaw Crowder) in a Alaucha County vs. Pasco County gang fight (Reds vs. Crips style). Punishment? No suspension from Meyer. Doe to face the (Jaws intro theme) Leadership Committee. one misdemeanor disorderly conduct for parking garage brawl

9. The 7-Man shower Self shooting gun incident, Gator players led by Dee Webb, Andre Bubba Caldwell and Reggie Lewis had a $60,000 SUV loaded with improperly registered AKs and other machine guns and they were all drunk while shooting at apartment windows for fun. Of course initially nobody took the blame and they all said they were in the shower (together) and that the gun must have shot itself Gators went with the deniable plausibility angle when Dee Webb shot off his arsenal saying he had already declared for the draft, so he was no longer a Gator.

T10. Dallas Bike Taker Baker, steals a bike, but when cops questioned him, Dallas said, heck man, I just thought the bike was abandoned. The sophomore was issued a sworn complaint from UPD as an officer stopped Baker near Ben Hill Griffin Stadium (which is a great place to take a deuce). Baker said he was late for an appointment and picked up an abandoned bicycle. Misdemeanor!!!

T10. Linebacker Taurean Charles. A UF student said Charles touched her against her will, the sworn complaint issued by the university police department said. Charles allegedly slammed her on the bed and onto a computer desk, picked her up over his head and threw her down on her roommates bed, according to the complaint. Charles was later dismissed from the Florida team."

6. Florida Gators football player Jamar Hornsby arrested on credit...
Florida safety Jamar Hornsby used a credit card belonging to the father of a deceased former UF student more than 70 times and charged more than $2,800 worth of merchandise throughout the state, according to ...

The stadiun has only been remodeled, several times.

"Seating capacity overall will rise to approximately 98,000 from the current 85,123.[21][22] Much of the lower deck will be ready for the 2007 season, while the upper deck is planned to be ready for 2008.[23] Official seating capacity for 2007 and 2008 have not yet been determined."

"The final planned phase of the stadium's expansion includes the construction of permanent seating and an upper deck in the south end zone, completely enclosing the playing field. The stadium capacity will reach 112,000 once the south end zone is fully enclosed.[25] This will make it the largest stadium (by capacity) in the United States."

I cannot believe Buddha has opened himself up like that…

…well, yes I can.

Nobody in the entire country has ever accused Ohio State fans of having any brains. That’s why their team has been a public relations nightmare for years. I remember when two players transferred to Ohio State because they couldn’t cut the academic requirements at Florida. Ohio State is famous for its thugs, its low academic standards, and its riots. I remember the stories from Florida fans who told me that Ohio State had the most classless fans they’ve ever encountered.

Ohio State player arrested after bar fight
The Cincinnati Enquirer • July 7, 2008

"COLUMBUS -- Eugene Clifford, a backup cornerback for Ohio State and former Cincinnati Colerain High School football standout, faces misdemeanor assault charges after allegedly punching two men.

According to police, Clifford hit two employees who were trying to break up a fight early Friday at a Corryville tavern.
This is not the first time Clifford, 20, has been in trouble with the law or his team.

While a senior at Colerain, Clifford was cited for marijuana possession in March 2007. He paid a $105 fine in that case, though the player's father, Eugene Clifford Jr., later denied the drugs belonged to his son.

In December 2007, Clifford, then in his first season with the Buckeyes, was suspended for an undisclosed violation of team rules. His suspension forced him to sit out of the national championship game against LSU.

Clifford is scheduled to be arraigned this morning."

WOW! Now you’ve got to love a site like this:

THE OHIO STATE SUCKS!
http://www.ohiostatesucks.org/

WHY THE OHIO STATE SUCKS

1. The pretentious use of "the" preceding "Ohio State."

2. Ohio State has a losing bowl record.

3. Reggie Germany somehow maintained his academic eligibility at Ohio State with a 0.0 GPA.

4. Placing stickers of pot plants on their helmets, in some scheme designed to reduce the importance of team achievements.

5. Woody Hayes is idolized by Buckeye fans, instead of shunned due to his violent nature which consists not only of hitting Clemson players, but assaults in other incidents.

6. Art Schlichter's career as a compulsive gamber and criminal began and was nurtured at Ohio State.

7. Sammy Maldonado was a fine student and citizen in high school, and then became a problem child and poor student at Ohio State. He resurrected his education, career and life, transferring to Maryland.

8. Maurice Clarett developed from a decent high school student and football player into a criminal at Ohio State.

9. Jim Tressel is responsible for the Maldonado and Clarett situations, as well as Marco Cooper, Troy Smith and other Buckeyes receiving payments, yet Buckeye fans continue to apologize and ignore this behavior, even pretending that he runs a clean program.

10. John Cooper is not reviled by Buckeye fans for his pathetic graduation rates, or any of the scummier elements of the Buckeye program, but for one thing: 2-10-1.

11. Ohio State has had four major infractions with the NCAA. And they're damn lucky they didn't have any with Clarett and other players receiving payments.

12. Ohio State continually changes their jerseys. You may have noticed that this website has the same colors as their jerseys: red and black. There is no gray on their jerseys. I guess they don't have a tradition worth upholding.

13. Ohio State's "greatest" tradition is the "Dotting of the I." Forgive me for not being impressed by the talent required for some tuba player to bow. This is particularly embarrassing, since the script Ohio was invented by the Michigan Marching Band in 1932.

14. This loser:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nwcc1uLzjiQ
(BWAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA)

15. Ohio State is named after a tree, the buckeye. Consider almost every other nickname - it is something to be feared, not something to be urinated on. Contrary to what some idiotic Buckeye fans will claim, the buckeye nut is not poisonous.

16. John Cooper's decision to run up the score on Penn State in 2000, which led to Adam Taliaferro becoming paralyzed. Had Cooper eschewed the meaningless score at the end of a 38-6 game, the Buckeyes would have certainly run the ball instead of pass with less than two minutes remaining. Rather than take a knee AFTER Taliaferro was paralyzed, Cooper decided to score a touchdown. In a shameful display lacking any perspective whatsoever, Cooper grinned when Ohio State scored. Buckeye fans applauded this decision for the most part.

17. In another classless display, Ohio State players ripped down the Michigan "Go Blue" banner before the Michigan / Ohio State game in 1973. Perhaps Ohio State can be proud in its role as the muse to thug programs like Miami stomping on opponents' logos at midfield.

18. Maurice Clarett is not hated for his wrongdoings at Ohio State, but for the fact that he exposed Ohio State as a dirty program.

19. Robert Reynolds, whose violent choking of Jim Sorgi was overlooked at Ohio State, has continued the Buckeye tradition of thuggery by getting domestic abuse charges.

20. Ohio State's stadium is named after the footwear of a horse. Since Ohio Stadium has the ends of the horseshoe pointing down, it has to be considered bad luck.

21. Not only are Ohio State's graduation rates poor, but the difference in graduation rates between black and white student athletes raises questions. The 4 class average graduation rates as of 1999-2000 for white football players was 71%, but a mere 30% for Ohio State's black football players. This is pathetic and shameful.

22. Ohio State claims its band is "The Best Damn Band in the Land." For some reaons, Buckeyes believe that repeating lies makes it true.

23. The Dead Schembechlers, an Ohio punk band that dresses up like the violent Woody Hayes, showed a lack of integrity by changing their name to the Bastard Sons of Woody. And before anyone says this was done to respect the passing of Schembechler, note that Woody Hayes is dead too.

24. Ohio State is overrated in pre-season polls, according to this.

25. Ohio State loves to claim many more national championships than they deserve:
a.) In 2002, Ohio State's claim to a national championship depends on a questionable interference penalty required to beat Miami,
b.) In 1968, Ohio State was not the only undefeated team. An undefeated Penn State, featuring Hall of Famers Franco Harris and Jack Ham, has as much a claim as Ohio State does.
c.) In 1961, Ohio State for some reason thinks their team with a tie is better than undefeated Alabama. Alabama was the AP's choice.
d.) In 1957, one-loss Ohio State for some reason thinks their team is better than undefeated Auburn, the AP's selection.
e.) In 1954, Ohio State was not the only undefeated team. UCLA was also undefeated, and is as deserving as Ohio State was.
f.) In 1944, Ohio State was undefeated, but so was Army. Army was loaded during WWII, and also won the AP poll. Army outscored their opponents 504-35, including beating 8-2 Notre Dame 59-0. Ohio State struggled to beat 8-2 Michigan 18-14.
g.) In 1942, one-loss Ohio State lost to Wisconsin, who also had one loss. Georgia was another one-loss team that has as legitimate a claim to the national championship as Ohio State does.
Ohio State repeating incessantly that they have 7 national championships does not make it true. Repeating a lie does not change it to truth.

JIM TRESSEL
Tressel has a quiet persona that is the opposite of Woody Hayes' belligerence. He has the ability to not choke away games, unlike John Cooper. He can beat Michigan. He wears a cute little sweatervest. He partakes in superficialities like arranging the team to sing Ohio State's alma mater after games, None of this matters one iota to whether Tressel runs a clean program or tolerates thugs on Ohio State. He does.

Thug U
According to a list compiled by The Associated Press, 20 Ohio State players were arrested or faced disciplinary action for rules violations between Tressel’s hiring in 2001 and 2005.

A number of the arrests were alcohol-related, but one player pleaded guilty to robbery, and another pleaded guilty to felony charges related to drug and gun possession. Two others were suspended after being charged with marijuana trafficking and passing fake in-house currency at a strip club.

Tressel may wear a sweatervest, but that doesn't mean he tolerates such thuggery. Quarterback Troy Smith, who this season brought Ohio State its seventh Heisman Trophy, was convicted of misdemeanor disorderly conduct after a 2003 fight in a campus parking lot, where, a woman reported, her jaw had been broken.

No Institutional Control at YSU or OSU
Early in 2005, an editorial in The Dayton Daily News said the booster incident, following other player misconduct, made Ohio State “look like a second-rate, generic state school, that has no reputation beyond sports and parties — and seeks none.”

Bill Livingston of The Cleveland Plain Dealer, one of Ohio’s most influential sports columnists, said of Tressel in an interview, “I’m a great admirer of him as a game-day coach, but the public image of the man doesn’t measure up in all aspects.”

The most notorious scandal of the Tressel era at Ohio State involved Clarett, the freshman star during the 2002 championship season whose career soon imploded. He was suspended in 2003 for N.C.A.A. rules violations, and would not play again, his early success corroded by questions of preferential treatment in the classroom; falsification of a police report involving stolen items from a car borrowed from a local auto dealer; and Clarett’s accusations that he was provided with cash and a no-show job.

Ohio State denied any wrongdoing and Clarett’s most explosive charges were never verified. Clarett is now in prison in Toledo, serving at least three and a half years on charges of aggravated robbery and carrying a concealed weapon.

The Clarett and Troy Smith episodes bore some resemblance to an incident that occurred during Tressel’s tenure as coach at Youngstown State. The university was cited by the N.C.A.A. for lack of institutional control after Ray Isaac, who quarterbacked the 1991 team to a Division I-AA championship, was later found to have accepted $10,000 and access to cars provided by the former chairman of Youngstown State’s board of trustees.

Tressel the Educator
While not as bad as John Cooper, Tressel's results as an educator remain embarrassing. Improvements in Ohio State's graduation rates are almost guaranteed, as Cooper left them no place to go but up. Among the 64 bowl teams, only Georgia (24 percent) had a lower graduation rate of black players than Ohio State (32 percent). The study also showed that Ohio State scored 925 — a minimal level of acceptance — on the so-called Academic Progress Rating, which tracks athletes’ advancement toward graduation and can result in a reduction of scholarships for noncompliance.

GOVERNOR DECLARES COLUMBUS DISASTER AREA

Columbus (OP) - Governor Strickland has declared Columbus to be a disaster area. He has also called in the national guard to maintain civil order. A 9PM curfew on couches will be enforced immediately. More on this story as events develop...

OHIO STATE: A DIRTY PROGRAM

Ohio State and the NCAA
Not only has Ohio State been guilty of NCAA violations multiple times, but their attitude towards the NCAA is one that a criminal would take with the police: they hide any and all evidence.

In the Clarett case, Clarett is criticized by Ohio State as a liar. If his testimony to the NCAA is a lie, then Ohio State is guilty as sin.

In the Schlichter case, Ohio State decided not to inform the NCAA, using the lame excuse that they didn't think it was worth reporting - despite the F.B.I.'s involvement.

Ohio State is a win at all costs school, and in the end, this means they lose no matter what. Integrity matters.

STUPID OHIO STATE TRADITIONS

1. The band wears berets when not marching on the field. This is French, and quite effeminite.

2. The team colors are the same colors of the Vichy French -red and black. This is French.

3. The band plays French tunes. Pregame, they play "Francais Nationale Defile March." During halftime, they play the 1812 Overture simply so they could play the French national anthem.

4. Their mascot is a bearded mime. This is French.

5. The mime is known by the of Brutus. Aptly named, Brutus derives from the Latin brutus, meaning "heavy, dull and stupid."

6. After a rare TD, the Ohio State Band celebrates in the gayest way possible. They give each other piggyback rides, band members celebrates by swinging a stuffed banana around and around.

7. Sweatervests are very big among French men. This is French.

8. Carmen Ohio has Ohio State fans mimicking the hand motions for Y-M-C-A.

9. Ohio State thought so little of their Buckeye Grove tradition (where a Buckeye tree is planted for each Buckeye to win 1st team All-American honors) that they destroyed the grove and replanted the trees in 2001.

10. Ohio State copied the "Tunnel of Pride" idea from Michigan, as it looks very similar to Michigan players touching the Go Blue banner. Oh, and this so-called tradition is 12 years old.

11. The idiotic practice of putting stickers on a helmet.

12. The most recognizable song the Ohio State band plays is "Hang On Sloopy," a mediocre pop song.

13. The Buckeye jerseys are ... wait a second, there is NO tradition there, because they change their jerseys so often - two changes in the last two years.

14. The Ohio State band's uniforms are copied from the Salvation Army

Buddha's outspoken hatred of the French is merely a coverup....lmao

they cut down the buckeye trees, that's classic, kinda like if Auburn would put up a 7-11 on Toomers Corner, or if Alabama would pave the Quad (oh crap, i hope they didn't hear that, they are so parking lot crazy they might do it)

OSU fans truly are the most classless bunch of knuckle draggers I've ever encountered. The last time my wife and I attended a game at the Whore Shoe was horrible. We had beer cans thrown at us, flipped off, told to go the fukc back to Michigan...and lets face it, Columbus just sucks. It's dirty, drabby and runthefukcdown.

The best fans I ever had the pleasure of meeting were the Penn State fans.

Geezus! I couldn't make it through half of that. That was painful. Ghetto fabulous seems to be the black here in Ohio. Even all the white trash are switchin' over to da new flayva.

Well, it appears arclite summed it up well and there isn't much more I can add.

Essentially, you have SEC teams, and then the rest of the country.

Nice post. It appears to explain it for me!
When you're the best and outstanding, you always have to be defensive and stand firm and proud against some of the outstanding idiots of the world.

"No results found for effeminite. Did you mean effeminate (in dictionary) or Effeminite (in encyclopedia)?"

It appears to just be a simple, typing error or, perhaps a spelling error by a highly-educated, SEC graduate and failure to use a good, spelling-checker program. Quite stupid, no?

My daughter just started as a freshman at Penn State and made it into the blue band, which is the Penn State marching band. I’m looking forward to going to a couple of games and seeing their field show.

Michigan State University still has the trophy for best mascot... :-)

Go Green! Go White!

The following is from: http://www.ibzp.net/files/012207-links-sparty-best-mascot-in-the-nation.html

"Sparty is nations top mascot

Sparty, MSUs beloved mascot, earned the title of the nations top collegiate mascot last weekend in Orlando, Fla. He won the honor at the Universal Cheer Associations national competition at Walt Disney World.

MSU also was represented at the event by the MSU cheerleading and dance teams, along with other fans that came along for the fun. The competition was held at Disneys MGM studios, where there was a sea of colors representing many universities.

Sparty is the only Big Ten mascot to claim the title. He won back-to-back national championships in 2004 and 2005. He placed third last year. He was in second place after judges reviewed videos that each mascot submitted.

Hey, the football team might suck, but our mascot is a badass."
