For Pete's sake - leaving the wives at home is yet another brilliant reason to hold a Cleveland Bowl.

Good Reasons to have Cleveland Bowl:

1. Beer stays colder longer (wounded knee)
2. The wives stay at home so you can enjoy more of those cold beers (hyway/BB)
3. Bowl games in the snow, where obnoxoius SEC fans can show how good thier arms are by pelting Big Ten fans with snowballs. (nowslimmer)
4. Mix up your drug use, instead of the crank infested south, come to the crack infested north!(chili)
5. AFter 5 years, BB, dayhiker and Chili could close down a few bars once more.
6. Great Lakes Brewery
7. Christie's

At the time of it's demise, the Astrodome was the worlds smallest domed stadium. So much for the "everything's bigger in Texas" crap

I think that it would be WONDERFUL if there was a bowl game at Lambeau Field in Green Bay.

But I'd doubt seriously that the Packers would ever risk their field with the possibility of a Packers' playoff game close by.

BTW, the Motor City Bowl seems to be doing okay. Ford Field seemed to be about 90% full for a game between two teams without a real local tie. CMU is about 2.5 hours away.

Sure you can. I fly to Appleton and Green Bay from Detroit all the time. It's about a 45 minute flight.

Someone should figure out how to put a temporary field turf surface on top of the frozen tundra.

But all of us northerners are too busy putting up temporary hockey rinks on football fields and growing grass inside domes.

BTW, I think that they should play an NHL game on an actual frozen lake. Find one in Northern Minnesota or Canada that freezes dependably and has steep hills on each side for the fans. Wouldn't that be great?

I don't know about you guys, but I can't stand domes. Games (baseball/football) are designed to be played OUTSIDE. I once caught a game at the Metrodome, and they vacumed the infield during the 7th inning - come on!

Bowl game in Lambeau would be awsome! I'd love to see one at Mile High, in Buffalo too for that matter.

I have to say that the BEST moment of the NFL season this year was during the game between Cleveland and Buffalo when they couldn't find the 50 yard line.

The refs were trying to place the ball on the 50 after a penalty and they kept kicking their boots in the snow as each team tried to push them a few yards in each direction.

Finally, the refs just shrugged their shoulders and placed the ball on the snow.

It was beautiful!

Kentucky v. Florida State - even match-up when FSU isn't without 1/3 of its team - Another home-like game in Nashville

Most of those were scrubs. I think FSU only lost four starters to the suspension.

And Kentucky isn't an obnoxious SEC school, so you can add them to the list with Alabama. You would think Kentucky being the all-time greatest basketball program in the NCAA would lead to obnoxious fan behavior, but it doesn't. Football--what have we got to be rude about?

LSU fans are indeed obnoxious. I've only had to throw two people out of a football game, both at a home game against LSU. One was a drunk that took a swing at me, the other was an LSU fan (college age) who was fighting with a 70-something year old man.

And here's a little something from a blog I read:
OK, now Big Ten fans, I know there are a lot of you out there. Many of you have submitted thoughtful comments below. And, I think most of you are great.

But, brace yourself. This next comment will likely irritate you quite a bit.

I know that Big Ten fans are justifiably proud to have gone 2-1 vs the SEC in bowl games last year and to be 1-1 vs the SEC so far this year, with a chance to go 2-1 again and be National Champs if OSU can beat LSU on Monday.

OK, all of that is great for Big Ten fans.

But, to be fair, you should take a step back and look at the bigger picture. Right now the SEC leads all conferences in bowl wins again (last year the SEC went 6-3; Big Ten 2-5). Right now, the SEC is 6-2 in the 2007-2008 bowl season. If LSU wins the NC, the SEC will break its own record with 7 bowl victories in one season.

How's the Big Ten doing? 3-4; 4th among the major college football conferences right now. You can see the complete list at Top College Football Bowl Conference.

...I don't think you can blame it on the weather.

Ahhh… the Ohio State p-wussy is mouthing off again. How predictable

Before the Game- big blustery p-wussy talk.

After a win- big blustery p-wussy talk.

After a loss- scream, run, and hide like a scared little girl.

Buddha, you're a p-wussy. A poor-sport, mush-mouth p-wussy.

One of the great things about being at the game with Michigan fans is that we were both talking about how good it is to beat those wanna-be thug, trailer-trash transvestites from Ohio State.

Nigal, I like ya but I ain’t nobody’s beyotch.

I predict that Rodriguez will change the big-ten like Spurrier changed the SEC.

How’bout them Dawgs!

Thanks, slim. Since you’re paying such close attention, what’s the bowl record of the conferences?

How much you want to bet on the LSU game, dayhiker?

Anyone can play one good game.

This is the only real question for me (and the BIG difference between playing a full season in the SEC and a full season in the big-ten)-

LSU injuries:
- Linebacker Darry Beckwith (12/3, right ankle) is probable for the BCS National Championship on 1/7 against Ohio State. Running back Trindon Holliday (12/3, ankle) is probable for the BCS National Championship on 1/7 against Ohio State. Wide receiver Early Doucet (12/3, shoulder) is probable for the BCS National Championship on 1/7 against Ohio State. Quarterback Ryan Perrilloux (12/3, finger) is probable for the BCS National Championship on 1/7 against Ohio State. Quarterback Matt Flynn (12/3, shoulder) is probable for the BCS National Championship on 1/7 against Ohio State. Defensive tackle Charles Alexander (12/3, knee) will miss the BCS National Championship on 1/7 against Ohio State. Guard Will Arnold (12/3, viral infection) is questionable for the BCS National Championship on 1/7 against Ohio State. Left tackle Mark Snyder (12/3, knee) will miss the BCS National Championship on 1/7 against Ohio State.

OSU injuries:
- Cornerback Eugene Clifford (12/19, disciplinary) will miss the BCS National Championship on 1/7 against LSU. Cornerback Donald Washington (12/29, disciplinary) is probable for the BCS National Championship on 1/7 against LSU. Linebacker Ross Homan (12/3, toe) is doubtful for the BCS National Championship on 1/7 against LSU. Defensive end Lawrence Wilson (12/3, broken right leg) is questionable for the BCS National Championship on 1/7 against LSU.

Even with half their team out, I still like LSU.

What was the deal with that game last night? Last time I saw OU they were crushing Mizzou, and last time I saw WV they couldn't keep Pitt out of the end zone. Although I have no evidence to prove it, I think Mizzou is better than Pitt.

Props to WV for finding a defense. Too much time passes between the end of the college season and the bowl games.

Last nights game and the Michigan game is great evidence of why we should have a playoff.

When a team gets really up for a game and plays with complete enthusiasm and passion they can do remarkable things.

Big Blue was completely up to send Carr out on a high note and they had something to prove after hearing how #&%!$ty they were for several weeks. FL was a bit cocky i think and got humbled by a team that I still think they were better than.

USC proved they really are a good team, but they had IL outclassed from the warmups.

WV played with passion and enthusisasm and got a good jump on the Sooners who never seemed to really recover. 0-4 in BCS games, Stoops seems to have a major nemesis, i wish i could think of a way to spell "Fiesta" with OU, but it just ain't there.

Mizzou, WV, USC, GA, LSU, OSU .... who knows who's the best team - any of them have an argument.

I disagree with you on the USC game Roam. Illinois was ready to score at one point which would have made the score 21 to 17. A USC defender knocked the football out of the Illini receiver's hands and the ball was recovered by USC. That was a major turning point. If Illinois scores, I think they have a chance.

USC is a good team though, no question.

On a side note, I really wish the USC receiver that did the sumersault would have fallen on his neck. This #&%!$ needs to stop. He should have been yanked from the game

concur - that was uncalled for. I was suprised though, I expected IL to be better prepared than they appeared to be.

A Illinois player did something simular at the end of the game. You could not really see it but I believe the USC band was trashing talking as he scored, so he threw the ball in their general direction.

I hate the how some of these teams think their #&%!$ don't stink. USC is one of these teams and I feel they got lucky. If Illinois would have learned a bit earlier from their mistakes and wouldn't have turned the ball over so much, they could have won this game.

When the band starts taunting, throw the ball ad hard as you can and clock the douche in the face.

Well I'm a die-hard SEC defender Nigal, and I'd like to see LSU win, but I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss Ohio State. Not because they are the best team in the country (I'm not saying they are or aren't), but because LSU showed they can be beat in their two losses to good, but not great teams in Kentucky and Arkansas.
