Is this the example the SEC should follow in handling thugs?

Trojans Put Reputation on Line With Maualuga

"According to witnesses, in the early morning hours of a Halloween party, with no apparent motivation, Maualuga walked up and punched his alleged victim twice, knocking him down.

When the victim's companion threatened to call police, Maualuga allegedly shouted, 'I own the police' before running away.
"

"By not suspending Maualuga for even one full game, Carroll is sending the message that his players are invincible not only on the field, but everywhere."

Ewker, now son, you'll need to use more than your fingers and toes to count South Carolina's poll ranking. Try making marks with your crayons in a blank margin in one of your picture books. If you wrack your brain, you'll get there eventually.

Thanks for the info, longlost. Those thugs in the PAC 10 need to be exposed, especially those at OJ’s alma mater, USC. It appears as if the PAC 10 is full of miscreants like that player in Oregon who defiled the homosexual sheep.

The USC players seem to have too much time on their hands considering they don’t have to practice much to beat the teams on their schedule.

This Saturday will be my 27th consecutive "Big Game" (Stanford/Cal). For most of the rivalry's history, the teams haven't been all that good, but we've had some pretty exciting finishes and some big upsets. Cal has won the last 3, which followed 7 straight wins by Stanford. This year will be the first of the past 4 that Stanford has a reasonable chance to win. Actually, it's a little weird - Stanford is a game ahead of Cal in the conference standings, playing at home, but is a 4-point underdog.

In the past, my seats have been in the first section that gets given to the Cal folks - those of us sitting there would be moved over to the other side of the stadium (Cal does a similar thing when Stanford plays over there). But this year they moved my seats one section over (I think I'm on about the 40 yard line), so I get my actual seats for this game, which will be great!

If our ragged O-line can keep our QB from getting killed, we should win and lock up a bowl berth. If not, well, it's another year without The Axe....

Good weather is on tap - probably in the high 60's or low 70's at kickoff....

HOO CARES
My little Hokie daughter sent this to me.

HOO CARES

This past week, Va. Tech haters poured out of closets, manhole covers, and even caves. To them, we send this message: if you think this is the end for Va. Tech football, think again. We aren’t going anywhere. Sure, we lost to Miami. Big deal. They are a hell of a football team. Sometimes they beat us sometimes we beat them, but they would beat you by nine touchdowns.

You want us to pack up and lose three more games, but this isn't 2003. We had leadership problems and locker room problems and our coaches were drunk (it's the only rational explanation for the ridiculous quarterback platooning). That team died a long time ago. This season is too much fun to quit now. We are going to beat Virginia. We are going to beat North Carolina. Then, in an ironic twist of fate, after losing to us Virginia will beat Miami sending the Cav’s arch rival to the ACC Championship game where we will beat the crap out of Florida State finally avenging the Sugar Bowl. This is Va. Tech. We believe.

And if we don't get the help we need from Ga. Tech or Virginia, we will go to the Fiesta Bowl as an at-large and beat the crap out of Notre Dame. And even if none of this happens, we will still go to games and bowls, we will still cheer for our team, we will still travel, and we will still aggravate the crap out of WVU Hillbillies. It’s one of our Top Ten Reasons for Getting Up in the Morning.

Speaking of WVU, it's one thing for the Miami fans to crash us. We deserve it. We got a little cocky with respect to the Canes. Miami, we never lost respect for you. You are our favorite team on the schedule. We love that sometimes you beat us; it makes this all so much more fun.

It's the damn media's fault. We never should have listened to them.

Virginia Tech fans would generally admit to its share of hillbillies. I even know a few and they are good people. But VT hillbillies don’t set their couches on fire out in the middle of the street after a football game. At the last game, there was a report that a Mouseketeer…er, I mean Mountaineer fan actually ate a Hokie. Now that’s a bit much, wouldn’t you say?

Yeah, I know. Our pride got in the way in the game against Miami and we lost. We admit that. Miami is a great team. The game against UVA is all about pride. There is a hugh rivalry around here between the schools. The good thing is that the students of the losing team will have a week of Thanksgiving vacation to lick their wounds.

Senior Day UNM vs AF
And a good one to boot. Green chili burritos and coffee in the 50F sunshine and some awesome seniors who should put on a show against AF and go high in the NFL draft.

Dontrell Moore One Of Ten Semifinalists For Doak Walker Award.

UNM and MWC career rushing leader with 4,830 yards, which ranks No. 2 among active NCAA rushers and 18th all-time......50 rushing TDs and 58 total TDs are the most in school and conference history...rushing scores are the most in the nation by an active player...surpassed 1,000 yards rushing in the 9th week of the season to become just the sixth player in the history of NCAA Div. I-A football to reach the 1,000-yard mark four times in a career. Only 11 ball-carriers have reached 5,000 yards. Moore is 170 yards from that milestone with one regular-season game, and, possibly, a bowl game remaining. He currently leads the MWC, averaging 115.5 yards a game in 2005.

Hank Baskett
A Semifinalist For the Biletnikoff Award. He ranks in the top-five all-time at UNM in yards, catches and TDs.
Baskett leads the Mountain West Conference and is ranked fifth in the country with an average of 106.3 receiving yards per game.

Ryan Cook... Kiper Jr. ranks him as the country's No. 1 senior center...invitation to play in the Senior Bowl, ....watch list selection for the Lombardi Award.

Congrats Buddha - you get to share the Big Ten championship. It's worth sharing if you guys beat Michisgone.

Which means that Joe-Pa gets to share it as well, because State Penn beat the Sputters.

So I'm 2-1 on the day with the Flutters and Waddles just getting under way.

Congrats also to Creek Dancer. Hmmph!

Well, we pretty much sucked. Four in a row now. Not quite the pain that "they" had to endure when we won 7 straight, but definitely not fun. Also, the #&%!$ coach of Cal had to go and add insult to injury trying to run it up with a few minutes to go. Typical classless move.....
