RE: hot or cold?
Last time I was there at Havasu (probably 15 years ago) there was a rope attached to a big tree near the campground. We swung way out on it and dropped into the water. Is it still there?

The only thing I have against winter camping is that the nights are so long--I don't like to be cooped up in a tent that long.

I like it best when it is in the 50s or 60s (F), but I prefer cold weather to hot weather.

Mary, the only rope swing we saw down at Havasu was at Mooney Falls below Havasu Falls. Quite a line-up for the rope. It was like Grand Central Station there! (hint - get up early and you'll have the falls to yourself before the crowds show up around 10am). Still, the falls were beautiful and the water the prettiest blue/green. Was a great trip!

Anything except stinking hot. Hot is for paddling trips.
