It's growing on me..all the kids thinks she's named after sunglasses tho.

Hey Strat, its my legs that are "abnormally" hairy, but if you are going to make fun of me, why not the pinstripped shorts? Lol.

That's a good looking dog, looks like its starting to heat up wherever you are..
That's the great thing about hiking with dogs, they never complain and always seem enthusiastic about covering more ground. You never have to wait on them and they don't mind waiting up for you. Not the case with many hiking partners you might run across.

Where I go my dog goes,if my dog is not welcome
then I don't go there. On the trail if I meet people I put her leash on,however most of the places I go,I never meet anyone so Alleydog runs loose. She is a 20 lb. Eskimo so she does not take up too much room in the tent. And I know someone is coming long before they come in view.I am a retired trucker and my other Eskimo(Rosie)rode with me coast to coast for 14 years

I'm having a huge problem with ticks this year, the drops I usually use on Jack don't seem to be working. Is there something else that can help with the tick situation?

We use Frontline and a flea/tick collar. It's been working pretty well so far

The need to complicate your life with a dog is one of the many parts of human nature I'll never understand. That part is just funny. The part about not leashing them and inflicting them on everything and everybody else is just rude.

Jack doesn't compicate my life. He makes it better and i don't inflict him on others unless others inflict themselves on me. :)

Dogs are one of the few if not the only creatures on Earth that will LOVE you more than they LOVE themselves.

I thought I lost this beauty last weekend. She came down with some terrible attacks of spinal pain. It was awful. She saw five different doctors and spent five days in the hospital, had a transfusion, is still on lots of meds..
She got some kind of infection in the jacket around her spine. She complicated my life, but that's ok, she's better now.
Notice the staples in her right paw, they also shaved lots of fur, she doesn't like that.

She amazed the doctors with her tricks. She's so smart. This mean ole world snatches the best and brightest all too often and it almost got her. Thanks free24, I just want a dog like yours.

I've noticed something this last weekend hiking with jack, he knows my pack, he knows to stay next to it even if I am out swimming and he doesn't want to. I goes back to where my backpack is and sits there. He's sooooo smart. He doesn't let anyone near the bag though lol perfect guard dog hahaha

Took Oakley out for her first camping trip yesterday and today. She and my son are alseep in his hammock here at Loft moutain campground. We hiked down to Big run portal today, man it's dry! We found enough water to swim in tho and she had a blast. It was tough getting them back up that hill.

So I'm sitting here at my fire, its spitting rain and blowing steady from the west. Got a nice tree blocking most of the rain and the smoke going the right.way. Life is good. I hope the rain holds off tho my tarp is a little smallish..

Here ya go:

The dog is incredible. I've never seen an animal anticipate what you want so well, and she's only 4 mos. old. They were both real tired. I didn't bring any bottom insulation (lows were 67*) but we were cold! Felt kinda good being cold actually.

You know, I've never cared that much about that.. also, we were staying at a campground, lots of noise worth tuning out. He went to sleep with the dog kinda early, I walked over to the bathroom. About 40 yards away I hear this woman, well, doing the orgasm scene from "when Harry met Sally" except it went on and on, and very loud! So totally creepy. It was 9pm, kids walking around everywhere! Thank God for headphones! Then later, like 12:30 am or so, the morons next to me started chopping wood. It was raining and I'm sleeping like 30 ft. away... This is why I never stay in campgrounds.
