Another thing, I rarely go to a concert if I have to sit down... I can't stand sitting. I HAVE to be out in the pit to get the full enjoyment of the concert.

Best concert you have ever been too?

Mine was Harry Connick Jr. It was after he released his 2 funk albumn, Star Turtle. We got lucky with row 3 center seats. Little did we know, but we would come out into the audience and sit right next to us (right next to the wife) while he was singing one of his songs. I shook his hand before he returned back to the stage.

To this day, I still have not washed my hand!

Probably Music as a Weapon II, I went because I liked Disturbed, I left Loving Disturbed - Continues to be my favorite band. They put on a good show, I totally agree with their whole take on religion and "music as a weapon" theory.

As far as concerts go though, slipknot comes in at a close second, they put on an awesome show.

In general though, I prefer a much smaller scale concert, just a small club setting with a couple hundred people - just enough to mosh. Some of the best small club shows I've seen were Soil... Drowning Pool... and Lostprophets.

I guess that was kind of an extended answer to the best "concert" - short answer: MAAWII

Well to each his own, I'd rather spend $40 on a good ballgame than SOAD, actually its worse than that you'd have to pay me to go. But at my age I'm out of touch with the genre so who cares.

The last ballgame I went to, Twins against somebody... you can see how much attention I pay to the game, I got in for free, into the Cub foods Football press box. I mostly concentrated on eating all of the free food and drinking all of the free pop, while chatting with cub foods exec's, occasionally glancing down at the field to watch the dudes chase after the little ball.

"occasionally glancing down at the field to watch the dudes chase after the little ball.”

Now thats funny! Frankly though I think you are right, the grub is often more entertaining than the game. Having thought about I would rather have Van Halen tix than pretty much any game tix.

Now Van Halen, last time they were in town tickets were $80, no way I would ever pay that much for them.

So, ozzfest was scheduled for this Sunday and I was not going to be able to attend. But apparently Ozzy is having some trouble with his voice, and the show is postponed until Sept. 10, which I will be able to attend and I just purchased my ticket! Now I'm psyched.

I've always wanted to see Black Label Society but the only time they tour in the summer is with the Ozzfest and they never come closer than 3 hours in the winter. I just can't see sitting out in the sun all day to see BLS play for 20 minutes.

Going to see Velvet Revolver and Chevell tonight. Not really looking forward to it but I know it's one of those concerts that will be better than I think it will. I've had to sit through Chevell before and they suck ass.

James Taylor is in concert on the other end of the state tonight too. THAT'S where I want to be.

Well, the Velvet Revolver concert turned out to be everything I was hoping it wouldn’t be. They sucked bad. The guy at the sound board should have been strung up by his balls. It was like a big muddy wall of sound and the only thing you could distinguish was the drums. Couldn’t hear Slash’s playing at all. It was that kind of messy sound where they start a song and you can’t even tell what song it is. Combine this with the drunk guy two rows behind us that was screaming “ROCK AND PHUCKIN’ ROLL!!!”, every two minutes the whole time and I was glad when the wife wanted to leave before the encore.

I pulled off my night off last night and ended up at the Seether, Crossfade and Dark New Day concert and I'm glad I made it - the show was awesome, even Crossfade rocked more than I expected. Seether played a lot of well known songs, the show closed with a combination of all the bands' members playing a few cover songs including Deftones and Alice in Chains. Hell yeah, what a night.

I do recall seeing the drummer toss his sticks quite a bit, usually he caught them - though he had to adjust or turn the stick around before he could continue playing.

I caught the Kings of Leon Saturday night with KabinKamper. It was the fastest pace I've ever seen on stage. They prolly played 20-25 songs in an hour and a half.

My son saw the Boston Tori Amos concerty last night. They had a contest for six audience members to sing a Tori song - and whoever got the best response from the audience would get moved up to excellent seats. He won! His first performance for a large audience is a success.
