Hey, Mel, he might not be the brightest person, and he might not be able to form coherent sentences, and he might have permanent brain damage from over-consumption of drugs and alcohol, but at least......dang!, now I forgot the point I was going to make...

RE: Our new President!
Oh to be President. Everyone will point out any and all faults. Get all the blame and none of the credit. Let's not forget, that while he is a powerful person, there are some SIX HUNDRED other people making the laws and policy. He can only exert his considerable influence. He is often like the quarteback of the football team. He will get an inordinate amount of resposibility and blame and credit; but it takes all of them.

Still, it is fun to poke fun at the president, ain't it.

See?
I try to stay away from threads that are OBVIOUSLY political.
They are generally boring and always combative.

What I would like to see is if anyone here able to put together a well thought out post with perfect grammar could actually get up in front of thousands of people day after day and not make a few mistakes in a speech. I know I couldn't.

RE: Our new President!
I agree Larock, that doesn't stop the mistatements from being funny tho'.

Some Bulgarian friends years ago quoted their dictor (Todor Jivkoff - I'm sure I spelled it wrong) as saying during the Communist Party's 5 year plan meeting: "5 years ago our nation stood at the edge of an abyss, but with the party's leadership we have taken a bold step forward."

RE: Our new President!
Our frank and open
deep conversations
they get me nowhere
they bring me down, so
give it a rest, won't you?
give me a cigarette
God give me patience
just no more conversation

Give us a drink
and make it quick
or else I'm gonna be sick
sick all over
your frankly vulgar
red pullover
now see how the colours blend

Our frank and open
deep conversations
they get me nowhere
they bring me down, so
give it a rest, won't you?
now will you just give over
the world may be ending
but look, I'm only human

Give us a drink
and make it quick
or else I'm gonna be sick
all over
your frankly vulgar
red pullover
now see how the two colours blend

Won't somebody stop me
from thinking all the time
about everything
so deeply
so bleakly

Mel,
I'm not sure what web site you got those quotes from, but a least half of them are Gore-isms and Quayle-isms.

Those Democraps are now even tieing Gore-isms to Bush. What's next? Bush claiming to have created the internet?

RE: Our new President!
Mel, that bastard sure as hell isn't my president--and never will be. If he 'wins', it'll be thanks to his crony in the SOS office; his legal attempts to disenfranchise voters; his dishonest spin campaign; and, most of all, massive election fraud in Duval, Seminole, Miami-Dade, and probably several other counties.

Zen_hiker was right.

Where is the evidence of massive vote fraud Tehipite? Enquiring minds ant to know.

Personally, I have yet to be impressed by evidence of fraud by either side.. but I'm open to seeing some evidence.

"If he 'wins', it'll be thanks to his crony in the SOS office"

Imagine that, an elected official following the law.

"his legal attempts to disenfranchise voters"

Tell that to the U.S. Service Personnel whose votes were tossed out.

"massive election fraud in Duval, Seminole, Miami-Dade, and probably several other counties."

Sure, like the Democrat Legislater caught with the vota-matic in his car.

"Zen_hiker was right"

He sure is a lefty now.

RE: Our new President!
Gore reminds me of the people in school, who when hearing they got the second highest grade on the exam, would meet with the teacher and petition for a higher grade. I always detested those weasels.
BTW, I'm not much fonder of Bush!!!

Better minds at work, the talk is very deep
I wish they`d frog it all and take a leap
There`s nothing left of this, I want to keep
Funny, they teach the wolves to dress up and act like sheep
It`s hard to tell the good guys, when they dress `em so much alike
I hope there`s an end to it soon and we can all go, take a hike

RE: Our new President!
OK, I?m going to make ya all sick now. Rather than saying something negative about the guy I DIDN?T vote for can I say something positive about the guy I DID vote for? It?s going to sound so whacked out and sheepish that I will take flack for it but just as Zen Hiker has said, ?I?m immune to it by now.?

Let me start by saying that I take nothing for granted when it comes to our leaders. There are no perfect leaders or people. I try and take things on their individual merits and I blindly follow no one??cept dat Jesus guy. Anyhow, last week when Gore made his offer to Bush for a statewide recount and a meeting and then Bush made a speech replying to him; frankly I was blown away. When Dubya came out and stood in front of that podium to speak to his fellow Americans, he was a different man than before. He carried himself as a leader should. He wasn?t speaking as a candidate. He was speaking as President Bush. He spoke so well and so confidently. As others have said before he isn?t a rocket scientist and he doesn?t always speak as eloquently as others do and this is one of the things that struck me so profoundly. He was not coming across merely by charisma but by an air of leadership. To be charismatic is easy, to lead is hard work.

I have learned a few things this past month. First politics is all relative. Are the left wrong? Who knows. Are the right wrong? Who knows. What I do know is that I have accepted that I am a conservative of the far right (big surprise?). I have always avoided it but I accept it now and am proud of it. It?s just who I am.

?So why is Nigal having diarrhea of the moth about here??, you may ask. We get so caught up before the election trying to prove our side?s point that even after the voting is done we still carry on as if we are trying to swing votes. The time for that is done. I just thought things being so political lately I?d try and say something positive instead of negative. Just keep in mind that my opinions are like politics?all relavent to the individual.
