LANSING -- A detective from the Michigan State Police was still investigating possible election fraud in connection with the recruitment of a fake candidate for a Grand Rapids legislative seat when the probe was shut down by the Kent County prosecutor, records released Tuesday under Michigan's Freedom of Information Act show.

Kent County Prosecutor William Forsyth said Tuesday that the investigation was closed as "a mutual decision" between him and the State Police because it became clear no criminal laws had been broken.

Detective Sgt. Robert Davis had obtained search warrants for House Speaker Jase Bolger's cell phone records and state Rep. Roy Schmidt's e-mail and cell phone records when he was told by Forsyth on July 16 "that no charges would be authorized as no clear criminal statute had been violated," according to the State Police records obtained by the Free Press.

Davis then canceled the three search warrants, stored some pieces of evidence and destroyed others, officially closing the case July 18."

Lansing — An initiative by Secretary of State Ruth Johnson's office seeking to affirm voters' U.S. citizenship led to confusion at the polls Tuesday and claims some registered voters were denied ballots.

The question — "Are you a United States citizen?" — reportedly set off confusion among poll workers and voters, some of whom disputed the inquiry knowing Gov. Rick Snyder nixed the citizenship requirement last month in a vetoed bill. If voters were turned away, a national voting law expert said, Michigan may have violated federal election law."

By putting this question on the ballot before the ruling, TBer Ruth Johnson wasted 10 millions dollars of taxpayer money; let alone all of the voter disenfranchisement.

Lansing — The Michigan Court of Appeals has ruled a 3 percent reduction in public school employee paychecks "violates multiple constitutional rights," upholding a lower court's ruling in a legal victory for teacher unions.

The lawsuit, brought by the American Federation of Teachers Michigan and affiliated local unions, challenges a 2010 law that captured 3 percent of school employee wages to pay for retiree health care — without guarantee that workers will enjoy the same benefits in retirement.

Clearly I present an opinion based solely on my interactions with people, and not as fact regarding TBer worldview. I'm sure there are more than a few folks who don't like Obama for various other reasons. It's not a convenient excuse; I have been around a large amount of folks who do feel that way. Not saying anything other than that.

It's just like the folks who didn't like Bush because of (insert multiple reasons why here). I'm sure there were folks who didn't like Bush because he was white, and other reasons. Are those convenient excuses as well?

Why is it; with this President, that there is so much more suspicion about where he came from and who he is? And why is it now considered patriotic to want to remove the President of the United States, when these same bassturds were calling for the heads of every socialist commie fascist traitor when people were disagreeing with Bush II and people.

If "we" are looking for things to be hypocritical, we don't need to go very far.
