There are 8 bars and a brewery within a mile of my apartment. Does anyone else have this problem? I don't know what to do.

Make your own beer, then you just stay at home.

We Canucks know nothing about beer, eh?

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Bit, but then wouldn't it take about a month to get beer?

Gremlin, I agree, Canadian beer sucks. ;-)

The little town I went to HS in Nevada, population 400-500 had five gas stations and six bars, maybe three bars stayed open year round, the others opened for New Year's and part of the summer.

Indded! It seems like the beer lists get longer and longer all the time, though many seem tame and domesticated and definitely don't bite.

It's been a long time since I've had any dangerous encounters with beers, though I had some scary experiences back in the day.

Gem, is it like coconut flavored beer from HI? My friend came out so we could work on a bp stove he had not used for a few years. It was ok, not something I would seek out.

Duane, na...not sure if I would like coconut beer. This one is chocolate stout. It's really good, and defiantly still tastes like real beer :)

Yah, but then you have about six weeks of beer, so if you stay on top of it, you're never without beer.

I like the chocolate stout. My problem is the damn Flying Saucer. They have about 250 or more different beers and I am on a quest to try them all.

Maybe a growler of Hefeweizen should be in order for tonight.

That is, indeed, a very terrible predicament, Zac, and one which I, too, share in the pain.

Picked up another case of Victory Storm King Stout while in PA last weekend... Had my hands on a case of Dogfish Head World Wide Stout, but at $150 bucks a case I decided a new two man tent would be a better option...

It hurts to admit it, but you Americans are making some pretty good beer nowadays, eh? Cheese too.

Lol Grems...I used to not drink beer. To me, American beer tasted like badly flavored water. Still not an avid beer drinker, but I do appreciate a good beer now and then. Curious how much the German beer changed...never really drank that either.

It's just about time to hop over to my local and have a Kilkenny. If you're a FB friend, you can see the photos.

odd - from their website it indicates that Breakfast Stout is only available from September to mid January - seems like the wrong time of the year for it unless its rather old leftovers from last year

Don't worry too much about good beer going bad. I've got bottles of mead in my fridge right now that a buddy of mine and I made in 1988.

When did they start selling beer in PA grocery stores?...

I get done hiking on Sunday and we decide to grill... walk into the Local Wegmans only to be confronted by the room of beer....

Founders, Southern Tier, Chimay, Left Hand, Victory, etc etc etc .... PA is starting to look better and better alll of the time!!!

DOHT!

I got to hit a couple of local micro-breweries this weekend. Took my son to a place down the road Saturday to get primed for his birthday celebration. He tasted all their wares and left with a growler while a local told us about transvestites in New Orleans.

Yesterday we walked down the beach from the cousin's place to a different local place that let us bring the dogs in. Cousin & I tasted the flight while the girls had root beer floats.

The beer situation is looking pretty good this year.

Put a Bell's Two-Hearted Ale clone in the fermenter this weekend. OG of 1.080 means 8-9% ABV in the final brew!

And then MarkO walked into a handy store in Ormstown and came out with two 950 ml cans of Canuck beer.
