Goto Trip Page: Hobbs Cabin Hike

Hobbs Cabin Hike
we left out kinda late that morning, around 7am at the trail head, showed her the short cuts, and a few trail magic's on the way. Oh it was so hot, but we made it around 1pm or so, had the cabin all to ourselves that night, other than the sneaky mouse or mice. Ranger came in we chatted I begged for a ride out the next day. I knew he would avoid us on Sunday evening. The temps, cooled down after sunset, really nice temps. We set up under the porch, and waited for the sleep to take us. Which happened. The next day we stayed on the porch other that going to pee, or try to poop. Need more water, lol. Folks started rolling in in the afternoon, but we fought them off, and kept the cabin again.Darn ranger didn't even care to check on us, that night, I knew it anyway. We watered up and bathed down. Gather wood, and light it up. After sundown we had the best shadow show we both have ever seen. It was not XXX rated either, just a really nice show, amazing what a camp fire light can do for visual effects. The mice or mouse raided us very well that night, Jen is not going to let one even get close, lol. Not alot of sleeping happened, Jen really kept them mice on the outs. Don't think a crumb got snatched that night. So up at 4:30, fixed breakfest and on the trail shortly after daylight, got a couple miles from the parking lot, and guess who comes strolling, yep that sneaky ranger, dressed like a trail jogger, lol, didn't fool me, I started whinning again. But, as I expected he admitted he avoided us, lol. Said I made it anyways. He was on his way to rescue one of those out of shape hikers who strolled into camp just short of death, he was breathing like a stopped up frieght train, whew, bad bad bad. I bet the ranger carried his pack out. Anyways, we got out of the park before sun got hot, around 10:30am. Got a couple soda's, then a good lunch and headed back home. One of the best hikes with lots of good conversation. :)

Ha! Loved your trip report! I really don't have much to add other than:

1) I'm a whimp
2) Hobbs cabin has mutant blood suckers and rats
3) Campfire shadow shows ARE amazing
4) I couldn't have asked for better company :)

Looking forward to the next adventure

Fun report! I admit I skipped past all the detailed description of the trail and mileage and all that.
