“No, we didn't make it. On Friday we went snow tubing in Boone and hoped to stop by Saturday to say hi to the TT'rs. But due to the heavy rains, we decided to head straight back to Raleigh.

Did you make it to SoRuck?”

I don't think he meant it to be a private thing...
I'm sure he posted it on the TT assuming it would be for all....he would have had to change the settings from friends to all.... Facebook is funny sometimes....and even when I have changed some of the settings, they change back again...”

“He made it a public event, and invited all his FB "friends". I don't care that he didn't "invite" me personally. What bothers me is that the whole world is now invited to stay at the TT'r site. Here on TT, the trip would be "public" too, but generally only us locals pay attention to the trips page.”

“can i camp with you all?// sounds like you are planning on a new camp site . i have been going there and cleaning our spot the weekend be 4 trail days and roping off our site . if you all are not planning on camping with me please let me know so i dont waste my time, I love cooking for tt and dont want to get there with food and my set up and you all are camping some place else..

“JB TruBrit is advertising the same spot TT used last year. I am guessing he knows this is TTs spot and he is just trying to get the word out on Facebook since there are some who cant post here. Hes a helpful guy like that ya know;)

“Sunni, I think TB is the only one who is banned from here who also goes to Trail Days. I can't think of anyone else.

He originally posted the trip on FB Trail Talk group page, deleted that one (or it was deleted for him), and then he reposted the trip as a general FB event. Unfortunately, when he did that, he made the trip a public event, thereby inviting the whole FB world to join us at the TT campsite. He also sent an invitation to all of his FB friends. He says now that he made a mistake and thankfully revised the trip to invite-only.”

“CD he never posted it on the FB page as an event of that page, it was and still is his event that has been shared on that page. Now it has become even more privileged because it is private.

The trip has always been posted on this board as an open trip with no one saying anything more than BE THERE. IMO that is how it should have been done on the FB page then allow everyone to add their 2 cents. This all too late now because it is FUBARed over there.

“Sticks, my concern was that there was a public open invitation to all of FB for anyone to camp at our campsite. The invitation is open here too, but nobody pays attention to that. Of course anyone can camp there; it's not ours and we have no right to keep anyone out and should not keep anyone out. In fact, we have often have non TT'rs camp there which I think is great.

But it would have been a shame for say 100 people to "sign up" on FB and show up at our spot and expect to have a campsite, food and drink, as advertised. Chances are there would not have been enough room for everyone.

Not sure what happened on FB. Last I looked we were all having a fun conversation.”

“I want to thank Trubrit for trying to rectify the issue by making the trip invite-only. And I apologize for a mess that I obviously started. That wasn't my intention. Sometimes tone and intention can be misconstrued on the internet. Once he made the change, I figured that was the end of the story. Not sure what happened after that.”
