Occupy Wall Street Manifesto
Demand one: Restoration of the living wage. This demand can only be met by ending “Freetrade” by re-imposing trade tariffs on all imported goods entering the American market to level the playing field for domestic family farming and domestic manufacturing as most nations that are dumping cheap products onto the American market have radical wage and environmental regulation advantages. Another policy that must be instituted is raise the minimum wage to twenty dollars an hr.

Demand two: Institute a universal single payer healthcare system. To do this all private insurers must be banned from the healthcare market as their only effect on the health of patients is to take money away from doctors, nurses and hospitals preventing them from doing their jobs and hand that money to wall st. investors.

Demand three: Guaranteed living wage income regardless of employment.

Demand four: Free college education.

Demand five: Begin a fast track process to bring the fossil fuel economy to an end while at the same bringing the alternative energy economy up to energy demand.

Demand six: One trillion dollars in infrastructure (Water, Sewer, Rail, Roads and Bridges and Electrical Grid) spending now.

Demand seven: One trillion dollars in ecological restoration planting forests, reestablishing wetlands and the natural flow of river systems and decommissioning of all of America’s nuclear power plants.

Demand eight: Racial and gender equal rights amendment.

Demand nine: Open borders migration. anyone can travel anywhere to work and live.

Demand ten: Bring American elections up to international standards of a paper ballot precinct counted and recounted in front of an independent and party observers system.

Demand eleven: Immediate across the board debt forgiveness for all. Debt forgiveness of sovereign debt, commercial loans, home mortgages, home equity loans, credit card debt, student loans and personal loans now! All debt must be stricken from the “Books.” World Bank Loans to all Nations, Bank to Bank Debt and all Bonds and Margin Call Debt in the stock market including all Derivatives or Credit Default Swaps, all 65 trillion dollars of them must also be stricken from the “Books.” And I don’t mean debt that is in default, I mean all debt on the entire planet period.

Demand twelve: Outlaw all credit reporting agencies.

Demand thirteen: Allow all workers to sign a ballot at any time during a union organizing campaign or at any time that represents their yeah or nay to having a union represent them in collective bargaining or to form a union.

These demands will create so many jobs it will be completely impossible to fill them without an open borders policy.

Admin note: This is not an official list of demands. This is a forum post submitted by a single user and hyped by irresponsible news/commentary agencies like Fox News and Mises.org. This content was not published by the OccupyWallSt.org collective, nor was it ever proposed or agreed to on a consensus basis with the NYC General Assembly. There is NO official list of demands.

It is likely someone somewhere is lying - taking one post (and if you look at the comments on the web sit - most people on that board are disagreeing with the proposed set of demands. This is typical misrepresentation by the media misinformation machine of the right - they are better at this stuff than the left.

On the other hand, to attack someone for reposting this stuff a liar and to get this personal over the "spreading lies" accusation is the kind of personal stuff that led to some of the fuego wars that took the fun out of TT.

It's definitely a good thing to correct these falsehoods and to encourage people to think and try to get the whole story before reposting stuff from propoganda websites. I personally appreciated seeing the original context of these "demands" and the commments the OWS folks were making.

Quick summary - fact check yes, admonishments to be more careful yes, researching for the real story - AMEN! No point though in getting nasty.

Way too many demands, Lloyd. I'm not the only person saying this. Occupy Wallstreet needs a laser-like focus if you want to get people on your side!

navingrey 53 points 3 days ago
These demands are inconsistent. And rather funny.
Take, for example, 1 (no free trade) and 9 (free immigration). they have the same effect, economically speaking
If Foreign is Labour abundant, then free trade would cause wages to fall at home and rise at foreign. Free factor movements (the phrase economists use to describe the movement of capital or labour instead or goods) have the same effect.
Yes, there is a consensus on this

meh, it's the left's tea party. A bunch of people without much understanding of politics or economics, all angry for various reasons and ignoranly directing their anger at some singular phantom evil they think is ruining the country.

And much like the tea party, at root it may be pushing for genuinely good things, but it has absolutely no chance of accomplishing anything because the only things its members can agree on are "I'm pissed off" and "those guys are the bad guys"

A Typical Day For The Goofs Occupying Wall Street

Wake up.

Skip shower and grooming.

Buy $10 grande mocha frappaccino at Starbucks.

Hang out at Starbucks for 3 hours using free wi-fi to check e-mails on $1,600 MacBook Air.

Head back to protest, ignoring numerous “Help Wanted” signs along the way.

Call daddy on iPhone to make sure he paid $59,208 Columbia tuition.

Ask daddy to add more money to meal plan and to send another $1,000 for spending money.

Work on paper for Lesbian Studies class.

Buy weed. Smoke weed.

Work on paper some more.

Order Domino’s pizza for lunch using credit card that daddy pays.

Take taxi to Abercrombie & Fitch for knit cap, because everyone else has one and it’s getting cold.

Bash a few Jews along the way.

Rejoin protest. Beat on bongo drums. Smoke more weed.

Use iPad 2 to check trust fund account and plan Gstaad ski vacation over Christmas, er, Winter Solstice, break.

Ponder the probability of the CIA together with the Jews bringing down the World Trade Center, along with the health consequences of wearing the same Victoria’s Secret thong for 6 days straight.

Smoke more weed. Trim underarm hair.

Make “A job is a right. Capitalism doesn’t work.” poster.

Walk to convenience store for $5.00 bottle of water and cigarettes.

Make out with half naked, emaciated dude with dreadlocks and a mangy mutt on a rope in exchange for some Xanax.

Do shots of tequila with Code Pink lesbians.

Pass out sandwiched between a burly dyke and some dude with pierced nipples.

Strat - you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

Weren't you #&%!$ing and moaning about the bank bailouts?

So are these people, only they've taken their protests to the scene of the crime.

The tea partiers should be joining them but they're too busy looking to elect more politicians that will work to overturn the anemic reforms put in place to help prevent the need for yet another bailout.

You want to help stabilize the economy and secure a better future for your children? Stop smearing these folks and instead send them a sleeping bag or buy them a few pizzas.

Pepsi., you're wrong too. You can say with a straight face that the TP has no influence? Might wanna check the recent election results. See the TP does it legally, by voting. The Coming Insurrection is here
Video Exposing How ‘Occupy Wall Street’ Was Organized From Day One by SEIU/ACORN Front – The Working Family Party, and How They All Tie to the Obama Administration, DNC, Democratic Socialists of America, Tides and George Soros
http://www.theblaze.com/stories/video-exposing-occupy-wall-street-was-organized-from-day-one-by-seiu-acorn-front-the-working-family-party-and-how-they-all-tie-to-the-obama-administration-dnc-democratic-socialists-of-america/
Breakdown of the Connections Between The Working Family Party, SEIU, ACORN, The New Party, The DNC, Democratic Socialists of America, Tides, George Soros and The Obama Administration:

* The Working Families Party was established in the 90s by key members of the the socialist organizations The New Party, ACORN, SEIU, and a coalition of other labor unions and community organizations.

* Patrick Gaspard, the current executive director of the DNC, former director of Obama’s Office of Political Affairs, was an organizer for the New Party, the executive vice president of the SEIU Local 1199, political director for Bertha Lewis (the former president of ACORN) and a co-chair of the Working Families Party.

* The New Party is a socialist political coalition co-founded in 1992 by academic and political activist Joel Rogers.

* The first strategic meetings to plan the New Party were held in Joel Rogers’ Madison, Wisconsin home; Wade Rathke, ACORN and SEIU founder and Gerry Hudson from Democratic Socialists of America and SEIU were in attendance at those meetings.

* The New Party’s influential Chicago chapter began to formed in January 1995. Its members consisted mainly of individuals from ACORN, SEIU and the Democratic Socialists of America. Obama attended a New Party function and received their endorsement in 1995.

* In 1994, a New Party newspaper listed more than 100 activists “who are building the NP;” some names among the list of 100 were Noam Chomsky, Frances Fox Piven, Wade Rathke, Cornel West, Jon Barton of SEIU, Maude Hurd of ACORN and Margaret Shelleda of SEIU.

* Gerry Hudson, SEIU Executive Vice President and original New Party member, serves on the board of the Apollo Alliance organized by Joel Rogers’ group COWS Center on Wisconsin Strategy. The Alliance is a project of the Tides Center. Harry Reid credited the Apollo Alliance with helping to write the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.

* George Soros’ Open Society Institute is a major source of money behind the Apollo Alliance and the Tides Foundation.

Of course, SEIU laid out the plans for Occupy Wall Street Months ago, as brought to you by the Blaze in this exclusive video:

I actually looked through those two videos. They strike me as a very selective and artful bit of red-baiting.

I don't doubt that there are people on the left involved in Occupy Wall Street. Much of the left is totally fed up with Obama and the Democrats. Obama has been incredibly moderate and middle of the road and has caved time and time again to the right, and it has gotten him and the country no where.

You'd be amazed to see how many communists and socialists were actively supporting civil rights, and opposing lynching back in the day. Radical professors were holding forums and teach ins against segregation laws, opposing child labor. Communists and socialists even supported Martin Luther King.

And - socialists and communists were among the most vocal and early voices against Adolf Hitler and the KKK.

Back in the day, people used red-baiting to try to discredit anti-facist campaigning, Martin Luther King, the civil civil rights movement, etc.

"Well, you mentioned Hitler, you know that the word nazi means the national socialist party, so you're statement is obviously infactual." It's hard to know where to begin in responding to that. It kind of exposes a great deal.

"Why don't you tell us about a sucessful socialist leader or country that we Can examine and think through the merits of....."

Actually, given what you guys are calling socialism - I can name some Socialist leaders who are doing pretty well. Look at Germany for example - its still doing very well and being asked to bail out its neighbor. Most of Europe is Socialist by your definition.

And FDR whose policies amounted to class war and socialism by the ways you define it - and according to the right wing opponents of his day - took the US from the great depression to win WWII and launch one of the greatest economic booms of all time.

As far as I can tell, all you want to do is bait. Mao and Stalin and the rest of the gang you mention are no heroes to most of the left today. A lot of the left is very wary of organized marxist-lenninists trying to infiltrate and take them over - the way organized folks with an agenda took over much of the tea party. The OWS folks also have booed Democrat politicians.

Marx called them useful idiots. Perfect description for most of them. But the orchistrators want to eliminate capitalism. In the end they want everybody's stuff. It's the only way, wealth equality justifies any means so it will eventually have terrifying consequences. We will no longer be free men. Think the unthinkable because it's fixin to happen. It's happened every single time. All it TatKes is 1 generation to lose freedom. It's not inherent and must be fought for. Do you want to be free? Do you want your grNdchildren to live the American dream? No one should have the power to tell me what I can earn, eat, keep, where I travel or work or live. So they will stop at nothing to reach this

Food stealing communists or Tea Partyers?
INDIANAPOLIS (WLS) - After a summer of battling bugs, pulling weeds and digging dirt in the stifling hot weather, gardeners of the Grassroots Community Farm were nearly in tears over the latest insult.

They struggled several times recently for answers to an unexpected problem at their three-acre plot near 38th Street and Lafayette Road.

Who would steal their hard-won tomatoes right off the vine? Who cut the collard greens and swiped their sweet potatoes?

Apparently, the gardeners decided, it wasn't deer from nearby Eagle Creek Park. Rather, it was the work of vegetable thieves who came equipped with shovels and plastic bags.

Their plot isn't the only community garden in the city to suffer thefts and vandalism this summer.

The Grassroots gardeners are all immigrants or refugees who moved to the U.S. to get away from danger in Africa or Asia, and most of them came from agricultural backgrounds, so they enjoy growing their favorite foods here.

Their plot is on a site donated by the owners of Lafayette Square Mall.

"I don't know why someone would steal from the gardens. I don't understand it unless they have some sense of entitlement," said Maria D. Beltran-Figueroa, who organized the Grassroots site.

Indianapolis is not alone with stories of garden thievery. The New York Times reported recently that veggie thefts this summer that have disheartened gardeners in New York's network of more than 700 community plots.....

Actually that's not what happened. Look at the history of Hitler's dealings with the left and organized labor. Stalin made a brief pact with Hitler - which horrified much of the left. This was a cynical pact aimed at furthering the Soviet Union's territorial ambitions - it had nothing to do with socialism.

If you want to look at ideological movements and groups that flirted with Hitler, it was the anti-communist right, wealthy capitalists and anti-immigration xenophobes who were most positive about Hitler's movement.
