Charit Creek Lodge

“The lodge has reopened under new owners. It closed back in Jan. Glad to see it come back. It is a great place to take a break while backpacking or to stay there overnight.

“Very interesting. I was at Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area one year ago. While there I experienced my 36 year Flashback. This caused me sorrow, heartbreak and an interest and study of flashbacks, memory and brainspotting.

Also. in nummerous visits I have exoerienced le Conte in each season of the year. I have not stayed at the Lodge, but always used the shelter.

Stokely, is the same family as in "Stokely Green Beans".

Stokely bought Van Camps and in turn sold to ConAgra.

Stokely and Bush pretty much "invented" cannned goods and were located just a few miles from each other. (Newport and Chestnut Hill).

Bush Brothers is still headquartered in KnoxVegas.”

“Yeah I always wondered why they kept the Charit Creek...it was very low volume. The biggest problem with this guy is he's a horse packer through and through so I see hiker business a thing of the past. He is going to set it up to cater to the horse packers...providing feed and bedding.”
