OK, I couldn't stand it, I HAD to tv-up. Well my wife will be thrilled (perhaps not as thrilled as rosey). She stands on the tip of the spear of American medicine. There's no doubt she's gonna shart her panties over this one. This was the worst of all outcomes to the medical community, something akin to treating AIDS with malaria, or perhaps she said it the other way 'round, whichever way she said it, I thawt it was a pretty fair summation of Obama's pet project.

I guess that's it: the government of America is now Europe. In 2010 He signed it, had enough votes in Senate to pass, and then the House too, and bam, now the Great US Supreme Court gave it the green light too. Welcome to the United States of Europe. Holy sheets you progressives don't know what you've fought so long and hard for, sadly we'll all be paying dearly for all your efforts.

I really do hope that Europe can effectively continue to hobble along thru our election cycle ..... it will ensure Obama's victory. The only real "cure" for our Obama problem will come with his reelection.

This could cost the President the election. He would rather run against an out of touch SC than tethered to an unpopular federal mandate passed by an even more unpopular congress.

Now what is the President's mission? Finally winning the war in Afghanistan? Don't hold your breath.

I'm glad ill be able to keep my kids on my policy until they're self sufficient.

I'm glad the insurance cos won't be able to drop anyone in my family if they get sick.

I'm glad people will be forced to pay for insurance even though in all their infinite wisdom they don't think they need it and would rather buy a new tv.

It ain't perfect but at least he had the balls to do something about it.

Yeah! giant win for the SEIU and big labor thugs, IRS agents(they will be enforcing it), and the moocher class(the democrats). I can't wait till going to the doctor is the same experience as going to the DMV, with the efficiency of the Post Office, and the compassion of the IRS. This will push us over that financial cliff. Just like SS it wont work out like they said. The reason that the proggies are so happy is that there is now officially nothing that the Empirical Federal Gubment can not
tax.

When you say "he" you mean Bob Dole right?

The President didn't propose or write anything. He simply signed whatever the democrats could pass. What they passed was essentially what Bob Dole had written as an alternative to "Hillarycare".

Obama forced the issue. I'm somewhat on the line if the timing was right given all of the other issues pressing our country, but this was huge one and one that is rapidly bankrupting the country. What??? What's that? Private industry bankrupting the country? NO WAY!!!!!

If we are to fundamentally change our healthcare system it should:

A) Be done on a state level so its not one noose around all our necks.
B) Be done with some thoughtful debate by interested parties and constituents.

This thing nobody has even read being shoved thru congress by five votes and surviving a SC challenge by one vote is no cause for celebration. This is corporate tyranny, there really is no other way to look at it. ...and Roberts is the deciding vote? I hope you Bush cheerleaders are happy.. what a complete disaster! Repeal is all we can hope for, but again, don't hold your breath.

If I have to explain this concept to you any further, it's the same as someone asking me why on earth would I want to hike 2200 miles along the Appalachian spine. So if the government gave these unisured 40 Million people say $1,000 a month to buy health insurance (probably MORE $$ is needed)but they were free to do what they want with the money How much would they BUY? Instead force them to pay and if they dont pay - fine them

They've screwed uP Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare, screwed uP the post office, education, and the housing market. Now you think it's a good idea to let them take over healthcare? Let them unionize all doctors and nurses? Let them start up 50 new agencies, 50 more layers of beauracracy?

I guess my opinion is not too far from the Ape's in some ways. I think the Republicans win by losing. The health care system has long been heading over a cliff. The plan as it stands did not change that much. By visibly getting in the drivers seat, the Democrats will largely take the blame as the system breaks down. The Democrats only hope is to either further the process of reform with more cost control (which will be tough since it means reigning in folks who are making big money off of it) or get ready to point the finger when the Republicans repeal it and things continue to get worse.

Usual suspects sustaining the usual political talking points.

I've seen "everything" political that strat sez on this board come from (R) talking points.

Hey, happens on both sides but the Republican waterboys here are truly notable and certainly quotable.

Strat and others here have been predicting the end of the country ever since, ahem, Daddeo got elected.

Some people just can't stand who is in office. Some people couldn't stand Bush while he was in office.

Some people don't understand that their feigned "outrage" against this President is nothing but empty rhetoric, supported by dumbass entertainment websites and what they read on bping message boards.

skip if ur not into lawng-winded BS
Ped the damdest thing of all is the fact that ultimately we are tracking a failing system either way we go, Republican or Democrat. Truth be told, at least with the Democrat way of healthcare, we can much more quickly arrive at the point of utter failure, ergo, possibly then implementing something better (ye rite), way sooner than what any Republican committee could come up with.

My boy turns 10 today (well, now that I look at the clock, it was technically yesterday) and this topic come up. I simply cannot get my in-laws, God luv'em, to understand that who really cares if Romney gets elected, it won't make a hill of beans. True enough no matter who runs against Obama he/she/it will be a better president than Obama, but in real life in America it won't matter in the long run. Fact: the silent majority of Americans that are red, white, and blue lovin' conservatives no longer exists. The coin has slowly turned over completely, after about what... 4 decades, there are now too many Americans that think like Q. Those like Q have a much more world view, and far far worse, a European world view. The long battle that "Progressives" have been waging is more than just showing some positive results, it has actually now mainstreamed. If you look at polls, what's the saddest is that among our younger population, including twenty yr olds, the percentage of liberals is much higher than what liberals could have ever dreamed of, particularly with college educated youth. What does this mean? The end of what we have historically known as the miracle and magic of "America". Right this very moment, even while we watch European systems socially and economically stumble and fail, we in America are hell-bent on copying them.........

......oh heck, this Kingpen, the third, is 7.5% ! O my Gawd, I'm bout lit...... uh, I better take this up later (giggle), knowwhutImean?

"I simply cannot get my in-laws, God luv'em, to understand that who really cares if Romney gets elected, it won't make a hill of beans."

If you really believe this, you need to come here to Michigan and see what kind of bullshyt the Kock Brothers have done to us via Dick Snyder.

Big Dick and his westside buddies are doing there best to plunder this state to give to thier big business buddies.

Big Dick is trying to take credit for the budget surplus we have that was actually created by the measures put into place by our last, Democrat (who sucked, too) Governor.

Big Dick is trying to bury public education, and replace it with Charter schools, which are run by his buddies. Further, Charter schools, by their own numbers, are not stable and do not provide any better education than public ed. That's from their own numbers.

Thankfully, Big Dick will be a one-termer. The TBers capitalized on citizenry apathy but lucky for us, Big Dick is starting to see some losses, and we the people of the Great State of Michigan have taken a stand against this shyt leader who usurps the political process and institutes Dictators in some of our cities.

So, you don't think for one second that if Romney is elected it won't be that big of a deal, your just playing into their hands.

Uh, yeah that kills me profoundly, I can assure you. I'm not sure what exactly you're counterpointing, but everything you said about your Big Dick supports my argument that it don't really matter who gets elected, Joe Plumber is going to get screwed. We can elect Moron #1 or we can elect Moron #2, it won't matter, other than the obvious fact that your Moron is whole-heartedly anti-American in every single thing he does. America's cancer is nourished societally, not politically. Those in politics are just taking advantage of their free and endless smorgasbord of our stupidity.

Q, you telling anyone that "your just playing into their hands" is as insane as it is asinine! That point cannot be made by Progressives, not without looking foolish.

And charter schools huh, you don't know what you're talking about. But perhaps Michigan and WNC are completely different. I don't know a single thing about Michigan's charters, so if what you say is the case, then it's a shame, I am saddened for your children. Here in NC our public school system is nothing less than all-to-hell.
