North Bend State Park, WV

“Anyone ever been to this state park? We are planning on meeting our daughter there for a weekend. Look forward to any feedback.”

“I've checked that out, but wanted to see if anyone has been there.”

“Been there done that too.”

“Well, what did you think?”

“Yes, there is a rail trail there, take your bike.”

“Oh, and go over to Blennerhasset Island if you have time. It's an immersion park and a fun way to spend the day. In fact...I'd skip North Bend and just go there.”

“Can you camp on the island?”

“jeez...feel like you are pulling teeth windi?”

“Ummm, it's been awhile but I don't think so. It's more of a day trip. There are a ton of things to do on the island and it has a lot of history. To get to the island you have to take a 20m ride on a sternwheeler. We rent bikes when we go and bike around the island. It's near NBSP so you could camp there and visit the island during the day.

When are you doing this trip and why are you meeting in that area, does she go to school nearby or something?”

“We are going this weekend. Anyone wanting to come and hang out with my crazy family is welcome to join us!
My daughter lives in the DC area and this is a half way point for both of us. We are meeting for the weekend just to see her and hang out. I think we are going to see about renting a fishing boat on Friday or Saturday for the guys (maybe girls too) to take out. There is suppose to be a good bike trail there as well. Beth is planning on bringing her bike and the rest of us will be renting.”

“You guys could drive a lil further than the halfway point to my cabin in the more scenic and fun area of WV...Seneca Rocks, Dolly Sods, etc. Near Elkins, WV.”
