“The Eagles of Death Metal and Band of Horses are a couple of newer bands with a good classic feel to them”
vock out vich yer cock out.”
“Far be is from me to promote thread degradation but..........who/what killed or marginalized (classic) rock and roll? Disco? Hair Nation?”
“time. music makes large changes every decade or so. the music everyone`s playing starts feeling stale, and lo! a new genre is born”
“It is still around, but it has evolved.
Rosey, you gots mail.
Back on topic....
I need help posting pictures of the beast guitar(s) ever!”
“Howz `bout yoo, Pepsis?
I can email the picture.”
“back at ya. ya gotta host it somwheres.”
“Did you get the email and were you able to see the picture?”
I wouldn`t say it`s the best ever but My lovely bride got me one of these and it`s pretty sweet. It definitely takes some getting used to to play but it`s a serious, quality instrument. I took it on the Buffalopalooza hike....well at least part of the hike anyways. It`s almost too nice to go dragging around the woods....”
“I have taken my son`s Martin Backpacker on some trips.
The lack of playability makes for a good training device and it is a lot of fun on the trail.”
“Yeah I agree. It`s way better than nothing when you`re hiking. I was just really impressed how well it`s made, stays in tune, intonation etc.”
“I gots the email with the pics but cant post on pic sites from verk or I would do you the favor.”
“Marko, try something like photobucket (they`re still free, right?) - once you upload it, you can post the picture on here. I`m in the same boat as Rosey, I can`t do jack here at work”
“good guitar players are out there - but what happened to the bands?”
YO HPD! Want me to send you some new cool stuff?
I do agree, it is tough to find new music with a soul.”
“Best guitar? Mine. Very very low mileage. Gently strummed once or twice.”
“sure WK, what do you have.”
“all my guitars are so used and abused, I could never resell them. Nor would I want to”
“Ever hear of Wilco, My Morning Jacket or Son Volt?”
“or the White Stripes”
“I can build you a nice new one, Pepsis.”
“No, I thought I heard of Wilco, but I'm thinking of Meco.
“Send me an email with your home address and I will see if I can get you some tunes before Christmas.”
“This young lady will be preforming in my town in January
“Nice stuff, Coco~!
There are a lot of really good young women in music............Things have changed.
Mike Doughty played in my town at the Recher Theater 25 Nov and Davy Knowles on 26 Nov.
People have to find the good music and not expect commercial radio to offer it.”
“MarkO, a nice new guitar? Really? You build guitars?
if you`re serious, I might take you up on that sometime next year”
“In the last few months I build three Telecasters for myself and my son and one for a friend.
Finished necks and bodies are widely available and I can set `em up with any of a wide variety of pickups.
The ones I built all have the vintage style bridge with the three compensated brass saddles and different pickup types for a "taste test".
I can set them up to play real nice.
Next project will be a Stratocaster. I have everything but a body and tremolo bridge on hand.
(if my wife only knew how much "stuff" I have accumulated......)
Last winter I built a P Bass from parts.
I am a master of 1950`s technology!”
“That is The Trailing Edge Of Technology, by golly.”
“damn, that`s hardcore”
