The Eagles of Death Metal and Band of Horses are a couple of newer bands with a good classic feel to them

time. music makes large changes every decade or so. the music everyone`s playing starts feeling stale, and lo! a new genre is born

I wouldn`t say it`s the best ever but My lovely bride got me one of these and it`s pretty sweet. It definitely takes some getting used to to play but it`s a serious, quality instrument. I took it on the Buffalopalooza hike....well at least part of the hike anyways. It`s almost too nice to go dragging around the woods....

I have taken my son`s Martin Backpacker on some trips.

The lack of playability makes for a good training device and it is a lot of fun on the trail.

Yeah I agree. It`s way better than nothing when you`re hiking. I was just really impressed how well it`s made, stays in tune, intonation etc.

Marko, try something like photobucket (they`re still free, right?) - once you upload it, you can post the picture on here. I`m in the same boat as Rosey, I can`t do jack here at work

I do agree, it is tough to find new music with a soul.

Best guitar? Mine. Very very low mileage. Gently strummed once or twice.

Nice stuff, Coco~!
There are a lot of really good young women in music............Things have changed.

Mike Doughty played in my town at the Recher Theater 25 Nov and Davy Knowles on 26 Nov.

People have to find the good music and not expect commercial radio to offer it.

MarkO, a nice new guitar? Really? You build guitars?

if you`re serious, I might take you up on that sometime next year

In the last few months I build three Telecasters for myself and my son and one for a friend.
Finished necks and bodies are widely available and I can set `em up with any of a wide variety of pickups.
The ones I built all have the vintage style bridge with the three compensated brass saddles and different pickup types for a "taste test".
I can set them up to play real nice.

Next project will be a Stratocaster. I have everything but a body and tremolo bridge on hand.
(if my wife only knew how much "stuff" I have accumulated......)

Last winter I built a P Bass from parts.

I am a master of 1950`s technology!
