Crash I happen to have known people who shoot guns for fun, competition and they don't hunt, carry for defense or kill anything.

I am glad that you feel confident enough with the federal government to think registration is a good idea and that no abuse of that information would occur. I am not though.

Guns are registered in Canada. After a half billion dollars wasted on the registration process, they have not solved one crime because of it. They HAVE seized firearms in violation of the useless law thereby reducing the ability of the firearm owners to defend themselves. Registration laws that do not reduce crime and DO make otherwise honest citizens criminals has no place in society.

As a gun owner and a hunter, I am also not comfortable with some of the gun registration laws, but that doesn't apply to fully automatic weapons and conceal and carry. On the other hand, I don't agree with the paranoia that is created and fostered by NRA and some politicians. Mostly, though, it's just not a hot button issue with me.

And again, we can see from the post Katrina house to house search and confiscation of legal weapons that our governments can NOT be trusted in this matter. Everyone says it's paranoia but we have examples of abuse.

Why is it that the crazy people on the Internet always seem to be crazy about guns?

They seem to think the crazier they talk the more it furthers their cause, but in reality it only makes them appear more unbalanced.

You cant have your fruitcake and eat it, too.

WAY offtrack

and obviously, you know whats going on in my head better than i do. tell me, what do i want for breakfast? cereal with milk and juice, or eggs and bacon?

maybe im wrong about the registration issue. if someone can present an empirical, objective study saying that we are safer as a society without registration, fine, you win the argument

but dont tell me what im thinking. dont tell me what im implying. if i tell you that X is what i meant, i wasnt implying Y

got it?

Oh abuses occur but when we look at the number of guns in America we can only come to the conclusion that shyt stays pretty quiet considering there are, what, 3 guns for every man woman and child? Relatively speaking of course.

So one question that comes to mind. Should protesters have to register for every protest or demonstration they attend?
Nigal
4:06:50 PM

NO

Do you have a problem with protest and demonstration?

Back in the '60s and '70s quite a few otherwise "normal" people expressed the opinion that "protesters should all be shot".

That sure seems like a communist attitude.
The Chinese government did that in 1989.
