The question is, does a just Sherrif run the outcast out of town just because the town folk hate him for what he did in the past? It's clearly the easiest solution, is it the right one?


- imagine an ex-con moves into town and everyone is up in arms. The guy is no angel, but he is behaving better than some of the locals who are picking fights and trying to run him off. Do we run him out of town or do we crack down on the locals and start locking them up?


I keep coming back to two things I've said time and time again:

1) how do you explain the people who don't join in the fray?

2) no one makes me post anything.

Of course no one is forced to post anything. But when someone (or some people) spend all of their time waving their hands 1/2 in from your nose saying "im not touching you" it gets old.

The other question is does the ex-con bring anything of value (other than website hits) to the neighborhood? Beyond flooding in tattle tale reports. We each are the sum total of what we do (at least as it relates to TT) and our posts follow us since they are us. No one can cry foul when for yrs they were an ass and decided they were done and folks wont give em a fair shake now. Once bitten twice shy.

if the past stayed in the past, i would agree...but it keeps repeating itself

i'll carry birch's analogy a little further...if my neighbor keeps #&%!$ting in my yard every day, i might be able to ignore it a few days in a row but eventually i'm going to act on it...now, i have two options, i can handle the issue myself or call the cops...i don't want to come to blows with the guy but i don't want to unnecessarily involve the authorities either so my first step is to try to resolve it myself...if that doesn't work, then i'll involve the authorities

in this analogy, "#&%!$ting in the yard" is when a poster is derogatory, insulting, or condescending to another poster (some i consider friends), when the situation doesn't call for it...when things get heated on fuego, that's one thing, but when it happens on threads where people are just having a conversation or asking for advise, that's when people feel they need to say something...i'd rather try to defuse the situation myself, than run to the mods

as far as your "why don't other people join in" or "no one makes me post", that's just a difference in personalities...no one made you reveal that you're a mod and nobody made the other mods stay in anonymity, but you did”

There is someone on here that I had a little discussion with on FB. Because I didn't know who they were on TT I found out so should we meet up on the trail I could avoid conflict.

People fire off at each other on Fuego then meet up on a trip. The crap said in Fuego is never brought up even after the parties involved have called each other every 4 letter name in the book online.
