I've Got No Problem With Glenn Beck

As a matter of fact, honest discussion of ideas has been the underlying point in almost all my posts over the years. I love to pick on "liberals" because so many of them are so obviously dishonest, but it's about principles, not group identity.

So many people are so stuck in their group identity that they just follow in lock-step when the leadership of their group says jump. They refuse to admit when the actions of their group produce bad results. They demonize those who hold differing views from their group. Apparently it's human nature to some extent but it's always been harmful.


I've always liked Sarah Palin. I admire her courage, I like how she tells it like she sees it, and I don't think she's unintelligent. But I saw something last night that reinforced why my principles towards term limits and limited government remain intact.

Palin was on Greta Van Susteren. At one point in the conversation Greta asked her to name the congressman in NH who she endorsed. Palin just stared closed mouthed at the camera. As the silence continued, and then she answered Greta's next question, it was obvious that she couldn't remember the guy's name.

Holy cow, what's so difficult about honestly admitting "I don't remember at this moment"? Who did she think she was fooling by just staring at the camera?

Who cares if her enemies made a point of criticising her for that? Her enemies will critisize her for anything. We already know that and I for one always listen to bigots with a large amount of skepticism.


I want honesty and common sense from my politicians. Limiting their terms and benefits ensures that they have less incentive to represent themselves instead of the people. Understanding that many politicians are less than honest, we ensure that we limit the control these people have over our lives if we limit the size of governmental control they can wield.”

We know you don't like Palin but at least make an insult that makes sense. This is something you may want to remember for the future:

Intelligence Quotient Tests (how scientists scientifically measure intelligence) do not measure ability to memorize.

If we assume that Sarah Palin traveled to NH to only to endorse one candidate, then traveled home to continue her private life, rosey may have a valid point.

I we assume that Sarah Palin has been traveling the country endorsing many candidates while meeting and greeting many people, then rosey’s made another point. But I don’t think it’s the one he intended to make.


It’s wonderful that rosey has set such high standards for himself. Although I’m not sure that having a perfect memory means it’s a good thing for him to then make fun of people who lack perfect memories.

I called someone, whom I have known for a year, by a wrong name this past weekend. I’ve set high standards for myself as well. I try to live by consistent principles. Those principles include apologizing for my mistakes and not expecting people to live up to standards I wouldn’t set for myself. Lacking a perfect memory myself, if I expected someone else to exhibit a perfect memory, I’d have to really examine whether I was setting unreasonably high standards for someone else. If I made fun of them for not having a perfect memory I’d be a complete hypocrite.
