Zumwalt Meadow
Me and James (Exavius) went to Kings Canyon NP Saturday morning to see what we can capture. We hiked a "mainly flat" 1.5 mile round trip at Zumwalt Meadow. There was a couple of boulder fields that we had to climb up/down (remember I can't bend my knees), so it was a bit tricky at times, but I made it. Not quit ready to backpack though. He was nice enough to give me the photos of me so I posted some of those too.

Ansel Adams?

Trying to "get the shot", I had to climb up a rock to capture this. In the process of doing that a banged my "knee"...but I got the shot!

Thanks for sharing! beautiful pics! I took a day hike in King's Canyon a couple weeks ago to Mist Falls and a bit beyond. I'd never been there before as I always go to Yosemite in the summer. It was a day to remember, and I will be hiking there as much as I can in the summers from now on!

Nice pics dude. California's National Parks are almost good enough to warrant moving out there, but then I'd have to live outside the parks and that would suck.

Mike, all the pics are great but the 5th one is my favorite. From the angle I can imagine sitting in that river kicked back after a long day, lettin the cold water wash over me while I enjoyed the view. THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FYI: Your watermark is incorrect...it is .com instead of .org

Too bad that last picture is making the air pollution layer in the valley look inviting.

Be careful dude don' want to bust up all that work! Great peak pics.

Mike, great pics as usual. Glad you got out in the backcountry. Looks like you had a little smoke from all of the fires. I am headed out into King's Canyon (Evolution Valley) this weekend and hope they get those fires under control by then (not only for my sake).

Take it easy!!!

Hey Hikin Mike, when are you going to put together another photography book?

Sticks - I have two websites, my backpacking site "TheBackcountry.org" and my photography website, ImagesInTheBackcountry.com"

Yeah the fires are sad, but it makes for great photos.

I so wanted to just jump in into the river!

Tree - I need to wait until I get enough photos to make a new book. I need a new title since I can now get around without my car, wheelchair or walker!

If anybody is interested, my book "Along the Road" is still available through Blurb.com.
