Some of my pics from the actual backpacking trip:

Tumble Creek near sunset.

We ultimately could not cross this glacial stream. It doesn't look big but the flow rate was amazing. Being that it is glacier fed, you cannot tell how deep it is.

First full day was above tree line. It was rock scramble all day.

Last camp.

Snow did get down to our level one day. The locals call this "Termnation Dust" meaning that the summer is ending.

A gorgeous sky on morning two. Jackstraw can be seen in motion.

The Tumble Creek "Bypass". We got cliffed in while following Tumble Creek and had to climb out.

First view of Tumble Creek on day 3. Notice the clear snow-fed creek on the right as opposed to the silty water from the glacial stream.
For scale, if you look closely you can see some of our group down near the creek. Look for blue dots on the right third.....

Looking back at the "Bypass" on day 4.

Duanehiker, Jackstraw, and Fridge look over at the "three lakes" we had considered hiking by.

End of day 2 in the rain.

Good morning Alaska on the morning of day 3.

Me on the morning of day three. You can see the SPOT unit on top of my pack.

First flower as we descended.

Da Fridge was often told to "go fly a kite"....

A few from my glacier cruise...
Sea Lions

Glacial Calving.

Yep, HPM's been kind of pushing to organize an Alaska trip for us. I don't know when that would be, since he plans on hiking us around parts of Yellowstone next summer.

“Hey Chin, what are you using to "process" some of those photos?”

Using a method called HDR. It allows for multiple exposures to he combined into one image to more accurately see what the human eye can process. Without it areas would be under or over-exposed.

Yellowstone is on my list too. Since I missed my trip there in 2002.

Pray this campground sells, then I'll be free to hike, hike, hike!

Those are great. Nice shots, Dub. Really liked "Lurking Mountains" and the boulder riverbed shot of your last camp. Just stellar. Alaska looks amazing. The water looks silty as hell. Did you guys have filter issues?

Fridge, I'll send it tonight, it will be a huge file. If you're gonna get it printed make sure you take it to a professional printer and not Target so the colors come out correctly, otherwise it might look a lil odd printed.

Here's how it all went down. I was in my dorm room reading the Bible when Fridge and Jackstraw burst into my room and grab my arms and drag me down to the truck. I ask where we are going and Fridge says "The Great Alaskan Bush Company." I innocently believed it was Alaska's version of REI. Once I discovered it was not I refused to enter such a place full of evil temptresses. They held me down in the parking lot and forced me to drink coke from a bottle, they didn't stop pouring it down my throat until half of the bottle was empty. I then realized it was evil Jack Daniels Old Whiskey No. 7. All I had in my wallet was Bible tracts, so Fridge gave me all of the money from poor innocent Duane's wallet, which happened to be all in dollar bills. From that point I don't remember much of what happened but I couldn't have had a good time because I woke up in the dorm broke, Bible closed, and a headache.
