"nervous yet?"

Nope. The local, regional and statewide teabaggers in Michigan are ripe for a major ass kicking.

Folks 'round these parts here don't really take too kindly to morons stealing pies off of the public window sill ...

Well Strat, if the Tea Party is such a political force, how does the GOP end up with Mitt?

It's faux reform, promoted by faux news.

I just see the tea party as another distracting arm of the old establishment itself.

Sarge got one thing right about this, and that is that the tea party is a set of ideals. The manifestation of it in contemporary politics, however, is as you describe. Big difference, one that the MSM and the political establishment has fought hard to ignore.

"Yeah, big labor got you by the balls up there."

Yeah, big labor helped save this State, and a large part of the United States manufacturing base and economy. They made huge concessions during bankruptcy, and worked with management this time around instead of against it. Due in part to those concessions, "union thugs" all across my state were rewarded with bonus checks that mostly went right into the local economy and help stabilize the state. Good thing those plants that those union bassturds are working on can be retooled for our war machine; but that's besides the point.

BTW - Bet you didn't know Michigan is leading the country in economic recovery? That's due to the economic reforms/stability that our previous governor got into place, that now our DB TBer governor is trying to take credit for.

"How's Detroit looking these days anyways? Neighborhoods all cleaned up yet? Crime down?"

Our Tea Bagger governor has tried his best to bury what is left of that city. He came in and purposefully created financial situations throughout the State's stock of cities through withholding revenue sharing, raising taxes on the old and poor and shifting 1.8 billion dollars in tax breaks to businesses (that haven't come). Yep, he even screwed the car companies with his new tax system. Under his administration Detroit has become much worse. The city has a lot of assets that the State has been chomping at the bit to get to for 20 years. The region was struggling before, and he's made it a lot worse in Detroit, and other cities that have black majorities.

Hell, the EFM law is going to get repealed, sending your DB TBer pals screaming and pissing their pants.

"Hey, isn't Michigan next to Wisconsin? Seems like they were in the news recently.
Heh heh...."

Snyder is just fed by the Koch brothers, just like that moron in Wisconsin governor who is the subject of a John Doe political corruption investigation. Looks like he thinks he is above the law as well, and doesn't mind using taxpayer resources for personal gain, eh? Walker will be walking out soon enough.

If you've got the time you should come up here; I'd love to show you around ...

"Q" you are at least partially right. The big unions did make some concessions. After they bargained for years to destroy the auto industry and the economy, they gave back a little bit. How magnanimous of them.

On another note, I find it telling that the liberals can't express themselves with out name calling. Tells me they can't defend their positions so out come their big weapons.

Name calling and vicious threats seem to be the mode for liberals everywhere, I guess. Thankfully the threats don't seem to be as prevalent here as most other places.

You're probably right about that. My point being the country will remain a mess until we decide to hold those responsible for the mess accountable. Republicans and democrats.

I disagree with Sarge's contention that the tea party is a set of ideals. If it were, and they were concerned about bloated government spending, there would be an anti-war narrative in their platform. There isn't. At the end of the day we know the tea party will vote for Mitt and the status quo.

They are both for the insane wars we have started, costing untold billions and the nations credibility.

They are both for the Patriot Act and the spying and now killing of US citizens.

They are both for government health care, actions, of course, speaking louder than words.

There is no principle of limited government under which the tea party operates. Don't kid yourself! ..it must be they just like the funny hats.

People being frustrated with their choices will increasingly cost incumbents their jobs, that's not a mandate for the tea party, its a coincidence.

And again, Presidents don't spend much money, centainly not trillions. Obama spent war money on Lybia, Egypt, probably some in Syria. The deficit spending you and cliff are talking about is Congress spending.

"Don't play dumb Q."

Not playing dumb; just reacting to your statement that equated low housing values with snipers shooting at firemen. That statement made zero sense.

As to home values; Detroit is not insulated from the Republican-facilitated blow up of the housing market. Due to an Aryanian economic philosophy from the fine folks on Wall Street and the Fed; Detroit's housing market became over inflated and blew up like many other cities across this great nation.

While your "article" is really an opinion piece, it fails horrifically to point out all of the tremendous amount of investment that has come into the city in the past 10 + years. You can look up people by the name of Karmanos, Illitch and Gilbert is see what has come to the inner city. Heck, Detroit was really rolling in the movie biz until our TBer Govoner stepped in and Deep Six'd that puppy. Too bad, we lost about 25,000 jobs right off the bat over that (it was one of the first things he did).

It's really too bad that our TBer Governor threw 20,000 people off of the roles over the summer, too. It's kind of interesting that the majority of these folks all pretty much lived live in a certain place in Detroit, and they are the poorest of the poor zip code in the state as well.

Even in that area, they don't shoot firefighters ....

"Maybe it would be better if you would tell me how the tea party differs from republicans.”

Here I agree with you; however, you'll be waiting a long time. Strat's hatred of Obama is so thick that he will not be able to present a viable, reasonable and lucid reasoning as to the differences in the TBer land and Republican - ville because Dick Army, the Koch Brothers and FreedomWorks have him so skull-phucked that if they don't tell him what to say, he can't speak for himself.

"Devil's night? Ringing any bells? How can you live up there and not know this stuff?

Devil's night hasn't been in issue around these parts in many, many years. Since Mayor Archer started "Angel's Night" during the 90's, those actions have dramatically decreased over the years to less than what happens on a typical night in Detroit.

That's the type of information a person has when they live in the area, and do not rely on crappy sources, campy.

"Low housing values? $6,000! Where else in the country can you buy a home for six grand? Detroits a mess, I'm sure its not your governors fault cause its always been a mess.
