Did this trip last year, awesome!
this will be a 40-50 mile trip. I'll fly into Boise, rent a car & drive to Stanley where we will start our hike Redfish lake loop rated (Difficult)the above is a 40-50 mile loop(Dependent on route taken) in the Sawtooth National Rec, area and looking to cover 8-10 miles per day LOTS OF PHOTO OPPS
We will split car rental and gas see Trip Planning for proposed hike and camping locations will be disclosed at a latter date.”
“I love the alpine lakes up there. I'll have to keep this under consideration.”
“I take a CART(?) shuttle from ID Falls to Challis when I fly there. The cost is minimal. I bet you could find something similar.”
“what is your route in the Sawtooths? I am planning a scout trip there in August. Mine is Lake Petit to Sawtooth Lake, and out to Iron Creek Campground. We'll see almost all the high lake basins.”
“bob, most likly very similar to last years. redfish etc.... wish you would go!”
“I'll keep track of the dates, and see what works out. I'm going on a week long hike at spring break, and a week long one in August in the Sawtooths, but maybe I could do a weekender and hike in with your party a ways. Not enough days available for the good stuff!”
“keep me posted.”
“I may be interested in this.. never done sawtooths but I've always wanted to as I drive past them on the freeway. Depends on the dates, as I am pretty tapped out this summer for time but if I can fanagle it I will try.”
“we can meetup at the redfish lodge sat the5th of sept.”
“Well that date counts me out. Have fun on the hike!”
“as I drive past them on the freeway.
You must be referring to other Sawtooths (there is more than one sawtooth range).
El Capitan looks awesome from Lake Alice - the El Capitan of the Idaho Sawtooths, that is ;)”
“yeah, I've never been on that freeway.”
“BOL! I see the Windtooths ever time we go to Abalamma!”
“I got the time off and I am going. Idaho here I come. Where is Idaho anyway?”
“out west! yo bear!”
“If all goes swimmingly, I will be a resident of Challis by hike time. I am working on letters of interest to a number of local employers.”
“This sounds like the right move for you, gojo. You are definitely an Idaho guy. my impression is that there would more jobs in other places in Idaho, but if you really like Challis, go for it.”
“keep track of the time”
“can i ride shotgun?”
“what kind of work are you looking for? You have no interest in Boise? because that is where a lot of jobs are. Bob”
“yo bear! i sent you an email last friday. did you get it?”
“just got in from easter in cancun trip. Yes and info shall be forth comming. yo bear!”
“what is the ground like at the campsites? will i need freestanding tent or will stakes be easy to use?”
“free standing is nice however you can use stakes if you prefer/ yo bear!”
“Have you picked dates yet?”
“check out the trip page. And you could fill out the profile page. Yo bear!”
“I'm in NJ most of the time. I do most of my longer trips in AZ and CO. I did a version of this loop a couple years ago.”
“welyouwould be welcomed. let me know, when you know.6-8 would be the max”
“6-8 hikers that is!”
“oh, oh, oh.. pick me, pick me.....”
“ure in bud!”
“oh, oh...pick me next, pick me next!”
“yeah, pick her next, pick her next!!!”
“yeaaaahhh babbaaaaaaby!! :)”
“ok ,you are in! yo bear!”
“I got an email from The Friendly Ranger last week. She said Stanley has two feet of snow on the ground. It must be yards deep at elevation - pack snow shoes :)”
“All that snow will go fast in Stanley, and will be gone from the trails by mid July. I have an 8 day backpack planned in the Sawtooths in late August. We will hike from Petit Lake to Sawtooth Lake, and exit via Iron Creek Campground.”
“2ft aint no snow for idaho! we are backpackers!bring it on. oh yea! Had 5" last year on the first night at cammer lake.”
“I've just signed up for this trip. I hope I'm below the max hikers limit.
I would fly into Boise and would love to share a rental car with others.
I'm looking forward to this trip.”
“gooral, you have mail.”
“I'm going to hang out and see who else signs up. My schedule is iffy and I don't want to take a slot from somebody that hasn't already been there.”
“gooral UI neeed you to send me your phone number.
