We'll have to find another trip to meet up.

LOL yeah I kinda figured between you and Nigal I wouldn't have any problem getting rid of it!
(but I'm still betting MG's ugly mug will show up at some point on this trip...you know he's not going to be able to resist!)

Don't give him any ideas.

I am guessing the Deam is pretty muddy after all the rain the area got last week, ey? Probably need to waterproof the boots

I would think so. Right now the weather is looking pretty wet for this trip, but it will change at least a couple of times between now and then.

i think i figured out my route for this trip:

drive to hayes trailhead, bushwack to patton cave, throw up my tent, then continue exploring (bushwack to the southeast end of the peninsula)

im done with the trails at deam. from now on, when i go, it's bushwack time!

Don't throw your tent up if it is windy. It may blow away.

I may follow you, don't know yet.

ARG.... I'm gonna be in Hoosierville that weekend but the trip looks a little advanced for me. I don't know the area at all and I'm not sure I would want to be doing unmarked tarils by my lonesome and I am not sure I could do the 4 miles by the time I got from New Castle down to where ever this is.

rev, i doubt if everyone is bushwacking. so far, im the only one who is for certain. you could hang with windigrrl. she's slow as the dickens, too.

Yeah, you can hike with me. You might even pass me up. I'll be on the trails. New Castle shouldn't be more than a couple of hours away, I think. Let me know if you're interested in coming and we can set something up.

hmmm... I'm going to have to see what is going on. I am tied up until Saturday afternoon in New Castle. Flamingo will be with me but she will not be camping. I am in Indiana in hopes of getting called to a church out in that neck of the woods so I can't duck out of the program until it is over. I'll let you know in a day or two. I have a dinner engagmnet with my daughter that I need to get ready for.

How close can I get to cave and park? I have a long drive on Sunday and I need to get started reasonable early in the morning. A 4 mile hike out ain't gonna cut it.

“I have a final that Friday night, it is doubtful you will see us until camp on Saturday. It's been a few years since I've been to Patton...anyone have GPS coords for it?

if anyone does, i would rather not see them posted. send the info by email, instead, please. i'd rather not have the exact whereabouts broadcasted so every tom, dick, and bubba can come and trash the place. some places should be kept special

I believe the hike out in Sunday will be about 5 miles, but it's a pretty easy hike out. I don't know of a shorter way.

Dub, I don't have the GPS coordinates to the cave, but Chin Music might. I'll e-mail him and see if he's got them, if he does, I'll pass them on to you.

Okay.... then I have to beg off on this. If I was there by myself I might indulge but since flamingo will be with me and she needs to get home for work on Monday... I have to take that into consideration.
Sorry folks.

There is now a decent chance I CAN make this trip.

Dub and pug - I have the Syncpack already. Haven't placed it on my pack yet.

Like to maybe make this trip depending on work obligations. I've been to the HNF before
(Two Lakes Loop?) but coming from Nashville, what would be my best route to get there?
And, as regards:

“i just sent an email to nigal to explain how to get there, because i'd rather not advertise it. guess i shouldve mentioned that”...

..is there something special I should know to make this trip?

Thanks folks.

Bring "lawyers, guns, and money"!
Or if you don't have any of those just bring bourbon!

On a more serious note...I would bring 65 up to IN 46...that's by far the easiest way...

And Fri night's campsite is pretty easy to find...Crash is just being a little protective of Sat. night's site...

I think he's just afraid someone's gonna steal his "Love Rock"! lol

i just dont want too many bubba campers to know where it is

i know people probably think im being ridiculous. but all it takes is one of the wrong kind of party to know where it is, and it is ruined.

Now that I have the GPS coords, I'm going to unload my bulldozer from my truck and have pug plow a path to the cave so I can get the RV up there...nothing like watching satellite tv at a remote location.
