“18 inches at 4500 ft. Drifts are 3 ft plus....I estimate 2 ft above 5000ft and who knows about drifts at that altitude ...winds are 45 plus.
Winter wonder land for those who have the right stuff....MarkO...My pond is rock solid
Pulk sled will work well.”

“This trip should have bben called BLOW YUR ARSE OFF. Wind speeds at 60 or better with gusts who knows....One Tent totally trashed ....tent stakes would not stay put and the temps Sat was totall awesome at 54 degrees woth unlimited visibility.
snow had melted so rapidly starting thursday on into friday that my sled was looking for a snow fix at every turn.....Moonshine has some awesome apple pie in a jar...mmmm good, Moonshine, Wildbill, Hyway with his 2 daughters, Brianna and Savahanna ( names prolly wrong spellng), Jackstraw and the fridge....

It was my fathers Eureka Timberline.It had a good 30 plus years on it. I like to think he'd appreciate it going the way it did. At 5000 feet on Wilburn Ridge in Gale force winds. Im not kidding folks. It broke one of the plastic things for those of you familiar with Timberlines. Anyhow. Awesome Hike awesome people. And AWESOME apple pie in a jar.”

“The funniest part of the whole trip (maybe not for wildbill) was after we came back from the sunset rock at Rhododendron Gap wildbill discovered he had dropped a glove. He retraced his tracks all the way back to sunset rock and then as he approaches the camp on his return we watched as he stooped over and picked up his glove not a hundred feet from where we were sitting
