“Mocs, thanks, but I'm looking for one of teh latitudes... I found a sweet site where they are on sale, but I want to see if Mildbill has a site that can beat it..

If anyone has any experience, i'm trying to decide between the latitude vapor and nimbus lattitude..

“no experience but as you probably know the latitude vapor uses the vapor trail "frame" while the nimbus latitude uses their fiberglass frame sheet. The vapor suspension is good (from what I hear) to 30# tops, so if you ever carry more than that, you may want to go with nimbus.

Is it just me that finds the granite gear names confusing?”

thanks Mocs.. the difference is about 10 pounds in comfortable weight.. 30 vs 40...

Trying to decide whether I want to force myself to hike light, or plan for a little extra weight if needed...

“I just went from a probably for the first weekend of this trip to a doubtful. I just realized that the first two days would be a Sunday-Monday not a Saturday-Sunday so I will just have to see how it goes.

If I don't get to make it I'll catch you on the next one. I will be heading into Virginia next year on my AT sections and hope to make it to Pearisburg by the end of 2010.”

“Mocs, for Saturday the plan is to hike from Winding Stair Gap to Licklog Gap (12 miles), and Sunday from Licklog Gap to the NOC (15 miles).”

“If anyone is interested in doing the first weekend only, I'll probably park at the NOC and line a shuttle up to Wallace Gap (3 miles SOBO from Winding Stair Gap) as that is where my last section ended.”

“I just picked up a Nimbus Ozone in the fall. Sweet pack. I prefer not to have a top lid now that I've grown accustomed to it. My packs are much more organized since I switched to the GG lidless packs.”
