I called the National Forest service and they sent me pretty much the same map. Looks like it would be good for winter camping. The area already has about ten inches of snow there.

I wouldn't be surprised if there's more than ten inches of snow--although right now you could walk on top of it. We had warm weather and rain this past Sunday, then the temp dropped more than 30 degrees Sunday night. The snow is like concrete!

For $5 (I believe) you can purchase a waterproof, topo map of Big Island Lake Wilderness which also includes the entire Pine Marten Run Trail system. We bought ours at the Munising Rangeer District 906-387-3700
