I put this into the Gear thread because there are so many uses for it.

I was reading the Complete Survival Manual by Michael S. Sweeny and there are a few things that interested me about sand.

In the winter, you can warm up the sand and put it in your boots to keep them warm over night.

You can warm up the sand and put it in your bag with you.

(of course you need to put the sand in something)

But it was interesting to find there was a use for sand other then to annoy me :)

I had warm sand in my butt crack yesterday. Happens regularly at the beach. Didn't know there was a use for it though.

Ear-Bending Cellmate: ...and when there was no meat, we ate fowl and when there was no fowl, we ate crawdad and when there was no crawdad to be found, we ate sand.
H.I.: You ate what?
Ear-Bending Cellmate: We ate sand.
[pause]
H.I.: You ate SAND?
Ear-Bending Cellmate: That's right!

Not much, still working out on the Arsenal. Haven't been out in the woods in a while due to health issues, but I think I have most of those licked and I'm going to try and get out some this spring.
