“I need a place to stay...if I'm coming I've got to bring the wife and kid...and if she's coming, we have no one to watch the dogs so they are coming as well...and she refuses to stay in a tent...getting my camper would take an extra 4 hours (2up to get it, 2 back) on the 6 hour drive...so that's too much. Need a cabin/room in town to rent for $100/night that's pet friendly for 2 small dogs. Anyone have any suggestions that aren't booked?”

“Brother I've called every place within two hours and the onliest place I found was in Mountain City,TN only about a half hour drive away.Damascus' Hostels and B&d's are taken up a year in advance!”

“Fridges Cabin elevation 3,500 ft with 3 bed room and your own Bath Room. Dog friendly, Upper deck with a Hugh outside fire pit right on the deck, steaks and eggs, sausage, bacon, piping hot BISCUITS with GRAVY.....2 refrigerators full of BEER one with Yengeling other with Irish Ale, oh yes did I mention that each bed room has heated mattress cover to keep your toes and lips warm....Internet with photo lab ....NO CELL SERVICE but we do have a land line phone duhuuu......Fishing Pond approx. 1/2 tenth mile from the cabin...you could actually cast from the roof top and land a big fat bass or maybe a gigantic catfish....oh yes did i mention you can set on the decks and look up at Mt Rogers and Whitetop Mt......DuHuuuu Fridges cabin in the woods it is.....12 miles from Damascus duhuuu

“Returned from Damascus and this year will be one of the best ever on FREE STUFF....I walked away with a sigg water bottle and free repair kits for all of my MSR stove collection....MORE FREE STUFF too much to say for now....I'll be hitting the vendors at least 4 maybe 5 times tomorrow and same on Saturday.....oh yes free granite gear stuff sacks...seems like they have boxes stacked up with thousands of there top seller stuff sacks all free.

Thermarest also has free repair kits for any thermarest you may have including the NEW NEO AIR....backpacker magazine will be giving away more gear that ever too....Ye haaa

Nalgene also will take any old water bottle you have and give you a new one FREE so I asked them could I bring my 17 bottle collection in and trade them for the newer BP free ones they said bringem on .....

Free NIKWAX products for everyone too and Platypus will re pipe your bladder and a new bite valve and if you have a hole in your bladder they give you free repair patches.....best trail Dayz I have seen in 6 years.....

The man can do some outdoor cookin!Thanks again for the great gift!Thanks to Fridge and Calm Spirits for putting me and Mrs Spam up for the weekend!This was Mrs Spam's first Trail Talk experience and she's already talkin about going next year and even camping at the campground.Hyway,Stomper and myself took Mrs Spam to the Drum Circle and to Riff Raff's Corner so as to let her see all of the Trail Daze experience! LOL!I came home this year with a Gregory Z35 backpack 149.95, a set of Leki Super Makalu trekking poles 139.95,three Woolrich aluminum water bottles,2 OR stuff sacks,another stuff sack name unknown, a Mountain Hardware Air Grocery Bag and a bunch of smaller accessories and stickers! A great deal more than I spent on the entire weekend.WHOOOHOOO!
