Lakes of Autumn- TR

“Took a few short hikes to some lakes in the game lands and Ricketts Glen. The foliage was incredible, particularly at Lake Jean.

The highlight was Shumans Lake. I saw a huge bald eagle circle over the water, then dive in and catch a fish.
There was also a beaver dam at Shumans.

Splashdam Pond was neat with islets and winding passages through sedges and along broad meadows.

These high plateau lakes are unique and feel like places further north with spruce trees and big bogs of sphagnum moss.
