Hi Spam,
Thank you for your candor and frankness in your review.

The StickPic relies on a friction fit in order for it to be wedged in properly. We suggest that you use a slight twisting motion with the pole to wedge it in tight.

The StickPic is made from a durable plastic called Delrin/Acetal so it's practically unbreakable. Use the same twisting motion to remove the StickPic.

In some rare and extreme cases where the ends of the poles are badly worn, then the StickPic may not fit properly.

We want all our customers to be happy with the StickPic. PERIOD. And and have a no questions asked refund policy. This is what we want to be know for.

Determining the price of the StickPic has it's challenges. Priced too high and we are out of the market. Priced too low, we can't pay the bills.

The current price was not our original retail price. We have since lowered it incrementally. Your suggested $9.95 price will be sincerely considered at our next strategy session.

If it were not for hikers like yourself and hundreds others giving us feedback and suggestions, we would be in the position we are today.

Happy trails,

Rod

Is it possible to make a fit all sleeve? Of course this model would cost more fitting all sticks! I do however like the one sent to me. Works very well.
My reasoning on a fit all is that I have 4 different sticks. Two I use most of all.
If I wanted to purchase several for folks, then I would need to know what sticks they have or buy a fit all type.

Refrigerator,
You and other hikers have suggested the very same universal fitting. Great minds think alike!

I will start working on a prototype to check it's feasibility. If you or any other member have any design ideas, I am receptive to hearing them.

Sometimes innovators have horse blinders on and think they invented the prefect product. I made that mistake some time ago and now listen and try to learn something from anybody who has ideas like yours.

It will be a while before I offer a universal fitting StickPic, so please keep checking our website.

It was a ball buster to do in one day JB especially since we went up to Grassy ridge in addition to coming back down and continuing on the AT. I got to 19 E before the others and decided to walk to the store which I thought was just down the road and it ended up being over two more miles, so I ended up doing about a 17 mile day and I got I big Ol blister to show for it!

Sierra I suggest just a screw on the side that will go thru to the Trekking Pole and can be tightened by hand!

Spam,
Also, the existing set screw can be adjustable. Use a slightly longer set screw, make the hole in the largest size and include a Allen wrench with each StickPic.

It has possibilities! But will it hold? I will mock something up and give it a whirl.

sierrashade,

That's pretty cool that you got David Cook to demo it on the 500 mile trip!

I would like to offer you a complementary StickPic because of your thoughtful contribution to this thread. It’s community members like you, sharing your views with other members which make this forum great.

Email me your address and tell me what brand, make and model sticks you use. I will mail them out right away.

That's cool sierrashade! Thanks!

As a former entrepreneur wanna-be, I'd rather support you by purchasing the product, should I decide I want one. Thanks! Again, congrats on getting David Cook!

btw, I have Leki, but I tend not to use them; instead letting fellow hikers use them. I'm nice like that.

sierrashade,

I gotta tell you, I'm a bit angry, and here's why. I feel that your perception of this community does a great disservice to it. ALL of the contributors offer something to this community, not just me. If you really felt that way about me, you should offer a camera holder on a stick thingy to ALL of the trailtalk contributors. We all offer value, and without each and every member, this place would fall apart.

If I've misunderstood your comment, please forgive me.

Thank you.

It's ok sierrashade, I just didn't want you to give me preferential treatment, when we're ALL equally deserving here at trailtalk.

OK, David Cook.....I got it now......You "Pulled my leg" good.

For everybody else not getting it.

The top picture is Carsten Jost - 2008 Solo PCT thru-hiker at his memorable 500 mile marker. He used the StickPic because there was nobody around to take his picture.

The bottom picture is of some guy from a tv game show.
