Hykealot are you going to hike in or go by kayak or boat.Are you familiar with Lake Monroe.

Randall are you coming.I have plenty of boats I can bring you a kayak if you want.Or I thought you would probally go with Attila I think he is still coming haven't heard otherwise.

Crash be great to see ya like to he all the stories from you and Randall about the trip.The water is down pretty good you should have no trouble going around the lakeshore only in a few places you will have to go up high on the hill to get around.

NOW FOR THE FOOD!!!

I am bringing a cook stove and a grill for over the fire.I am going to get a pork loin and marinate it.And bring some potatoes.

What does everyone think?

Should be a great float and hike to the camp and after we get there we can eat drink and be merry.

I thought it would be nice to camp in the corner south of the peninsuila trail where it comes down to the lake.There are a couple of Campsites with pinic tables that don't used very often and maybe we won't have to look so hard for wood.But what ever looks the best is cool with me.”

“Randall I can remember the last chipmunk I shot with a pellet gun it was resting on my grandmothers screen door it was a perfect shot but she seen the whole thing a warmed up my bottom side never went after another chipmunk again.

If you can make the 2 lake loop.Any help you need let us know.I would take some pics and post them but my camera is broke it will not open maybe windi will bring hers

Attila yes lets try and meet at 10:00 hykealot will be meeting us there with her kayak.

Me and the wife get to come without any kids they went to mama's.

Attila i am bringing more pork lion and potatoes this time leave that beans and rice at home and eat with us.It is 1 hour and 15 minutes to the boat ramp from my house that will give you an idea

“Randall I was watching the news when I got home have you turned yourself in it?They reported that the Chipmunk population has be wiped out in Chicago and they are looking for a male about 5' 2" wearing camo and carrying an automatic pellet gun.Hey if figure out its you come on down here and you can throw that Lunar Solo up out in the back yard.
Guys I had a great time thanks for everybody going the more the merry.

We started or trip at Crooked Creek Boat Ramp.3 canoes and 2 kayakS Me Windigrrl Crash Attila Lou and Hykealot which was her first trip and I think she will have many more.
We got unloaded and started down the lake to head to the Peninsuila to came over night Crash changed his mind and instead of hiking joined us on the paddle and I was glad we were all together.We got about maybe a mile or so from the ramp and there was some guys that at first looked as if they were Goose Hunting all set up with decoys set out and dressed up in there camo suits and had a Lab.I know there is a early goose season but 70 degrees out hunting Geese.Well we passed them and they fired at something and Crash said yelled Don't Shoot the yellow one it is inflatable or something like that.It lighten the moment being in a canoe and idots shooting guns in the direction you are heading just isn't right.Anyway we think they were training there dog or who knows.
After that we went a short distance and seen a Bald Eagle fly off the roost in front of us and that was cool.
We paddled and we paddled and decided to start to look for a campsite and we found what looked to be a great campsite and pulled up and got out.And we noticed that ground bees or hornets had taken up in one of the trees and we thought well we can stay away from the tree.Well as we looked futher there was another tree in the middle of the campsite that was just full of them.We decided to go onand look for something else.When we came out today there was a couple of kayakers camped there standing right by the tree.I guess they are real tuff or real stupid one or the other anyway we went on.
When went on around the corner and found a great campsite with plenty of room.We ate lunch and got our gear set up.The weather was great.After lunch Attila got in his canoe and fished for awhile and Windigrrl tried out her float chair and relaxed in the water.
Here is where you all that didn't go missed it.We ate and we ate.We had a great Supper with Boneless Ribs Corn on the Cob Baked Potatoes Cherry Cobbler Baked Beans.It was really great.After that we all kicked back and tried to stay awake after stuffing ourselves.
I want to be an Indiana Weather Man when I grow up.We woke up this morning to a light rain.They didn't say anything about rain.That has got to be the best job.They get paid no matter how many times they lie to us.Okay enough complaining the weather was still great and we got up and had Blueberry Pancakes and Bacon.
We all packed up and loaded up.We took 2 of the canoes and rafted them up and started out it took us about 3 hours to get in and maybe 2 to get out.
There was alot of other people Canoeing and Kayaking on the Lake it is nice to see other people out paddling got to love it.
Oh we saw another Eagle on the way out today.
Hopefully we can work in another paddling adventure maybe sometime around Halloween and Camp over at the bottom of Terril Ridge down the hill from Peepers so you could either hike or paddle.We'll see what everyone has going on.I wish I had some pics for the trip but didn't get to take a camera this time

I didn’t have that good of a time, but I did get 4 chipmunks and passed on two rabbits!
No rain here, just blue skies and some cold temps this morning. Sounds like you guys had fun on the lake. Wish I could have gone, but that’s life fer me right now. Did ya take any pics??? Oh, yeah, I’m 5’5” dammit!!!
