In Memoriam - Bearmagnet

“The Glacier Gang recently returned from their trip to the Belly River area of Glacier National Park.

While we were there, we held a memorial service for Phil Saeli (Bearmagnet) who was a member of our group on the original Glacier Gang trip back in July of 2004.

We had beautiful weather for the memorial and a portion of his ashes were scattered on July 23 in a forest glade approximately 250 feet west of the Elizabeth Lake Head (ELH) campground in GNP.

If anyone would like to visit this area on a trip to GNP, the coordinates are:

113º 43.721W

In addition, we fashioned a wooden raft and placed a wildflower bouquet on it and sent it down the Belly River through Elizabeth Lake in memory of his "thermarafting" when he was there in 2004.

It was an honor for us to be able to do this.

We will miss him greatly, but he will never be forgotten. We felt that his spirit was with us on this trip.

How long have you been away? Bearmagnet lost his fight with cancer and passed away last December.

We did this memorial for him because he was with us in GNP back in 2004 and became a friend of ours on and off the forums.”

no I did not find a tree. we made a rock circle and put phils ashes within it. I will get a tree in the spring. he is in the best place. as many TTer's know, we try to enjoy our outside as much as possible..

I did find a little bear that says WELCOME and it sits on the pond on the rocks. just for bearmagnet!!”
