What I need...hmmmm
I could use a new digestive system..got any o those around?? Seriously though, I have all I need. Thanks.
See ya later.
“Sorry Randall, I looked into a new digestive system and couldn't find anything for ya. Looking forward to seeing you this weekend!”
“i may or may not float in, depending on whether or not anyone has room for me, but i most likely will be heading out on foot. i plan to be in tipton around 3 for a family thing”
“Randall glad you will be able to make it there will be plenty of room for you and your gear in a canoe. You might even bring a good lawn chair I know I will be bringing one of those bag lawn chairs.
Crash I am bringing 2 kayaks and could bring a third if you need one let me know”
“So is WK still providing sat nights meal?”
“coyote, you can bring it if you have someone to paddle it back, as ill probably hike back to the car sunday
jer, wk bailed due to a house emergency”
“I'm providing Saturday nights meal which will BBQ pork loin, baked potatoes, and apple cobbler. I might be bringing some homemade mac and cheese, but not sure. I will be bringing pancakes and bacon for breakfast on Saturday morning. WK was going to bring plates, forks and knives for everyone, but he's not going to be able to make it. So, bring something to eat on and with.”
“Nope, not going to make it. A lot of my stuff got soaked so it will need to dry out and then I will have to clean it.
Something always gets in the way for me. Anyone wanna buy some used hiking gear?”
whoops windi is puttin on the meal, gratsias! Yo bear!”
“I have to drop out also. My father in law is in munster, and he will need lots of help salvaging and cleaning up his basement/house.”
“Sorry to hear that Spirit Coyote. It sounds like everyone there got hit hard.”
“windi, it sucks. I was really looking foward to this trip--- I've been working so hard here as a student/instrument tech studying and working I haven't had free time to enjoy the summer much. Had the levy not flooded I would of likely joined you all on Saturday.”
“I know coyote820 and hikealot are bringing boats, is there anyone else?”
“Don't forget fishing gear, if that's what ya want to do.”
“Why don't you guys just come up here? We sure could use the boats”
“So many good trips so close by, why Windigrrl did you have to schedule them all so close to when the baby is due! ;-)”
“windy - to get there from Indy, is it best to just take 37 south or is there a better way? I would say we should arrive in the 10 - 11 range on Friday evening. If you can save us a spot to set up one tent that would be great . . . if it's not too much trouble.
Also, do you have the gps coordinates for the Saturday night camp?”
“37 is more direct, but I65 to I64 is probably faster. what do you think, windi?”
“from a time standpoint it's about the same as taking 65 through Louisville...depending on traffic you might save 10-15 minutes going through Louisville...taking 37 is about 40 miles closer though and is a much more scenic route”
“As you can see by the posts, you can take either way to get there. I would think I65 to I64 might be the best at night. I don't have the GPS Coordinates for Saturdays campsite, but if you look at the map on the trip page you can see where it's at. I will be putting up orange marking tape to mark the turn off from the trail as well as from the water. I'll be going down either early on Friday or late Thursday to get it done.”
“the campsite only allows 4 vehicles to park at the campsite. I am asking everyone to allow those with boats to park there first. That way they can keep an eye on them. There is addditional parking close by.”
“I am asking everyone to allow those with boats to park there first.
I have my kayak at home . . . does that count? lol! Seriously, with the weather forecast it's very tempting to bring the kayaks down, but with this being the first time there I'll stick to hiking this time.
I'll probably just follow 37 if it's 40 miles less. By the time I get down that far the traffic should not be too bad, even when it turns into a two lane.
Windi - Is the Friday night camping a single site or a campground with multiple sites? If it is multiple will you mark the location?”
“I am planning on getting a group site. I'm hoping to get site #9. I will leave info at the gate as to which site(s) will be ours. If it's after hours, I will still try to leave something posted on the gatehouse. If there's nothing there, just follow the noise, lol.”
“we be hiking! YEE HAH!”
I expect lots of pictures and very detailed tr.”
I expect to be there sometime Early Friday, most likley, late AM or early PM. Is anybody bringing firewood for Friday Night??
I could pick some up someplace along the way!! I'll bring my ax as well. Do I need to bring a life jacket??
See ay later.
“Please do bring some firewood for Friday night if you have easy access to it. I was going to go and raid my brother's wood pile. If you have a PFD, I would bring it.
Meangreen might make it for the day on Friday and Saturday morning. He has to be back in Indy area by Saturday afternoon.”
“i have the natl geo map, and it doesnt show a campground where you have a campground marked on the map. it shows a campground down by the boat launch of indian lake, however”
“I'm planning on coming down early Friday to. Let's go do something fun!”
“This link will take you to the campground info.
“well, then, the map you have on the trip page is incorrect. there is no campground where youve indicated "fridays campsite"”
“also, im interested in the winery thing if i get down there in time
also, people should NOT bring firewood, according to the campground website
Firewood could transport emerald ash borer. Only local firewood should be used.

“the winery thing sounds good to me! :)
What time is everyone getting there?”
“A life jacket would be helpful I have 2 canoes and 4 kayaks loaded. You could put your gear in the canoe and paddle the kayak over or what ever you want to do but it would help if you could bring a life jacket.
Windigrrl I am going to have 5 coming with me.Don't put us in the mix for the food I don't want you to have to cook for all of us.
I will however need a campsite for Friday Night we will be coming after work if you could get us a campsite we will have 3 tents and need a place to park the truck and trailer. My brother and both boys are coming down with me and Lou.
Randall I will be paddle the canoes over you can go with me or take my kayak over which ever you like.If no one there to take over my kayak we will just tie it to the canoes and it will pull over just fine.
I will bring some oil and a frying pan lets catch some fish and fry them up.
Windigrrl give me a call sometime tomorrow.

“Coyote - so much for traveling light, lol. Save some room in one of those canoes for the food. I'll call ya tomorrow.
Chili isn't going to make it, but Meangreen aka Capt Jack is joining us for at least Friday.

“I'll be there Friday afternoon. Do you need someone to bring plates, forks, etc.? I can do that.”
“I am planning on being there no later than 1 PM tomorrow, hopefully earlier. Looks like we are going to have great weather for this weekend!”
the map you have on the trip page is incorrect. there is no campground where youve indicated "fridays campsite”
“Thanks for bringing that to my attention. We will not be camping at the site marked on the map for Friday night. We will be at the campgrounds in the park.
I know Coyote has 6 ppl in his group. Is there anyone else bringing others? I'm getting food together and want to make sure I have the correct amount for everyone.”
“If I can get service at the location, I will post any last minute update. Everyone should have my cell number as well.”
“north face or south slope?
also, what time are you planning on hitting the winos? i may be interested”
“I'm waiting to hear back from stomper, but the winery is open from 11-6. I was thinking about going around 3 or 4, what do you think? Oh, I'm going to try to get a campsite at the loop closest to Celina Lake. Site #9 and #10 if I can.

“I can easily make it there by then. i'll give you a call tomorrow once i hit the road”
“There are tons of geocaches in the area if anyone's into that.”
“i'd like to get into that”
“thats what she said”
“I am hoping to be there by 4ish!”
“sorry, jer, i dont see your name on the list”
“I'm still a maybe, but depending on how my other plans go, I might join you”
“Sorry guys, I am going to have to bail out on this trip. I had a death in the family yesterday. I was really looking forward to meeting more of you. Hopefully I can join in another trip soon. :(”
