Footballpalooza '08

“Cocoa, a few others, and I did a 2 day Roan trip, then drove over to Boone. We hit Mellow Mushroom on the night of the preseason game with Michael Vick at VT and FSU. Pizza, pitchers of beer, and football for a post hike meal was awesome.

We found a bathroom at a lake and all had a sink bath of armpits and hair and fit right in with the hippies of ASU. We camped that night at Julian Price Mem Park, then had breakfast at the Daniel Boone Inn. It was awesome.”

“I forget whether Linville Falls campground allows dogs. Roan has some nice cabins. We stayed in the one that allowed dogs. I've also stayed at Bear Den campground because they allow dogs. It's just down the road from Linville Falls.”

“So far, the interest is scattered. Now that I am moving to Nashville, the logical spots are Sipsey or Savage Gulf.”

“If Sipsey then you might want to combine it with topher's trip.”

“I am thinking that is the best plan. This move sets my vacation time back to zero, combined with the fact I will be in the first month on the new job.”

1 batch of 3 bean baked beans
6 pack of Honeymoon
6 pack of Blue moon.”

“what do you use for filler with your 3 bean baked beans? i thought there were 4 pple in your family? You and your wife share a bean?”

“5 people. The youngest is two now.

Well, it's 3 cans of different beans. Pretty good stuff. Fry bacon, the sautee an onion in the bacon grease. Mix them together. Throw that and the beans, and probably ketchup and other stuff in a crock pot and cook for a few hours.”

“Well...poo....I am going backpacking anyway :)”

“Even though I've never signed on, I thought I could make this. It's been fun in the past. Unfortunately, this year we never seemed to build up steam. I get the feeling we're all really busy (I also get the feeling I ain't gettin' any sympathy from chili on this one).
