Abbey
Well, I broke down and got a new Golden Retriever puppy. I picked her up when she was 8 weeks old just less than a week ago. My life has certainly changed this past week. The two cats have put her in her place a couple of times when she crossed the cat's boundries and limitations.

It's been a little over a year and a half since Merlin passed away. RIP, my friend. They would have gotten along together famously.

We're crate training Abbey and that has been a Godsend. She loves to go on walks, but is easily distracted by the smell of an animal that crossed our dirt road hours ago. No accidents so far...

Here's one picture

Wow. Absolutely adorable. I hope to meet up with her on the trail one day.

It's my dog Loki's 3rd birthday today. I still miss my old hiking partner who died at 14 1/2 last summer.

Awe! She's beautiful! I love them when they're that age. Goldens are the best. This is my favorite picture of Honey at one of Birch's adventure races...

And all growed up...

Thanks, all. She certainly is a cutie, just like Nigal's Honey.

Abbey is growing every day. We've only had her a week and she's grown so much.

Abbey just learned to play gimmedat a couple of days ago. She can now carry a regular tennis ball in her mouth. She's getting bigger every day.

It won't be long before she's sitting down with the tennis ball and pealing it like an orange. LOL!

tennis balls don't stand a chance in our house either. They get ripped into nickel sized pieces.

I gave up on tennis balls as well. It's always the same. First, the little one takes it under a table or something where she can have it to herself and peels all the fuzz off. Then, the big one eventually gets it and cracks it right in half then chews it into lots of little pieces.
