“Well, I broke down and got a new Golden Retriever puppy. I picked her up when she was 8 weeks old just less than a week ago. My life has certainly changed this past week. The two cats have put her in her place a couple of times when she crossed the cat's boundries and limitations.
It's been a little over a year and a half since Merlin passed away. RIP, my friend. They would have gotten along together famously.
We're crate training Abbey and that has been a Godsend. She loves to go on walks, but is easily distracted by the smell of an animal that crossed our dirt road hours ago. No accidents so far...
Here's one picture

“Well that's pretty damn cute!”
“Ohhhh...what a little cutie!!!”
“Precious! Good score.”
“nuthin's cuter than a new puppy!”
“Wow. Absolutely adorable. I hope to meet up with her on the trail one day.
It's my dog Loki's 3rd birthday today. I still miss my old hiking partner who died at 14 1/2 last summer.

“I heart puppies.”
Too much cuteness.”
“Awe! She's beautiful! I love them when they're that age. Goldens are the best. This is my favorite picture of Honey at one of Birch's adventure races...
And all growed up...
“wow I am so happy for you!
we on the other hand, have an 11 year old house guest for the summer. wish I could crate train her :(
not used to cleaning up pee and pooh”
“It makes me want to go out and get one! She is so cute”
“Thanks, all. She certainly is a cutie, just like Nigal's Honey.
Abbey is growing every day. We've only had her a week and she's grown so much.”
“how old is Honey?”
“Honey is five I believe. I keep trying to talk the wife into getting another one but she won't have anything to do with it. :(”
“I will be Abbys big sitser if that is okay with ever buddy in New Hamster. She is a verry perty gerl!”
“That's OK w/ ever buddy in New Hamster.”
“Hey! I got a new gimmedat tennits ball that is liddel and the prefect size for Abby (and Gissmaeioux bwt). I will give it to her netx time I see her (do not tell her tho so it will be a sprize).”
“Abbey just learned to play gimmedat a couple of days ago. She can now carry a regular tennis ball in her mouth. She's getting bigger every day.”
“It won't be long before she's sitting down with the tennis ball and pealing it like an orange. LOL!”
“tennis balls don't stand a chance in our house either. They get ripped into nickel sized pieces.”
“awww :( too cute!
makes me miss my sasha so much more.”
“I gave up on tennis balls as well. It's always the same. First, the little one takes it under a table or something where she can have it to herself and peels all the fuzz off. Then, the big one eventually gets it and cracks it right in half then chews it into lots of little pieces.”
