Why do you support your candidate?
I think it would be cool to learn why diffeent folks support different candidates. I picked up something from another thread here that was a reference to "the lesser of the two evils", that's kinda' sad!

I'd like to hear the POSITIVE things you think about your candidate... not the trash-throwing against his/her opponent, that isn't a reason to vote FOR someone, it;'s areason to NOT vote for someone else!

So... here's you chance, can you give us a sales pitch on why you are supporting the presidential candidate you're supporting?

THANKS!

Hillary Clinton (in the primaries)

I think she has a good chance of not winning the general election.

You cannot vote in the primaries for a demo sarge. It is blantantly obvious you are a registered repub.

Rosey, I saw your post on another thread... just curious, but is Hillary your preferred candidate, or, is she just someone you'd vote for INSTEAD of Rudy?

If so, can you share "why"? That's what this thread is all about "why are we supporting the candidate we're supporting"? I'd like to hear POSITIVE responses for ALL the candidates here!

rosey, I know independents can vote in republican or democratic primaries in NC. Or they could a few years ago. maybe ist changed, but I imagine its different for each state.

I just googled it. In NC the Dem, Repub, and Libertarians primaries are opened to unaffiliated voters. You can only vote in one primary though.

Hyway,

seems like that would be a federal law? So maybe that is the case across the board. You can vote in any primary but only one?

its dependent on the party. The party can open its primary if they choose. Dem's can allow unaffiliated but not repubs and vice versa.

WOW!
I have to admit to being very surprised that the supporters of (whatever) candidates haven't jumped on this opportunity!

1. Why do you support (XYZ) Candidate?
2. Why should we support / vote for him/her?
3. What makes them different from the "party" line... how will hey adress the needs of ALL of us?

My guess is she won't, but it will be interesting to see the hard line Republicans reactions if she does.

She's an angry person. There is no way she can make it through the general election without that becoming blatantly obvious to everyone. She has no chance.

Although ... due to her willingness to use dirty tactics to win, I maybe should have worded that differently.

I open to anyone except Hillary, Rudy or Mitt.

My heart is with Ron Paul!

Ron Paul could be the next Ronald Reagan for the Republican party if they would support him. They certainly differ on many things but as Reagan did after Watergate, Ron Paul could bring our party back to honorable standing post Bush and the Neocons.

Ron Paul has a distorted view of the global situation. He thinks we can stand guard on our shores and be safe. He is very much wrong. It's a scary thought to think somebody would hold the position to determine that. The reality of the world situation would hit him when he actually had to make a decision that could affect his country. He would at that point completely change his mind. It's not worth wasting the time on such a misguided leader.

No Sarge you and the Neocons are the misguided ones. If congress had listened to Ron PAul back in 2002 thousands would be alive today and our treasury would not be bankrupt due to Bush's invasion of Iraq based on WMD lies. Ron Paul fully supported going to war against those that attacked on 9-11. He is for a nonintervention policy that gives us a strong national defense but stays out of the world policeman role that has failed.

Ok. Just to clarify, you are the one who said before that the WTC was an attack by the Bush administration, right? and that the structure never got hot enough to melt the steel, right?

I probably agree with at least 95% of what Ron Paul stands for, more than any other candidate. Look at my posts on here the last few years, except for Iraq, he and I see eye to eye almost all the time. The main thing I disagree with is too important. He doesn't understand that certain enemies need to be dealth with before they get out of hand.

Thanks for the label by the way. I appreciate that. I shall label you a conspiracy theorist. Hope you don't mind.

Can we get back on track here?

I'd like someone to tell me WHY they support their candidate.. not why they DON'T like another candidate!

I didn't want this to turn into an anti-candidate thread... can we PLEASE just talk about what you all see as the positives for your preferred candidate?

(If you want to throw rocks at somone's candidate, then start another thread, please, let's keep this one as a place for everyone to talk about why they promote their candidate - I'm very interested in hearing positives for EVERY candidate, the negatives are everywhere, we don't need to see them here again)!

I haven't found them yet. I want someone who's going to get back to the source of our greatness...The Constitution. Ron Paul sounds like he gets it. He's the only one that is close to what I'm looking for and I have yet to go dig in his underwear drawer for major flaws in him yet.

Sounds like you're assuming money and borders = security.

I've said it before, I'll say it again ... the bigger they are, the more vulnerable they are. The bigger they are, the harder they fall. (that one isn't mine)

Money buys the sense of security, it doesn't provide security. You need two things to have security - (1) common sense, and (2) fate on your side. Would you guess the United States has either?
